Doja Cat was one of the biggest stars to perform at Coachella this year. The singer was in charge of closing out the musical extravaganza, which lasted from April 19th to April 21st.
The event was a colossal success, even if there was a bit of anxiety about the ticket sales. In the end, the three-day event went smoothly, and the American rapper headlined a star-studded night. Aside from her infectious performance, one of the biggest talking points was her singing Wet Vag**a while rolling in a mud bath.

“You know you can watch that at home, right?” Such was the advice directed my way by a wisecracking passerby while queued up for a screening at the 2024 Turner Classic Movies Film Festival in Hollywood, California. They were clearly not a festival passholder, but the indifference heard right there on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was another instance of the trampling of history that both the festival and its parent channel aim to counter.
Probably the most even-handed response to that trampling would be a reminder—to flip a well-known phrase—that a home is not a house (not a movie house anyway). The folks who flock to Los Angeles every year from all over the world to attend this festival, probably all subscribers or rabid devotees of the channel that bears its name, cough up a prodigious amount of money to do so. It’s clear that for them,...

Over the years, several famous female musicians, although they have had multiple nominations, have never won a Grammy Award. The Grammy Awards are one of the biggest and most prestigious awards in the music industry. With new entrants each year, the stakes to win a Grammy are higher than ever. One famous female musician who shockingly never won a Grammy at the prime of her career was Diana Ross. The singer, who began with the girl group The Supremes, never won a Grammy with the girl group or as a successful solo artiste. However, she was presented with two Lifetime

Before Dorothy’s mother passed away, she had a favorite saying, as Aunt Em reminds her grieving niece in the opening scene of The Wiz: “The hard stuff is there to let you know just how good you got it.” And while that’s a curious mantra to undergird a production of a Broadway musical, there’s something to it in the latest revival.
The first musical by a Black composer to win Tony Awards for best musical and best score, this well-loved show turns 50 next year. If Schele Williams’s simplistic and sometimes bewildering staging doesn’t itself demonstrate how the show has held up across those decades, she wisely steers all attention toward the main event: the stunning vocal performances from her cast. And since the show’s underwhelming visuals feel like less of a distraction than an afterthought, it’s easy enough to put the “hard...

[This story contains spoilers from the April 17 episode of Abbott Elementary, “2 Ava 2 Fest.”]
Ava Fest returned to Abbott Elementary for a second year in a row during Wednesday night’s “2 Ava 2 Fest” episode. But, unlike the first festival in season two of the ABC sitcom — where the wildly unqualified principal of Willard R. Abbott school pretended the name of the petition-signing effort stood for “A Very Abbott Festival” — this time around, she wastes no time professing her true intentions.
“Of course it’s about Ava, what do you mean?” actress Janelle James, who portrays Ava in the Quinta Brunson comedy, asks facetiously. “She just wants to have a party, charge at the door, take half. What’s the big deal?”
The big deal in the episode turns out to be Ava’s promise that Questlove will perform at the festival, which none of the teachers believe after she failed to book R&b singer Jazmine Sullivan the year prior. But...

Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor will make their Broadway debuts in a new production of Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet this fall.
The production will feature music by Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff, who is also making his Broadway debut, movement by Sonya Tayeh (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) and direction by Sam Gold. Exact dates and a theater have yet to be announced, but tickets are set to go on sale in May.
While few details have been released about this version of the Shakespeare classic, the production is using the tagline “The Youth Are Fucked” and promises an angrier take on the tale.
“With the presidential election coming up in November, I felt like making a show this fall that celebrates youth and hope, and unleashes the anger young people feel about the world they are inheriting,” said Gold, who is helming this season’s An Enemy of the People.

Annie, are you okay? You look like you might faint after producer Graham King turned up at CinemaCon to surprise the crowd with a first look at Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic, Michael. Said to be an emotionally intense depiction of the King of Pop, Michael is positioning itself as a Huge event film. JoBlo’s editor-in-chief, Chris Bumbray, is in the crowd and says Michael will surely be controversial.
During his presentation, Graham said he knows everyone has an opinion about Michael Jackson, for good or ill. However, he did change the world of pop music forever, and his controversy made him a fascinating subject for Fuqua’s film. Graham also said Jackson was an enigma, but behind everything was a man with a very complicated, difficult life.
Michael contains 30 songs from Jackson’s legendary catalog. Next, a trailer played for the crowd, showing Jaafar Jackson as the Gloved One.

The talented Wayne Brady will appear in an iconic role this month as he suits up for his latest adventure in entertainment.
Brady, best known for hosting TV’s Let’s Make a Deal, and his improv comedy skills on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, has also had plenty of unique roles on stage.
Now, he will appear in the Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz as the title character.
He recently addressed what it’s like to take on that role as he admired a larger-than-life image of himself as the character.
“Does it really sink in when you see your face on the wall?” CBS Sunday Morning’s interviewer asked him.
“I think it sinks in. This never gets old,” he admitted, adding, “I mean, come on. It’s my big old head on Broadway.”

The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” is embracing the Motown sound — announcing key castings including Larenz Tate as Motown Records founder Berry Gordy and Kat Graham as the legendary Diana Ross.
As the film chronicles Jackson’s rise to prominence — first as a member of the Jackson 5, then as a solo artist — the record label will factor in significantly. “Power” franchise star Tate (who coincidentally played “Thriller” producer Quincy Jones in 2004’s “Ray”) takes on the Motown impresario Gordy, who redefined American music by platforming such acts as the Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, Gladys Knight and the Pips and Diana Ross & the Supremes.
Graham portrays Ross, who, as lead singer of the chart-topping group, was asked to officially introduce the Jackson 5 to the world and remained a lifelong influence on Michael Jackson.

A new contestant on this week’s The Masked Singer was Clock, and they made it to the next round without any issues or the need to take part in the Smackdown round. Still, the big question on everyone’s mind is … who could it be? Let’s look deeper into the clues.
“The Masked Singer” – What The Clock Performed
This week’s special theme on The Masked Singer focused on Billy Joel songs. The Clock performed his beautiful “Piano Man” medley and moved on to the next round. Still, because of the Joel song that was chosen, fans listened intently to try and figure out if Clock’s voice could offer any clues.
Jenny McCarthy-Walberg stated that Clock carried herself like a “diva” or “queen”. In Clock’s clue package was a Watch & Clock Maker shop where the performer noted she was “timeless”.

Jenny McCarthy-Walberg stated that Clock carried herself like a “diva” or “queen”. In Clock’s clue package was a Watch & Clock Maker shop where the performer noted she was “timeless”.

“I grew up on Long Island in the 70s and 80s,” Bastianich told Variety. “That was the soundtrack of that era. Some of the greatest songs ever written. I know Billy Joel, personally, from growing up and as a customer in all the restaurants. I hope he gets to see it!”

Ariana Grande’s seventh album begins with a question she spends the rest of the album trying to answer: “How can I tell if I’m in the right relationship?” Five years ago, on her landmark album on Thank U, Next, it seemed certain that she would have that question figured out by now; in the bridge of that album’s title track, she sang about hoping that when she would eventually walk down the aisle it would be her first and last time.

Ringo Starr has been a professional musician for years and has dedicated his life to creating and consuming rock music. In the early 1960s, when The Beatles rose to fame, they had the opportunity to see and meet many other bands. One night, they attended a concert in Miami for a band Starr loved. He was disgusted by the way other people were enjoying the music, though.
Ringo Starr was not happy to see people dancing to rock music
In 1964, The Beatles went to America. As they traveled around the country, they often crossed paths with the American band The Coasters.
“When we were in New York, The Coasters were on there, and then when we were in Florida, they were there, too,” George Harrison said in The Beatles Anthology. “Everywhere we went, even when we were in California, The Coasters were advertised.”

Ashlee Simpson has the benefit of hindsight when it comes to her infamous 2004 appearance on Saturday Night Live. “I had done my rehearsal the night before and then I woke up the next day and I couldn’t speak,” Simpson explained on the podcast episode. “I saw the voice doctor that day and I had two nodules beating against each other.

Cable news networks went all in on a Georgia proceeding today over whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified from the Donald Trump election interference case because she had a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
The wall-to-wall coverage saw Willis and Wade questioned on deeply personal details of their relationship, which attorneys for Trump and other defendants say is a conflict of interest.
Willis took the stand in the afternoon, and was defiant as she was questioned by attorney Ashleigh Merchant, who sought her financial records and other information about her relationship with Wade. Merchant is representing one of the co-defendants in the case.
“I object to you getting records,” Willis said to Merchant at one point. “You have been intrusive into people’s personal lives. You are confused. You think I am on trial. These people are on trial for trying to steal an...

John Lennon‘s “Imagine” is the most famous song by a former Beatle. Paul McCartney has covered countless songs over the years and yet he never put his spin on “Imagine.” He once explained why he didn’t want to cover “Imagine.” Love or hate his decision, his reasoning makes a lot of sense given the song’s lasting cultural impact.
Paul McCartney felt that everyone sings John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’
During a 1990 interview with Rolling Stone, Paul discussed one of his aborted ideas. “In fact, I considered doing a major tribute to John,” he said. “But it suddenly felt too precious, too showbiz. I was going to have a whacking great picture of John and just say, ‘He was my friend.’ Which was true. I’m totally proud to have worked with him.
Outsiders wanted Paul to sing John’s most famous solo tune. “But then people started saying,...

Iconic singer Celine Dion shocked the audience with her surprise Grammy appearance on Sunday. Before announcing the final Grammy winner, host Noah Trevor introduced Dion to the stage after teasing her appearance throughout the show.
“Thank you all, I love you right back,” she said to the audience. “Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.
Dion was met with a standing ovation. The 55-year-old singer was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in December 2022. The neurological disorder causes muscle spasms and an inability to control them. The disorder has also affected Dion’s ability to sing. In 2023, Dion had to cancel her Courage World Tour out of concern for her health. Stiff-person syndrome is rare and only affects one or two people per million.

“When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart,” she said, as the audience stood up to cheer her on and sing along to her song “The Power of Love.” “Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”

Twenty-seven years ago, Celine Dion was presented Album of the Year for Falling into You by Diana Ross and Sting. The Canadian musician reflected on that career highlight during a rare surprise appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she presented that same award to Taylor Swift for Midnights.
“When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart,” Dion told the audience. She has scarcely been seen amidst her ongoing battle with stiff-person syndrome, an autoimmune neurological disease that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

The Beekeeper (David Ayer)
It’s the time of year for smooth-brained relaxation. Moviegoers can recover from the holidays with the comfort of knowing Gerard Butler, Liam Neeson, or Jason Statham will be here to satisfy their mid-budget, action-programmer needs. Is it really the new year if one of those cherished Kings of January doesn’t appear on the release slate? There’s no Gerry or Liam, but the ever-reliable Statham dons a trucker hat and blue jeans to grit his way through David Ayer’s The Beekeeper, an overall valiant, occasionally fun attempt to take us out of Q1 doldrums. – Conor O. (full review)

From the first seed of an idea to the creative chaos of cramming 40-plus celebrities into a single recording studio, The Greatest Night in Pop, the new documentary from director Bao Nguyen (Be Water)chronicles every obstacle and behind-the-scenes story that led to the iconic song we all know and love. Still performed at karaoke bars and school recitals all over the globe, “We Are the World” gathered together dozens of pop and rock luminaries on one unprecedented night to raise millions of dollars in humanitarian aid for African famine relief. Upon its release in 1985, it quickly became the first single to be certified multiplatinum. Produced by the legendary Quincy Jones, the song was co-written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson at the height of their fame, and featured solos by Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, and Kenny Rogers, among many more musical superstars. Today, it’s...

But as he sees it, the peak of it all came in January of 1985, when Jones called upon him to arrange the array of superstar vocals on “We Are the World.”
