- DirectorMitsuo HashimotoStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaFrieza's older brother Cooler travels to Earth to take revenge against Goku for Frieza's defeat on planet Namek.Coolers revenge is my favorite DBZ movie. It's actioned packed and straight forward.
The fight scenes are awesome, Cooler is a beast of a character, and the soundtrack (at least in the American version) is just amazing.
Its also nice that this movie can take place in the actual timeline of the show since most of these movies technically cant happen since they feature events that contradict what happens in the main tv series.
Thankfully this movie fits perfectly right before the android saga and deserves to happen. 10/10 - DirectorShigeyasu YamauchiStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaGoku, Vegeta, and the rest of the Dragon Team search for the fabled Legendary Super Saiyan, a destructive, all-powerful warrior.Broly the legendary super Saiyan is really good as well.
It has beautiful animation and splendid fight scenes. Broly's cool to and the highlight of the movie, there's a reason he's one of the most popular Dbz character's.
It like Cooler can also take place in the show right before the cell games I believe. - DirectorYoshihiro UedaStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaBojack is a demon who was freed from prison when King Kai's planet was destroyed. Now, without his father Goku by his side, can Gohan save the Earth?Bojack unbound is also pretty good.
Like Broly it has stunning animation and great fight scenes.
It's also cool seeing Gohan as the main hero instead of Goku and Bojack and his minions are also pretty dope.
Like the last 2 this one can take place within the main timeline as well with it being able to happen right after the cell saga. - DirectorDaisuke NishioStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaThe Z-Fighters must stop a mad scientist out to take over the world. The worlds strongest is probably the most action packed of all the Dbz movies.
I mean the fight choreography in this movie is just amazing and the plot or main big bad of the movie is also more interesting.
Unfortunately this one cant take place within the main series timeline as it implies it takes place before namek which is tricky since Piccolo is still alive in this movie so it cant. - DirectorMitsuo HashimotoStarsMasako NozawaTakeshi KusaoMayumi TanakaThe Z-fighters find themselves in the middle of another extraterrestrial conflict, which includes a sword-wielding warrior named Tapion, a wizard and an enormous monster named Hirudegarn.Wrath of the dragon is kind of like Broly, cooler, and Bojack in that the animation is gorgeous/well animated and it also like the 3 can take place in the timeline which is also nice. Tapion is also really cool as a side character and Super Saiyan 3 Goku looks incredible in this.
- DirectorDaisuke NishioStarsMasako NozawaMayumi TanakaTôru FuruyaA group of aliens visit Earth to plant the Tree of Might, a plant that grants cosmic power by draining the Earth's life force.Tree of might was one of the 1st few Dbz movies I saw and its a good one to start out.
Turles is a cool villain (even though he's just a evil version of Goku) and the tree of might so to speak is a really interesting plot point as well. The fight scenes are of course fun to and it was really nice to see the other z fighters like Yamcha, Tien, chiatzu and Krillen fight as well since there usually absent.
The only thing that's annoying is like worlds strongest this cant take place in the timeline but oh well. - DirectorMitsuo HashimotoStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaA Super Namekian named Lord Slug comes to invade Earth and only Goku can stop him .Lord slug is pretty much exactly the same as Tree of might expect instead of turles its Lord slug and the z fighters absent. Besides that its literally almost the same thing.
Its still really good though as like Tree of might and worlds strongest its actioned packed and the villain Lord Slug is really entertaining. I would argue he's almost as good if not better then Turles.
The soundtrack like Cooler and Broly is killer at least the American soundtrack.
The only annoying thing is like Tree of might it cant take place in the timeline and it also features a incredibly prototype so to speak of a super saiyan which is weird. You'd have to watch the movie in order to know what I'm talking about though. - DirectorDaisuke NishioStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaHiromi TsuruGohan is kidnapped by Garlic Jr.'s men so he can have Gohan's Dragon Ball to grant him immortality. Goku and his friends try to stop Garlic Jr. and save the world. The dead zone is the 1st Dbz movie and while its incredibly short it is still pretty entertaining and the fight choreography is also pretty good. Almost as good as worlds strongest.
Garlic jr can also be fun and like Cooler and bojack this movie can actually take place in the timeline...kind of.
There's one big inaccuracy is the movie but besides a couple details it could still take place. Garlic jr even came back in the show itself and got his own saga even though it was just filler. - DirectorShigeyasu YamauchiStarsMasako NozawaRyô HorikawaTakeshi KusaoThe universe is thrown into dimensional chaos as the dead come back to life. Now Goku and Vegeta must track down the cause of this uproar.Fusion reborn is a lot of peoples favorite Dragon Ball movie and I can see why.
The animation looks stunning on it, Gogeta is awesome and Janemba is a cool looking villain. The music is also top notch.
The only big problem I have with the movie however is once again like a lot of these movies' it cant take place within the main timeline and its especially distracting here since I'm not even sure where they thought this movie could even occur. Its probably the worst in that regard.
I also find the stuff with Gotenks to be a little annoying and while Janemba looks cool he doesn't have much in terms of character. He might as well be a mute which makes the movie a little lacking compared to the other movies since well the villain's were always the highlight.
Still the move is very enjoyable and re watchable. - DirectorDaisuke NishioStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaThe death of Dr. Gero at the hands of Androids 17 and 18 prompts the activation of Androids 13, 14, and 15. They try to kill Goku, who fights them with the help of Trunks, Piccolo, Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan.Super android 13 like the others is a fun ride.
The new androids in this movie are fun as well as very entertaining and the fight scenes are also cool.
There also a lot of good comedy in it specifically at the start when Goku takes his family shopping. Lots of fun.
Still like others this movie cant take place within the main timeline which again is a little annoying and its also very simple in terms of plot which some other movies are to but for some reason it seems very apparent here.
Literally the androids show up out of nowhere and Goku defeats them. That's it. Almost mundane. Thankfully Broly came after this. - DirectorMasahiro HosodaStarsMasako NozawaHiromi TsuruRyô HorikawaAfter sleeping for 39 years, the God of destruction Beerus is surprised to learn that Frieza was defeated by the saiyajin Goku. Upon finding him, Goku is excited to face him, but realizes that his powers are negligible compared to Beerus.Battle of Gods was a important movie for Dragon ball for a long time.
Mostly because it came out after a decade and a half of having no Dragon ball content and it was also the 1st Dragon Ball movie to be declared canon (although Super the tv show that would come out a few years later did retcon that a bit).
So a lot of people were hyped for it at the time and while it was cool seeing some Dragon Ball content I was still a little apprehensive.
After watching it though it was pretty good.
Beerus and Whis made good villains and were very fun (although they were a little to silly for my taste at times).
The animation was stunning and the fight scenes were also not bad.
I also thought the Super Saiyan God transformation was kind of cool but it was also a little underwhelming especially considering all the transformations we had before.
Still it was fun movie and I can see why a lot of people like it. I just wish it was a little more serious. - DirectorTadayoshi YamamuroStarsMasako NozawaRyô HorikawaHiromi TsuruFrieza is reborn and achieves the last of his transformations, and it is up to Goku and his warrior friends to join forces to fight the enemy who has returned from the dead. After Battle of gods we then got Resurrection F which was a little better in the action department and was a fun watch but it also a little more shallow.
For starters they bring back Frieza and while at 1st glance that might seem cool it doesn't really amount to much.
They pretty much just bring back Frieza, give him a new transformation through the most convoluted logic I've ever heard and then after showing up on earth he gets easily defeated. That's it.
They didn't do anything new with him and it feels like they just brought him back for pure fan service reasons. Almost like fan fiction.
Same thing with Goku and Vegeta.
They give them a new transformation called super saiyan blue and while it looks better then the 1st god form it still feels empty mostly because its lack of background.
Everything else just feels like its on auto pilot.
Like I said this movie feels very predictable and it doesn't feel like much happens in the grand scheme of things.
That doesn't mean the movie is not entertaining because it is but considering like Battle of gods this is considered canon when there were tons of other Dbz movies that were just as good if not better I still think its just ok. - DirectorDaisuke NishioStarsMasako NozawaToshio FurukawaMayumi TanakaCooler has resurrected himself as a robot and is enslaving the people of New Namek. Goku and the gang must help.Return of cooler follows Coolers revenge and I'm not gonna lie its little a underwhelming which is a shame since coolers revenge was so good.
I wouldn't say its terrible by any means though since there re some good things about it.
For starters its cool that the movie takes place on new namek (since we barely saw it on the show), the fight are also pretty good especially between Goku, Vegeta, and cooler, and yeah metal Cooler does look cool.
everything else though feels pretty standard and full of holes.
Like for example like a lot of the dbz movies this cant take place in the timeline which I guess shouldn't be to much of a shock at this point but considering how coolers revenge could of occurred in the main timeline it just makes this one looks less.
Also while metal cooler looks cool I still find it stupid that one Cooler survived after what happened to him in the last movie and 2 after he fuses with the big gete star (which is like a big super computer or something) he becomes way to over powerful.
I mean he literally has like 100s of clones of himself and are about to destroy goku and vegta but he just doesn't for even more convoluted reasons.
In fact that's a good word to describe this movie convoluted. - DirectorShigeyasu YamauchiStarsMasako NozawaMayumi TanakaTakeshi KusaoAfter seven years went by, Gohan grows up during the time around Goten's birth. Goku died and when Goten cries, Broly regains life and the Z warriors must stop him again.Broly second coming is kind of like return of cooler in that its a disappointing sequel to a really good dbz movie expect its worse.
For starters the goku and most of the cast are absent in this movie and instead its mostly just Goten, kid trunks, and a little bit of Videl which I wouldn't have a problem with if it wasn't for the fact that Goten and trunks are so annoying.
Like maybe its just a taste thing but I do not understand why they thought it be a good idea to center the story on them. I mean they were tolerable at best on the show why would you give them a whole movie?
Also while Broly's back and looks cooler then ever he doesn't really do much outside of saying kakarot over and over again.
Which is funny because that's what people usually know him for even though in the 1st movie not only did he say a lot more then that but he also did way more as well.
Here he's just chasing after kids until the credits roll.
The only part of the movie I like is the ending when Gohan shows up after being almost completely absent in the whole movie and takes on Broly which is kind of cool but like I said it happens at the end of the movie and is very short lived. - DirectorYoshihiro UedaStarsMasako NozawaTakeshi KusaoDaisuke GôriBroly is cloned by Lord Jaguar, who plans to pit him and other bio-warriors against Mr. Satan in an attempt to expose him as a fraud. Goten, Trunks, Kriilin and Android 18 must stop the new Bio-Broly.Bio Broly is said to be the worst dragon ball movie and it is.
It pretty much has the same problems as Broly's second coming expect even worse.
Not only is this movie focused on goten and trunks again (who are super annoying) but Broly this time around isn't even Broly.
Now he's just a big pile of goo and just growls a lot.
Why did they even bother making him connected to broly?
Gohan doesn't even show up this time around which was the only good thing about the last movie meaning there is literally no redeeming quality in this movie. Nothing.
I'm usually not very negative or critical of movies but this movies bad. Like really bad. Its not even entertaining.
Skip it.
