- DirectorDon SiegelClint EastwoodStarsClint EastwoodAndrew RobinsonHarry GuardinoWhen a man calling himself "the Scorpio Killer" menaces San Francisco, tough-as-nails Police Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan is assigned to track down the crazed psychopath. An unforgettable action masterpiece with an iconic, sadistic villain, haunting scenes of violence and one of Clint Eastwood’s best performances. The filmmaking craft at work here, and many of the scenes are truly top-tier entertainment.
- DirectorJames FargoStarsClint EastwoodTyne DalyHarry GuardinoInspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan reluctantly teams up with rookie Inspector Kate Moore to foil a terrorist organization made up of disgruntled Vietnam veterans. This movie explores Harry’s life outside of work, and shows the most emotional side of him of any of the films. That makes it special. The story brings some good social commentary on corruption, and the action sequences, as always, are great, just like Eastwood’s performance. This is an underrated film in the Dirty Harry series.
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsClint EastwoodSondra LockePat HingleWhen a woman exacts deadly revenge on the aggressors who raped her and her sister ten years earlier, Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan is assigned to the case. We’re not completely sure if we’re supposed to root for Sandra’s character or not until the second half, and the villain is bland, but this movie’s bleak, almost horror-like tone and scenes make this unique for the series, and it’s got great moments of violence and comedy.
- DirectorTed PostStarsClint EastwoodHal HolbrookMitchell RyanInspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan pursues a conspiracy of vigilante cops, who are not above going beyond the law to kill San Francisco's undesirables. The plot is thin, the villain is bland, and the runtime is about twenty minutes too long. The movie is very cliche and adds no new ideas to the series. But it has good action (particularly the final fight sequence), hood performances, and is entertaining, though weak compared to some of the franchise’s other films.
- DirectorBuddy Van HornStarsClint EastwoodLiam NeesonPatricia ClarksonInspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan must stop a sick secret contest to murder various San Francisco celebrities, with himself being one of the targets. The soundtrack is very bad, besides the end credits song. Harry’s new partner has some good one-liners, but is poorly written and unconvincingly acted and has no charisma with the series star. The villain isn’t really introduced until the last twenty minutes, and we don’t care about him. The performance is also bland. Still, though, I can’t hate this movie. Harry is as fun to watch as ever, his love interest is charming, and the action sequences are great.
