1. Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)

PG-13 | 147 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

87 Metascore

Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.

Director: Christopher McQuarrie | Stars: Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg

Votes: 378,150 | Gross: $220.16M

My Number 1 favorite is Mission: Impossible - Fallout. I saw this movie in the movie theater in August 14th 2018 and I know this is fans best film in the franchise or been Tom Cruise's best film by many of his fans! It is the best one in the series. They should have end it here. Thrilling from start to finish with intrigue, action and romance crackling throughout, this is the new standard in non-superhero action films. Add to that Tom Cruise doing his own crazy stunts and it is indisputable that Mission: Impossible is better than Bond, better than Bourne. What follows is a modern classic: director Chris McQuarrie achieves his finest work, luxuriating in the bumper 150-minute runtime to deliver a carefully crafted series of epic sequences. They range from the intimate – Henry Cavill’s reloading arms in a bathroom fight has broken the internet a dozen times over – to the jaw-droppingly spectacular. Tom Cruise broke his ankle for real while jumping across London rooftops and it’s not even the second or third most ridiculous act in Fallout. This sixth part of the franchise continues several of the situations established in the previous work, Rogue nation, also directed by Christopher McQuarrie. In addition, the filmmaker takes up other previous ideas, exploring the twists that marked the first and third films, as well as the notion of loyalty to the team members, seen in the third and fourth, and the protection of loved ones, as in the second and in the bedroom. This not only creates thematic unity in the series but also helps to reinforce the protagonist's personality. Even repeating starting points previously seen, such as the rescue of nuclear weapons, the dismantling of secret associations and the search for double agents, there is a new topic to be discussed in the "Fallout". Something that was always present in Hunt's story, but that had never been addressed literally: his own humanity. This is the greatest homage that the film pays to the complete saga. After all, how to forget how many times the agent has already put his life, and that of all humanity, in danger to save those he loves. That relay from before, with forgettable characters replacing forgettable characters, no longer exists. Exceptional control by the filmmaker in what he wants for the franchise, in the second film under his command, is exactly what allows Mission: Impossible - Fallout to be an apex of the genre. McQuarrie tells a story, in the usual conspiratorial molds, being told under a superficial layer. The most impressive thing is to see how Cruise still avoids the use of stunts in most scenes. Not exactly because of the difficulty of these, which are really difficult without any further obstacles, but because of their age. In one scene, the actor even broke his ankle and went uncut, limping, but firmly on his Ethan's body (and delayed filming later, of course). Cruise is undoubtedly an actor who is never limited to an "autopilot". Fly helicopters - and hang from them! -, driving cars at high speed, jumping over buildings and running as if there was no tomorrow, all done in the most realistic way possible, even if we are facing a character who practices impossible acts are some of his most notable feats. This without mentioning the most dramatic part that the actor knows how to conduct in full.

2. Mission: Impossible (1996)

PG-13 | 110 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

59 Metascore

An American agent, under false suspicion of disloyalty, must discover and expose the real spy without the help of his organization.

Director: Brian De Palma | Stars: Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Emmanuelle Béart, Henry Czerny

Votes: 470,308 | Gross: $180.98M

My Second favorite is the original Mission: Impossible film directed by Brian De Palma who directed this movie perfectly! In the original TV series character Jim Phelps was actually the head of the IMF and he was a good guy. Ethan Hunt played by Tom Cruise never existed in the series before! Jim Phelps been a bad guy played by Jon Voight. Peter Graves who played Jim Phelps hated the idea about turning his character around. Even tough the movie is not like TV Series or the fan's series I enjoy the film. I have always enjoyed this film so much. The original Mission: Impossible I love to death!!!! Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who is framed for the murders of his entire team in Prague. What follows is a pressure-cooker of a spy thriller as Hunt rages against the machine to infiltrate the CIA in one of cinema’s greatest escapades. I love the sequence on the train I love the action sequence with the helicopter in that tunel. I love the helicopter explosion. I love practical stunts the action once again. Everything about this movie is a bad-ass!!! I also love that Ethan Hunt is one man army bringing down a mole in the IMF organization by him self. Luther Stickell first appeard in this film, in the original script Luther Stickell suppose to die but Tom Cruise argued about that idea to Paramount because he liked the friendship between Ethan and Luther. Was nice to see Jean Reno in this movie. Stealing the list from CIA was ballsy and briliant idea in this movie. I remember watching this movie on VHS by my aunt back in 2005 when I was on visit by her. I have taped this film and watch the film and also other Tom Cruise films. This is the original and the movie that started all.

3. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)

PG-13 | 131 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

75 Metascore

Ethan and his team take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF.

Director: Christopher McQuarrie | Stars: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg

Votes: 410,946 | Gross: $195.04M

My Third favorite Mission: Impossible Film is Rogue Nation! For many reasons I love this film to death. Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust was excellent choice as a female lead cast. The movie felt realistic by time to time. The action sequences are very dangerous in this film. The airplane scenes in the beginning of the movie were dangerous. The car chases and the motorcycle chases was very dangerous the most dangerous stunts Tom Cruise ever did. Nice to see Alec Baldwin in this movie as a CIA Agent. He played Jack Ryan CIA Agent in a John McTiernan film The Hunt for Red October (1990). Great direction by Christopher McQuarrie he directed Jack Reacher his first movie with Tom Cruise which I like and this was his first Mission: Impossible movie he directed. Was nice to see Jeremy Renner as William Brendt from Ghost Protocole and of course Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. Ethan Hunt been now a Rogue IMF Agent goes after a shadowy and deadly rogue organization called the Syndicate who framed him by and make him in to a wanted fugitive. I love this movie to death, that is why it is my second favorite film in Mission: Impossible franchise.

4. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)

PG-13 | 132 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

73 Metascore

The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization's name.

Director: Brad Bird | Stars: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton

Votes: 528,436 | Gross: $209.40M

My Fourth Favorite Mission: Impossible is Ghost Protocol. It just become my third favorite Mission: Impossible Film. I watched this film in Thursday Honestly I enjoyed it. I don't know what people are bitching about it. Tom Cruise on the sequence when Ethan Hunt scales the outside of the Burj Khalifa tower himself without the use of a stunt double. The Burj Khalifa tower is the tallest building in the world at 2,722 feet, or 829.8 meters. Cruise dangled outside the tower at approximately 1,700 feet, or 518 meters, that's the only balsy scene in the whole franchise you will ever see. I think when this movie was released fans argued that this is the best Mission: Impossible film. To me it is not the best in the franchise. The sand scene was okay. Michael Nyqvist R.I.P. he was in John Wick (2014) and another actor passed away who played a villian in this franchise. The tall bulding scene in my opinion is very dangerous and ballsy. Tom Cruise is a mad man. He is a living legend. Best of the Best. The King of all kings!!!!! Léa Seydoux is in this movie. She gets kicked by jane Carter in the belly I wish the actress would really fall down that high. Why? Because than she wouldn't have been in Spectre! I hate Spectre! The worst James Bond 007 Movie of all time. I wish i would have seen this movie in movie teater but sudly I didn't at the time. Brad Bird his first live action did a good job directing this film. "Mission Acomplish!!!" Tom Cruise was fantastic in this movie!!!!

5. Mission: Impossible II (2000)

PG-13 | 123 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

59 Metascore

IMF agent Ethan Hunt is sent to Sydney to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called "Chimera".

Director: John Woo | Stars: Tom Cruise, Dougray Scott, Thandiwe Newton, Ving Rhames

Votes: 377,704 | Gross: $215.41M

My Fifth Favorite Mission: Impossible is Mission: Impossible II is considered by manny of fans been one of the worst Mission Impossible films ever and they are all right!!!!!! This movie fucking sucks and it was the worst sequel ever!!!! Not anymore. Now is Dead Reckoning (Part One) One of the worst Mission Impossible films I have ever seen!!!!! Here is my explanation: Why this movie is bad and did not worked and why is considered by many fans as one of the worst Mission: Impossible films ever: One of the main problems for this fiasco is John Woo! With Windtalkers this is one is considered one of Woo's worst films he did. Because the movie is overlong, boring by time to time and silly. Trough whole movie there is bearly any action scene in the film. The love story between Nyah and Ethan is not believable enough. The stunts are un realistic. There is stil John Woo's slow motion and doves. The fight sequence on the finale was a unrealistic! Dougray Scott was not convincing enough as the main villian. But there are some good car chase scenes that I liked. Tom Cruise on a motorvcycle I loved it. I liked John Polson as Billy Baird one of Ethan's team. It was shot in Wales, Australia. I love the opening scene Rock climbing. I love the music score by Hans Zimmer which I enjoy the main theme. Back in 2000 this movie was a hit! Not the worst movie I seen. I Love Hard Target (1993), Broken Arrow (1996) and Hard Boiled (1992) to death, those are my top 3 favorite John Woo movies that John Woo did. The Killer, A Better Tomorrow II are much better action movies than Mission: Impossible II. Even Paycheck (2003) that's get crap on is much better action movie than Mission: impossible II. The idea about chasing virus was not convincing enough and wasn't that idea used in Broken Arrow (1996)? Yes it was! Far more worse than Face/Off (1997) and I hate Face/Off (1997) but this movie is worse! Mission: Impossible II not a good sequel but I will put above III! Because I don't like the cast in that movcie and the music score and shaky cam. This movie at least did not had shaky cam at all. The action sequence with a motorcycle Tom Cruise driving was the only decent action scene that I like. Anthony Hopkins is in this movie and he is believable than Laurence Fishburne. Could have been a good movie, but it is a wasted opportunity.

6. Mission: Impossible III (2006)

PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

66 Metascore

IMF agent Ethan Hunt comes into conflict with a dangerous and sadistic arms dealer who threatens his life and his fiancée in response.

Director: J.J. Abrams | Stars: Tom Cruise, Michelle Monaghan, Ving Rhames, Philip Seymour Hoffman

Votes: 390,742 | Gross: $134.03M

My Least favorite Mission: Impossible is Mission: Impossible III. Why is my least favorite now. Beacuse it has too m uch shaky cam, I just recently re watch the film it has really way too much shaky cam every action sequence. Fuck Ethan's goirlfriend fucking wife, His shitty romance or his women! Fuck this movie!!! His team also sucks!!! By the finale he does not kill the bad guy but his girlfriend shoots him and Tom Cruise does not jack shit!!!! I don't like Michael Giacchino's score in this movie. Rabbits foot what the hell is Rabbits Foot t all. Laurence Fishburne is in this movie. Terrible choice for IMF director! Terrible villian!! Fuck you Tom Cruise and your wedding to Julia in this movie! Fuck You!!! This is J.J. Abrams first movie he ever directed. Tom Cruise watched his TV Series Alias the first season in few days on DVD and asked the creator of the spy series if he would have been interested directing his Mission: Impossible 3d film and J.J. Abrams took on the project. The same year while promoting his new upcoming movie Mission: Impossible III, Tom Cruise proposed Katie Holmes at Eiffel Tower in June 17th, 2005 that's why one of the many reasons his character Ethan get's married in this film. Ethan's fiance Julia played by Michelle Monaghan looks almost like Katie Holmes. I even watched interviews that time with Michelle Monaghan saying she looks like Katie Holmes and she also said she had fun working on this film with Tom Cruise. Maggie Q is in this movie from Live Free or Die Hard and Nikita the Reboot in this movie is a sexy bad-ass!!!! Philip Seymour Hoffman R.I.P. is a bad-ass in this movie as the main villain. It was hard decision between Rogue Nation and this movie but the 3d movie! I will still put the first movie over this film.Because the first movie is a classic!!! Great direction by J.J. Abrams, great cast, great action sequences and dangerous stunts.

7. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)

PG-13 | 163 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

81 Metascore

Ethan Hunt and his IMF team must track down a dangerous weapon before it falls into the wrong hands.

Director: Christopher McQuarrie | Stars: Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg

Votes: 246,933 | Gross: $172.14M

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning (Part One) is a motherfucking son of a bitch! Peace a garbage movie I have ever seen! I saw this movie in a movie theater! A let down from Mission: Impossible - Fallout!!!!! Am I the only one that hated this film? Overrated snore fest!!! I saw this film in the movie theater. This movie has nothing! It is a piece of shit movie! They copy James Bond 007 For Your Eyes Only the same story. British submarine gets blown. The chase in this movie is the same as For Your Eyes Only, it is the chase for the key just like a communication device, known as an A.T.A.C. was in For Your Eyes Only. Fuck this movie! I was so dissapointed! The action is lackluster. IIsa (Rebecca Ferguson) dies in this movie! Grace also caused IIsa's death, which is glossed over and passed off as IIsa sacrificing her life for Grace just why and for what? Grace is the same thief as Nyah Hall from Mission: Impossible II she becomes love interest to Ethan just like was in Part II. Kittridge is back after Mission: Impossible, the first movie. Yet the same scene we saw on the train from the first movie. Tom Cruise jumps from the mountain from the motorcycle with a parachute on a train. I already saw that scene in GoldenEye 007 Open scene from Hoover Dam in which Bond jumps with a motorcycle off the cliff and catches an airplane. That was already in GoldenEye. Tons of CGI!!!!! Story is mediocre! Fight scenes are ridiculous. This movie is 3 hrs long and boring. This movie copy's Mission: Impossible 1 and 2, For Your Eyes Only and GoldenEye! Fuck this motherfucking movie, man!!!! This is the best Mission: Impossible movie?! Are you guys insane?!!!!!! Are you people really that stupid?!!!! I am the only one that hates this film! Tom Cruise did not do anything new with this movie! To me this is the worst film in the franchise!!!! Even Part II is better!!! Yes I have said it!!!!! Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away?!!!!! I'll catch MI: Dead Reckoning Part 2 at home on Paramount-plus when it streams at no cost. What a disappointment after MI: Fallout, this just feels like a step back. I can't even say "lazy writing", it's just too simple, unoriginal and almost old fashioned. "The entity" is a bunch of noise lines on a screen, REALLY? Grace is an annoying but beautiful princess in distress, REALLY? Gabriel is an old T-1000 that feels cringe in his every move, REALLY? The weird blonde bounty hunter changes all her life motivations because Ethan doesn't kill her, REALLY? I mean these are just some examples, it's bad. Luther Strickell disappears after 1hr and 30 minutes in the film and does not show up for the rest of the film. The rest of the film is with Benji. No beautiful girls in this film like Part III had Zhen (Maggie Q) or Julia (Michelle Monaghan). The only reason why Hayley Atwell was in this movie was because Tom Cruise is fucking her in the ass!!!! Because they are dating you idiots!!!! Fuck this motherfucking movie! Killing IIsa Faust one of my favorite characters!!!!!! This movie made $542,116,833 worldwide and yet cost Tom Cruise $290,000,000 the most expensive film in the franchise to be made! Tom Cruise please retire and leave this franchise alone. Fallout ended the franchise perfectly. Why did you have to do this film? Fuck You!!!!!
