Vanessa Rubio shares with IMDbPro her best advice for aspiring actors, lessons learned on the set of Cobra Kai, and more! 4 of 6
IMDbPro: Do you check out IMDbPro before an audition? Any fun audition stories?
Vanessa Rubio: Yes, I check IMDbPro before auditions. It’s good for me to get a grasp of the possible tone and purpose of the story. Many actors know that “when you book a vacation, you book a job.” I had a call back for the second season of BONDiNG on Netflix after I got back from a vacation, and I was terribly jet lagged. My voice was sore, I overslept, and it was raining—and I had this big monologue in the scene. I just had to trust that the work was already there, because under those circumstances, it could have gone badly. The situation also allowed me to feel like I had nothing else to lose. So I embraced it and was easy with myself and thankfully, I booked the role.
