- While he was at Merchant Taylors school he held up the Pinner Post Office which resulted him being expelled and prevented him from taking his place at Bristol University. Because of this he turned to acting and eventually in 1977 he formed his own comedy acting company.
- Has Lived on the Island of Gozo, off Malta for many years, where he enjoys long distance swimming.
