Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino could celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday by reading pages from their new film, "Mother's Day."
Despite the holiday-themed title -- a recent Hollywood trope that has become synonymous with star-studded omnibus romcom tripe -- "Mother's Day" is actually an indie drama about mothers and daughters that just so happens to take place on Mother's Day. Paul Duddridge, a former comedy agent in Britain, will write and direct.
This isn't the first time the mother-daughter duo have appeared together onscreen. Sarandon and Amurri played mother and daughter in "The Banger Sisters" back in 2002. As THR notes, Amurri also appeared as a younger version of Sarandon's character in "Dead Man Walking."
Amurri Martino's father is Italian director Franco Amurri. She married soccer player Kyle Martino in 2011.
Sarandon last appeared in the critically acclaimed "Jeff, Who Lives At Home." Amurri Martino will next appear in "That's My Boy.

Playing a glamorous granny may not top the wish-list of every leading lady. But Susan Sarandon, newly single at 63, is unfazed by getting older. On the eve of her new film, The Lovely Bones, she tells Chrissy Iley why marriage was not for her, why she's getting into tattoos and how laughter keeps her skin perfect
The first thing you notice about Susan Sarandon is how comfortable she feels in her own body. She often talks about how proud she is of her breasts, but it's more than that. There is something about how connected she is to herself that makes her charismatic. She is instantly accessible, perching on a little sofa in Claridge's hotel, wondering why the green tea is brown. She is wearing black jeggings, New Balance trainers, an oversized sweater with a cream lace shirt underneath. A curious outfit, yet somehow you notice her – not its oddness.

Susan Sarandon is still feeling sexy at the age of 63 - after taking a pole dancing lesson with her actress daughter Eva Amurri.
Amurri, Sarandon's 24-year-old daughter with Italian director Franco Amurri, took the saucy dance lesson for her steamy role on hit U.S. TV show Californication.
The young star invited her mother to join in the fun - and Sarandon admits she jumped at the chance to learn how to work the pole because it helps to keep her feeling young.
She explains, "My kids are so funny they bring me into the present. I go to concerts and I went and I learned how to pole dance with my daughter when she was doing Californication. It's very difficult and you have to be in very good shape. It's hard!"...

Susan Sarandon is counting down the days until her youngest child heads to university - because her life will no longer be ruled by her kids' school schedules.
The Dead Man Walking star has two sons with longtime partner Tim Robbins: Jack, 20, and Miles, 17.
The actress, who lives with her family in New York, admits she cannot wait to send Miles off to college in another state so she can gain back her social freedom.
She says, "I do (like nesting) but I'm also very good at visiting them in foreign places! I'm so ready (for an empty house).
"The thing is, when you have kids you're such a captive to their school schedule so you get an invite or you wanna go someplace or something, you have to be back (by a certain time). I'm very hands on so I have to break that habit."
Sarandon is also mother to actress Eva Amurri, from her previous relationship with director Franco Amurri.

Susan Sarandon was so relaxed about her actress daughter stripping off for a role in raunchy TV drama Californication, she actually encouraged her to take the part.
Eva Amurri, Sarandon's daughter with Italian director Franco Amurri, played Jackie, a woman who studied during the day and worked as a stripper by night, on a recent episode of David Duchovny's hit TV series.
And Sarandon insists she had no qualms about the 24 year old getting naked onscreen because she knew Amurri would enjoy herself.
Speaking before the show aired in the U.S. on Sunday, she told the New York Daily News, "I think if she were playing something that was going to be really hard for her psychologically or damaging, I'd be more concerned, but she had a really good time with the sex thing.
"She plays a woman who, as far as I can tell, is really in charge of her life and is not a victim. So it sounded to me like it would be a blast. I've already seen little bits and pieces of some of the nudity and she looks beautiful."...
