"The Studio"
These days, Seth Rogen is more likely to produce a project—or work his pottery and cannabis company side hustles—than he is to appear on camera. But the buzz on "The Studio" is that it delivers the comedy goods, so it seems he'll have a second Apple series to fit into his schedule (Season 2 of "Platonic" is in the can, but no release date is set yet). Rogen stars as a newly appointed head of a Hollywood movie studio who hasn't quite figured out how to make art and money simultaneously. You could call it unlocking the A24 model. Rogen and his longtime creative partner Even Goldberg must’ve called in every favor they've curried over the last two decades, since everyone from Scorsese to Anthony Mackie pop up in Season 1. But we're more excited to see Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O'Hara as proper co-stars. The recently canceled Max series "The Franchise" missed the mark with a similar storyline, so we’ll be curious to see how the more intense, inside baseball vibes of “The Studio” connect with viewers (we’ve heard comparisons to “The Bear”).
