James Carman is an accomplished New York based filmmaker. He works as a director and cinematographer. His feature length documentary, The Hidden Hand; Alien Contact and the Government Cover-Up, has won 5 awards and is distributed internationally. It was on Amazon Prime's and Netflix's best selling documentary list for 3 weeks. As a writer, James wrote, "The Last Baron", for Lars van Trier and the Coproduction Office. James has shot many features films that have been shown in festivals and film theaters around the globe (Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, and Toronto film festivals.) Recently five films he shot were shown at the MoMA retrospective of Bruce La Bruce. His short films were screened at the Berlin and Locano Film Festivals. James recently had a solo video and photography exhibit at Point B gallery in New York. It was entitled, The Grasshopper Lies Heavy; A Remembrance of Hiroshima 70 Years On. James is a member of the Producer's Guild (PGA) and is currently producing a TV series, Superconscious, which explores people with special gifts and abilities.

Mattias Troelstrup, DFF studied still photography from an early age. He has worked as a freelance cinematographer for all the major production companies in Copenhagen. When he came to the American Film Institute in 2008, he was already one of Danish National Television's leading documentary cinematographers, and had included in his application a fictional short film entitled SEE YOU, which would later be shortlisted for an Academy Award. During Mattias' time at AFI he shadowed DP Michael Goi, ASC and Lance Acord, ASC during their work on feature films and commercials, respectively.
Upon graduating from AFI, Mattias received his first Plus Camerimage nomination in 2010 for his work on AFI short film, CLEAR BLUE, under Student Competition. That same year, Daily Variety cited him as a Cinematographer to watch.
His film ELECTRICK CHILDREN, a beautifully shot coming of age drama directed by Variety's top ten directors to watch, Rebecca Thomas, earned Mattias his second Plus Camerimage nomination for Best Cinematography in 2012. The film was also successfully received at 2012 SXWS Film Festival. Mattias shot Jared Hess's 2015 Sundance film, DON VERDEAN and Eva Husson's BANG GANG which premiered at TIFF also in 2015. His most recent feature is THE FOREST directed by Jason Zada for which he has been favorably reviewed across the board for his stunning cinematography.

In addition to his work as a photographer, he directed the shorts "So they are born blacks", awarded as best film at the ABD Fica Show 2017 and best film 2018 and "Kris Bronze", exhibited at more than 30 festivals in the Brazil and awarded at the 17th NOIA University Audiovisual Festival festival (best film and best cast), Piridoc 2018 ( Best film and best film by the jury popular), Favera 2018 (best documentary), 18th Goiânia Short Shows (best direction) and Shows ABD FICA 2018 (best direction and best documentary).
