The highly anticipated “Sonic the Hedgehog” TV series spinoff, “Knuckles,” is here and it includes a smashingly great cast that’s ready to hit you with your favorite Sega characters.
The six-episode live-action series made its premiere on Friday, April 26. According to Paramount+, the series “follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.” The show takes place between the films “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and was made by many of the same people involved in the films.
The series was created for television by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, who also serve as showrunners during production.
Here’s a complete “Knuckles” cast and character guide. All six episodes are now streaming on Paramount+.

My favorite comic strips are the ones where the characters' physicality has no basis in reality. Think of Calvin's untenable head-to-body-size ratio in "Calvin and Hobbes" or how every living creature in "The Far Side" is built like a pillow with sticks for arms and legs. The funny pages, like animation, have no real limits when it comes to the physics of their worlds, so why should their inhabitants be any different?
Charles Addams, in particular, wholly embraced this idea and ran with it while drawing his off-kilter, satirical "Addams Family" comic panels for The New Yorker from the 1930s up until his death in the '80s. The titular clan of ghoulish aristocrats embodied everything that stereotypical white American families did not in the 20th century, which manifested itself in their appearances. The Addamses had preternaturally oblong or round faces and builds. Most notably, the stocky, pale-white Uncle Fester...

Sony Pictures Television and TriStar Pictures have made a deal with Hasbro Entertainment for the film and TV rights for Clue, which could mean that we could get a new movie based on the beloved board game.
“Sony is the perfect partner to adapt a property as culturally impactful and mystery-defining as ‘Clue,’” said Hasbro Heads of Film and TV Zev Foreman and Gabriel Marano. “Nicole Brown, Katherine Pope, and their teams are tremendous creative collaborators and ideal partners to help us figure out after 75 years if it was Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with the candlestick.“
Related Hollywood Trailblazer: Jamie Lee Curtis producing documentary on Halloween producer Debra Hill
Clue was previously adapted in 1985, featuring an ensemble cast that included Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Lesley Ann Warren, and Colleen Camp. Surprisingly, this has been the only Clue movie, but it’s not for lack of trying.

Sony is the latest player that would like to make an accusation. The studio has won the rights to develop a reimagining of the Hasbro board game “Clue,” and the studio intends to bring the murder mystery game to the screen for both film and television.
Hollywood has been trying to remake “Clue,” first adapted in Jonathan Lynn’s cult classic screwball comedy “Clue” from 1985, for years. Most recently, a project was set up at 20th Century Studios, and it had Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman circling to star along with “The Muppets Movie” filmmaker James Bobin directing. In 2022, Oren Uziel (“The Lost City”) stepped up to rewrite the original draft of the script from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Deadpool”), but it too went nowhere.
No cast or creative talent is attached at this stage of development. Sony is the only studio developing anything based on “Clue” at this time,...

The film and TV rights for Clue have landed at Sony, with Hasbro Entertainment closing a deal with TriStar Pictures and Sony Pictures Television to develop adaptations of the classic murder mystery board game.
Clue, the game, has players figure out who is responsible for a murder in a cast of characters that includes Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White and Miss Scarlet. The location of the murder (dining room, kitchen, ballroom, etc.) and weapon (velvet rope, lamp, knife, etc.) also must be deciphered.
The board game was previously adapted into a 1985 comedy that starred Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn and Christopher Lloyd, among others. While the film performed poorly at the box office and debuted to lukewarm reviews, Clue, which was written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, has since reached cult status. Over the years, other versions were in the works, with Ryan Reynolds at one point attached to star...

Plot: The new live-action event series follows Knuckles on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.
Review: It is hard to believe that Sonic The Hedgehog premiered on the big screen just before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down the world. With the fandom that has popped up around the Sonic the Hedgehog films, both among younger audiences and adult fans of the games, it was only a matter of time before the IP became a franchise. Despite its A-list cast and high production values that should spell success as a spin-off, Knuckles loses track of the magic that made the films so beloved by fans, delivering a soulless, nearly insufferable comedy devoid of laughs or charm.
Set after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the miniseries Knuckles follows the echidna warrior as he trains deputy Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) in his ways. It’s almost insulting how little Knuckles actually plays into this story, as his storyline is relegated mainly to a subplot about a shadow organization hunting him down for his power, with a focus more on Whipple’s journey of self-discovery that absolutely no one will care about.

Idris Elba is reacting to news that Keanu Reeves is joining the Sonic the Hedgehog universe as the voice of Shadow for the third installment of the film saga.
Elba voices Knuckles the Echidna and, during the red carpet premiere of the upcoming Paramount+ series Knuckles, shared his thoughts on Reeves.
“I’m a big fan of his,” Elba said in an interview with IGN. “I’ve heard that he’s a fan of mine, and we are destined to make something together. So, here we go.”
Elba and Reeves had shared credits voicing characters in Cyberpunk 2077 which would make Sonic the Hedgehog 3 a reunion for the actors.
Shadow made a non-speaking appearance during a mid-credits scene in 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The character is an anthropomorphic red-striped black hedgehog created by the government and set to resemble Sonic’s abilities.

Michael J. Fox became a household name when he starred as the protagonist Marty McFly in Robert Zemeckis’ sci-fi comedy Back to the Future. While the actor was not the first choice for the role, he replaced actor Eric Stoltz who had already begun filming for the movie. Fox has now become synonymous with the role and starred in two more sequels.
Before he became known for his role in Back to the Future and the sitcom Family Ties, Michael J. Fox was reportedly at the worst of his finances. He revealed once that his situation was so bad that he used to check at dumpsters for food because he could not afford it. However, once he bagged the roles of his lifetime, there was no turning back.

“Hacks” is back on Max for Season 3 on May 2, and the streaming service released a new trailer for the Emmy-winning comedy on Tuesday.
In Season 3, Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) reunites with Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) after Deborah fired her at the end of Season 2 so Ava could pursue her own dreams. Now, after months apart, they’re both at different places in their careers – with the success of her special, Deborah is back on top, while Ava has enough self-respect to demand that Deborah not make fun of her appearance (yeah right) – and they’re going to try to take advantage of their momentum. “Anything I want to do, I have to do them now,” Deborah tells Ava. She has to strike while the curling iron is hot.

‘Hacks’ stars and producers prep for show’s overdue Season 3 return by defending why women are funny
At last, our long national nightmare is nearly over.
It only seems like the much-decorated Max comedy “Hacks” has been away forever. It’s actually been less than two years. Overcoming strikes by writers and actors and a health crisis involving star Jean Smart – who won the Emmy for Best Comedy Actress in each of the show’s first pair of seasons – the series returns for Season 3 on May 2. The streamer will roll out two episodes on May 2, 9, 16 and 23 before running the finale of the nine-episode season on May 30.
“Hacks” was something of an Emmy juggernaut in 2021 and 2022 before going Awol due to a 10-month production delay in 2023. It earned 15 nominations in its first season and 17 in its second. It converted six of those 32 nominations (which included a pair of Best Comedy series bids) to wins, including the two for Smart as well as for the show’s writing and directing.

Monkey Man is one of the most imaginative action films to come out sometimes and it comes from a first-time director who also stars in the lead role Dev Patel. Described as “Indian John Wick,” the action-thriller film follows the story of a young underground fighter who goes on a rampage against the city’s elite to avenge the injustices done by them to his mother and village. Monkey Man also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Sikandar Kher, Adithi Kalkunte, Makarand Deshpande, Sharlto Copley, Brahim Achabbakhe, Ashwini Kalshekar, Pitobash Tripathy, and Vipin Sharma. Let’s be real. If you had to name the most badass action movie of the past few years, what’s the first flick that comes to mind? Yeah yeah, John Wick might be all the rage for teenagers, Liam Neeson continues to do his geriatric Charlie Bronson, and you can never discount Jason Statham and his brand of brutal butt-kicking. But come on, as far as violently visceral and scintillatingly satisfying underdog tales loaded with realistic fisticuffs and gore-sodden gunfights – nobody does it better than Nobody! Indeed, the 2021 cinematic blitzkrieg starring Bob Odenkirk as an unassuming everyman by day and certified ass-kicker by night hit all the right notes to deliver a vicious and delicious revenge dish for the ages.
With that being said, did you know that a Nobody 2 is currently back in the works? Did you know there were discussions about making a Nobody and John Wick crossover movie?...

Everyone’s favorite Marty McFly could never believe the ridiculous amount of fame he achieved. Michael J Fox was best popular among the ’80s kids who loved him in the Back to the Future series. However, before his career took a turn with the time-traveling film trilogy, he starred in a role that would make him believe in his acting ability.
Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future II
Fox’s earliest role in a Canadian sitcom was so terrible that he believed himself to be a bad actor. The Teen Wolf actor proved otherwise and starred in several projects before he officially retired in 2020 owing to his Parkinson’s condition.

In Hollywood, casting decisions can make or break a movie. Sometimes, the biggest roles almost end up in different hands, which changes the story. Take Ghostbusters, for example, the classic film with the guys chasing ghosts. Well, imagine if Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts were carrying those proton packs! Alongside them, crazy, right?
A still from Ghostbusters (1984)
We all know the Ghostbusters crew, isn’t that so? However, they might have looked totally different. Back in ’84, Ivan Reitman dropped this flick about a ghost-catching scientist in New York City, and it blew up. Fans and critics couldn’t get enough of it. Then, in 1989, a sequel was released, but it did not quite hit the same high notes.
Attempts to make a third Ghostbusters film persevered for quite a while, yet hit a roadblock with Harold Ramis’ passing in 2014. Paul Feig’s 2016 reboot of the franchise featured an all-female team with nods to the originals.

In one of Charles Addams' original Addams Family comic strips for the New Yorker, we see Gomez, the family patriarch, perched by a large window in his sepulchral home, looking out the window. His children and wife are standing near him. Outside the window, an apocalyptic storm is raging. A tree has been stripped of its leaves and a home across the street appears to be blowing over. "Just the kind of day that makes you feel good to be alive!" Gomez comments.
Barry Sonnenfeld's 1991 film version of "The Addams Family" captures that outsider spirit. This iteration of the Addams Family values the gloom that most people eschew, presenting Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Houston) as horny, enthused monsters who you kind of fall in love with.
The plot of the movie is somewhat plain: a scheming a-hole finds someone who looks exactly like the long-lost Fester Addams...

What does "Cheers" and "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer have in common with the cast of "Bones"? A shared set. The beloved Fox crime series shared a set with a short-lived, oft-forgotten show that Grammer starred in between 2007 and 2008 titled "Back to You." Because both shows were Fox productions, the network made good use of a set that was built for Grammer's show but was then re-used for an episode of the fourth season "Bones."
The episode in question is "Man in the Outhouse," the third episode of "Bones" season 4, which aired in 2008. As revealed by Entertainment Weekly, the TV set that we see in the episode for "Busted by Bill" was actually the same TV studio set that was used by Grammer and his co-star Patricia Heaton, of "Everybody Loves Raymond" fame, on their show "Back to You." Not coincidentally, that show wrapped up its very brief, one-season run earlier...

Last week, the 2024 SAG Awards reunited casts from beloved TV shows and movies including Modern Family, Breaking Bad and The Devil Wears Prada.
While the Modern Family reunion was missing the children from the hit ABC sitcom, the grown-up gathering did include Ty Burrell, who famously missed a previous time the cast gathered since the show wrapped.
Speaking on Friday’s Tonight Show, Jesse Tyler Ferguson said he insisted that Burrell show up after his absence at the last reunion sparked concerns from fans that something had happened to the actor who played Phil Dunphy.
“When the SAG Awards happened, he was supposed to do something else,” Ferguson said. “I was like, ‘Ty! You can’t miss it again! People will really think you’re dead!’ It’s like, ‘We need to present you to show you that you’re not dead!’ So he made it.”

While the Delorean car has all but disappeared, one particular Delorean remains a beloved part of Hollywood lore — the one famously used as a time machine in the Back to the Future trilogy. The three films’ popularity has endured to this day, and the 1985 original is widely considered to be one of the decade’s masterpieces. While the films remain beloved by the generation that made them hits upon their first release, they continue to gain new generations of fans, thanks to home video, streaming, and word of mouth. Christopher Lloyd, who starred as Dr. Emmett Brown in the film, spoke to the Scotland Comic-Con about why he thinks the Back to the Future films all stand the test of time (no pun intended). Exclusive: Umbrelic Entertainment co-founders Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz are bringing back a new Anchor Bay Entertainment with an eye on genre films, undiscovered treasures, cult classics, and remastered catalog releases.
“We had an opportunity to take the name of a beloved genre film brand, one we feel a personal connection to, for our new company,” says Zambeck. “This is a new venture, unaffiliated with any previous incarnations. We aim to honor the history and spirit of the past as we look for interesting films that break the mold, and will be discovered by new generations for years to come.”
In Lionsgate’s acquisition of Starz in December 2016, the studio absorbed the North American branches of Anchor Bay Entertainment. The Anchor Bay Entertainment trademark was up for acquisition so Zambeck and Katz took the opportunity to acquire it. The new Anchor Bay Entertainment doesn’t include the previous label’s library.

Exclusive: Fathom Events has acquired the fantasy throwback film Man and Witch: The Dance of a Thousand Steps, set to be released nationwide in theaters sometime this summer.
The project marks the return to the big screen for The NeverEnding Story star Tami Stronach, who played the Childlike Empress in that 1984 fantasy film. In Man and Witch she portrays the titular witch alongside her husband Greg Steinbruner, who stars as the titular man.
A passion project for the couple, Man and Witch—inspired by their own love story— was produced under their Paper Canoe Company banner, with Steinbruner also serving as screenwriter. And to make it a complete family affair, the couple’s daughter Maya also stars in a role that’s described as a “powerful being who is not of this world.”
