- Martha Angerstein-Licho was born on March 26, 1885 in Warsaw, Poland, Russian Empire [now Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland]. She was an actress, known for Die rollende Kugel (1919), Schuldig (1913) and Zu spät (1913). She was married to Adolf E. Licho. She died in 1932 in the USA.

- After her move to Germany she became a successful stage actress and began her career in Plauen. In the next years followed engagements on other stages, among others Leipzig, Hamburg and from 1910 Berlin.
- In 1922 she already retired from the limelight.
- After the seizure of power, her husband, who according to the racial doctrine of the Nazis was half-Jewish, went into exile in the USA, where Martha Angerstein could not follow him for lack of an affidavit. She then lived for a time in Austria, but returned to Berlin.
- In June 1940 she left the German capital and moved to Glatzen, where she had friends. When she had to leave Czechoslovakia in December 1945 as a native of Germany, she found refuge in Bavaria (Unterwössen) with several other expellees.
- In 1950, as part of an application to the IRO (International Refugee Organization), she expressed her wish to immigrate to the United States to live with her son. Since her request was refused, she stayed in Unterwössen (Bavaria).
