As a series of coincidences turn lethal, Cecilia works to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.FINALLY, a good horror/thriller movie. Most people will probably hate this movie but this is what a horror movie should be. Building atmosphere, questioning everything, clear and sensical motivations for all characters. One of the things I like most about this movie is that unlike most horror movies, these characters act like real people, the things they do and the actions they take all make sense for that character to do. They don't do things that are out of character (or just completely stupid things to do). Also unlike most horror movies that try to write out cell phones and technology as much as possible to try to build atmosphere, this movie never "knocks them out" conveniently to make things "more scary". This movie actually uses the cell phones and technology to build the tension, atmosphere, and stakes. I enjoyed this movie a lot. Really well done. I will watch more "Dark Universe" movies like this... if that is a thing they are still trying to do.
- DirectorJudd ApatowStarsPete DavidsonBel PowleyRicky VelezScott has been a case of arrested development since his firefighter dad died. He spends his days smoking weed and dreaming of being a tattoo artist until events force him to grapple with his grief and take his first steps forward in life.
- DirectorAlan BallStarsPaul BettanySophia LillisPeter MacdissiIn 1973, when Frank Bledsoe and his 18-year-old niece Beth take a road trip from Manhattan to Creekville, South Carolina, for the family patriarch's funeral, they're unexpectedly joined by Frank's lover, Walid.
- DirectorPete DocterKemp PowersStarsJamie FoxxTina FeyGraham NortonJoe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.
- DirectorDean ParisotStarsKeanu ReevesAlex WinterKristen SchaalOnce told they'd save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, two would-be rockers from San Dimas, California find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfill their destiny. This is a great feel good movie, especially if you like the first two and these characters. They stuck really faithful to the characters in a way that doesn't betray what the characters were, but allows them room to grow and be entertaining. It had Kristen Schaal in a main role which is always a plus from me. Bill and Ted's daughters were a lot of fun and well played; Somehow they were not just carbon cutouts but also very much like Bill and Ted. Dennis is my favorite character though. That's all. Be excellent to each other.
- DirectorCathy YanStarsMargot RobbieRosie PerezMary Elizabeth WinsteadAfter splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroines Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.Harley Quinn is Harley Quinn again instead of just walking around in tight cloths with dyed hair and saying crazy things. The actors were all great in this. It was a lot of fun and allowed itself to be silly while still taking a few moments to be serious. It kept the character of Harley Quinn intact and didn't just turn her into a "good guy". More movies like this DC. We want to see interesting characters, not just giant spectacles... Speaking of spectacles though, the action/fight scenes were really great. The last two were really fun and well done. I really liked that they gave Harley a fighting style, she didn't just kick butt, she seemed to favor using other people's leverage against them. I'm sure the Bird's all had their own too but her's stood out to me and I thought it was cool.
They went really hard on the R rating which I wasn't really expecting, but I also feel that aside from the cussing, it never really felt like thing's were thrown in the movie simply because of the R rating.
The only really big problem this movie has is that this DC universe is so screwed up at this point, that it's disheartening when good ones like this come out, but it still has this link to other movies that are... not great, or studio interfered to Hell until what comes out is just completely disjointed. I want to push this movie rating a little higher because felt like I really enjoyed it, but at the same time I still feel it really solidly sits at what I gave it, at the upper end. I don't think it's super groundbreaking or particularity brilliant, I just think it's a really well done fun movie. - DirectorJason HowdenStarsDaniel RadcliffeSamara WeavingNed DennehyA guy relies on his newly-acquired gladiator skills to save his ex-girlfriend from kidnappers.... if it's possible, this is like a more ridiculous, over the top mash-up of Wanted, Scott Pilgrim, and Shoot 'Em Up. Though, I don't think it's as good as those, as those are some of my favorite movies. It didn't have as much substance or story/character development as those films, but it had as much fun as they did, and more substance and story/character development than I expected. To me it was a better than it should have been ridiculous action movie. Radcliff is a lot of fun, the whole cast is. I really enjoyed this movie.
- DirectorJoel CrawfordStarsNicolas CageEmma StoneRyan ReynoldsThe prehistoric family the Croods are challenged by a rival family the Bettermans, who claim to be better and more evolved.
- DirectorCory FinleyStarsHugh JackmanRay RomanoWelker WhiteThe beloved superintendent of New York's Roslyn school district and his staff, friends and relatives become the prime suspects in the unfolding of the single largest public school embezzlement scandal in American history.
- DirectorAndrew HecklerStarsGarrett HedlundAndrea RiseboroughForest WhitakerWhen a museum celebrating the Ku Klux Klan opens in a South Carolina town, the idealistic Reverend Kennedy strives to keep the peace even as he urges the group's Grand Dragon to disavow his racist past.
- DirectorNiki CaroStarsLiu YifeiDonnie YenGong LiTo keep her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man and battles northern invaders in China.
- DirectorPatty JenkinsStarsGal GadotChris PineKristen WiigDiana must contend with a work colleague, and with a businessman whose desire for extreme wealth sends the world down a path of destruction, after an ancient artifact that grants wishes goes missing. This was... fine. I don't understand all the bad things I heard about this movie. Was there some dumb things in it? Sure. Was it not as good as the first one? Nope, sure wasn't as good. But I liked it just fine. It's worth at least a watch. I swear, I wish people would watch more truly terrible movies so they don't fly off the handles when a movie is perfectly fine but just not "one of the best movies ever made". The gold armor looked pretty lackluster. Other than that not much to complain about, it was fine. I thought Gal Gadot and Chris Pine were great. I thought Kristin Wiig and Pedro Pascal were both pretty good too.
- DirectorStephen GaghanStarsRobert Downey Jr.Antonio BanderasMichael SheenA physician who can talk to animals embarks on an adventure to find a legendary island with a young apprentice and a crew of strange pets.
- DirectorJeff FowlerStarsBen SchwartzJames MarsdenJim CarreyAfter discovering a small, blue, fast hedgehog, a small-town police officer must help him defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on him.Surprisingly entertaining and also surprisingly pretty well done. I was not expecting to be as entertained by this movie, and in the end ultimately like this movie as much as I did. It just makes me ask over and over again, what was with that original trailer? If this is the movie they had, why did they go with that TERRIBLE design to start? How much was actually changed? So many questions, but in the end, it was highly entertaining.
Even though it was entertaining, I find myself continually asking though, why with movies like this, do they feel the need to shove human characters, and our world into the story? Do they think no one will find it relatable if there are not "human" characters shoved into it? I feel like this exact same story line could have been easily achieved by mixing around a couple of existing Sonic characters into it and keeping it in Sonic's world. I just don't get why, after so many Pixar movies and shorts have existed and been successful, that producers and script writers feel like they have to awkwardly shove/write in human characters/our world in movies like this.
But all that being said, at the end of the day, I still found this movie very fun and highly entertaining. Definitely rating this WAY higher than I ever thought I would, even before they released the first bad trailer. Hint: if you are even a casual Sonic fan, you want to be sure to stick around not only for the first "after credits" teaser, but also for the second. It made me not only like this movie more, but actually excited to see them make a second one! (I clapped for it) - DirectorEvan MorganStarsKaitlyn Chalmers-RizzatoAdam BrodyKaleb HornA once-celebrated kid detective, now 32, continues to solve the same trivial mysteries between hangovers and bouts of self-pity; until a naive client brings him his first 'adult' case to find out who brutally murdered her boyfriend.
- DirectorJon StevensonStarsBrian Landis FolkinsWil WheatonKathleen Brady1990: David, 40, looks after his dementia mom. He uses a video dating service to no avail. He buys a "Rent-A-Pal" video tape and things change.

- DirectorIl ChoJo Il HyungMadeleine MartinStarsYoo Ah-inPark Shin-hyeJeon Bae-sooThe rapid spread of an unknown infection has left an entire city in ungovernable chaos, but one survivor remains alive in isolation. It is his story.
- DirectorWalt DohrnDavid P. SmithStarsAnna KendrickJustin TimberlakeRachel BloomWhen the Queen of the Hard Rock Trolls tries to take over all the Troll kingdoms, Queen Poppy and her friends try different ways to save all the Trolls.... ok, so the first Trolls movie I thought was going to be a bad money grab. Then I watched it and, it was much better than I thought it would be. I bought the Blu Ray for the first one when I decided to rent World Tour because, the first was better than I thought and World Tour has Sam Rockwell in it. Win win was my guess. On my second viewing of the first Trolls movie, it was even better than I remembered, I would even say quite a good kids' movie. I liked it a lot more, which made me want to see World Tour more. Well, I watched it, and it's... fine. It's not great, wouldn't even say it's good, it's just... fine. Disappointing. They even we're so basic in making this movie they even hijacked almost beat by beat, event by event, the exact same climax of the first movie. Except in the first movie it was done well, in this one, they were just copying what they did before but with none of the payoff of the first. It was just a soulless, "Well, this worked in the first one so we'll just do the same thing again.". There's a way to do that right, they didn't. Never thought I'd say this much about a Trolls movie, but it's, fine. I'm sure it will entertain kids just fine, it's harmless, it's got a good message just not done as good as it was in the first one. It's fine, just disappointing...
COMMON GUYS, you had Sam Rockwell! How is this not better? (And you thought you could just replace Jeffrey Tambor and not even find someone who sounds anything like him at all and no one would notice... I noticed.) - DirectorAnt TimpsonStarsElijah WoodStephen McHattieGarfield WilsonA man in his thirties travels to a remote cabin to reconnect with his estranged father.

- DirectorDerrick BorteStarsRussell CroweCaren PistoriusGabriel BatemanAfter a confrontation with an unstable man at an intersection, a woman becomes the target of his rage.
- DirectorJosh BooneStarsMaisie WilliamsAnya Taylor-JoyCharlie HeatonFive young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.... What the heck did I watch? There were some interesting ideas here to be sure, but this seems like a story where they just threw every single thing they could think of at a wall to see what stuck, and then strung all of it together in a thin story, even the stuff that didn't stick to the wall. I would like to say it's worth a watch, but I don't really think it is. I think it's fine to pass on this one.
- DirectorFloria SigismondiStarsMackenzie DavisFinn WolfhardBrooklynn PrinceA young governess is hired to look after an orphaned girl, but the return of the girl's problematic brother uncovers secrets from their past. A modern take on Henry James' novella "The Turn of the Screw."... Wow. Terrible. Truly, truly terrible. There is absolutely nothing of value in this film other than competent cinematography. I've seen Finn Wolfhard act amazingly in a LOT of movies. He is worse than phoning it in in this, I can only guess because that was the direction he was given since everyone knows he is an amazing actor. So the only reason I was interested in this movie goes directly out the window, then add terrible writing, editing, etc. etc. and random scenes like the trap door spider that amount to absolutely nothing, and you've got this pile of crap. Right when it seems like you are finding out what's actually going on the movie tries to bail on itself and then just ends. Slight spoilers I guess but... there's nothing to spoil because, there is nothing to spoil. It jumps right from the end of an action scene to another scene earlier in the movie, in a way that makes you wonder if the disc skipped back even though you saw the transition. Then a bunch of random things happen is if the movie is playing out again in a different way. And at first I'm thinking, "Ok, this still doesn't make sense but maybe it could be interesting. Run, Lola Run is one of my favorite movies so I'm ok with seeing where this goes." Then the credits start rolling... what? This movie is terrible.
- DirectorMichael AlmereydaStarsEthan HawkeEve HewsonEli A. SmithA freewheeling take on visionary inventor Nikola Tesla, his interactions with Thomas Edison and J.P. Morgan's daughter Anne, and his breakthroughs in transmitting electrical power and light. What, the hell, was this? Badly made, random 4th wall breaks for no reason, terrible green screening, completely no direction, and even though they had a character talking to you directly about frikkin Google every so often I was still lost as to what was even happening at the time. Watch The Current War, not this crap.
