It's the 10th anniversary of the best post-2000 Bond movie. Sam Mendes' 2012 spy film "Skyfall" is the twenty-third in the long-running series of James Bond movies, an atmospheric masterwork that features Daniel Craig's third performance as the fictional MI6 agent.
"Skyfall" sees Bond re-entering into MI6 service after his assumed shooting death and taking on a mission which sends him to the brave new world of Shanghai in pursuit of a mercenary known as Patrice (Ola Rapace), the man for whom the bullet that wounded Bond was intended for. Bond is tasked by his MI6 superior M (Judi Dench) to find Patrice, the sensitive hard drive he holds, and information about his mysterious employer. The ensuing confrontation is gorgeously lit and impeccably shot under the supreme lens of cinematographer Roger Deakins; the two men fight in silhouette, backlit by LED panels of bright, glowing jellyfish, and few words are...

Sony Pictures, MGM Studios, and Eon Productions have announced highly anticipated details about the 24th James Bond movie. They made the announcement from the Bond sound stage at Pinewood Studios. The movie will be called Spectre, a teaser poster was released, and you will find more information regarding the Sam Mendes directed film below thanks to the official James Bond Twitter account that live-tweeted the big event announcement.
For those of you not familiar with the name Spectre, it's the fictional terrorist organization that was introduced in the Bond novel Thunderball, and it was also present in the beginning of the movie Dr. No. The name stands for SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, which is led by the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Returning to direct Spectre is Sam Mendes, whose Skyfall was the highest-grossing entry in the history of the Bond franchise — not to mention one of the best reviewed.

Earlier this morning Eon Productions, MGM and Sony Pictures officially announced that the title of the 23rd James Bond film to be directed by Sam Mendes will indeed be called Skyfall. During the press conference several other details were revealed. Producer Michael G Wilson also confirmed the film's budget saying, "We’re in the same budget range as the last film. We haven’t had to change anything in the script. In fact, we keep adding things – everything is going to be just as it was.” This Means they are also looking at a budget of around $230 million bucks.
The story for Skyfall focuses Bond's loyalty to M, which is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
We've also heard rumors in the past that Mendes would be making a Bond film with less action.
