- Her most famous film role is of a Russian spy in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). Because she spoke with a Russian accent in that film, and because most of her other film roles were either in Italian or French, everyone assumed that she was European and refused to cast her in American roles. The truth is she was born and raised in New York, USA and speaks English with an American accent, even after her marriages to an Italian businessman and to an Englishman Ringo Starr.
