Holland
Director Mimi Cave had an indie horror moment a few years ago with Fresh, which introduced a truly dark side of Sebastian Stan that made Bucky Barnes feel like just an everyday emo in comparison. Cave recruited Nicole Kidman, Matthew Macfadyen, and Gael García Bernal for her new film, a thriller set in small-town Michigan that feels like couture made exclusively for Kidman. Sealed into a perfect but airless life with her husband (Macfadyen) and child (Jude Hill, who starred in Belfast), Nancy Vandergroot happens upon a secret that might dismantle her picture-postcard existence. The trailer’s creep factor is off the charts, and we’re curious whether Holland will stick the landing/ending or, similar to Fresh, if it’ll be subject to a wide range of fan opinions.
