- DirectorMarco Tullio GiordanaStarsLuigi Lo CascioLuigi Maria BurruanoLucia Sardo"I cento passi" (one hundred steps) was the distance between the Impastatos' house and the house of Tano Badalamenti, an important Mafia boss, in the small Sicilian town of Cinisi. The movie is the story of Peppino Impastato, a young left-wing activist who in the late seventies (when almost nobody dared to speak about the Mafia, and several politicians maintained that the Mafia did not even exist) repeatedly denounced Badalamenti's criminal activities and the whole Mafia system, by using a small local radio station to broadcast his political pronouncements in the form of ironic humour. In 1978 Peppino (30 years old) was killed by an explosion. The police archived the case as an accident or a suicide, but his friends never accepted this conclusion. Note: This is a true story. More than twenty years after Peppino's death, the case has been re-opened. Tano Badalamenti, meanwhile, has been convicted in the USA for drug trafficking.

- DirectorDaniele GaglianoneStarsValerio MastandreaBassirou BalldeMamon BhuiyanThe ostensibly simple story of a sympathetic veteran teacher giving Italian lessons to a weekly class of diverse immigrants is given infinitely more depth and complexity by the manner in which director Daniele Gaglianone renders his story. Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, truth and artifice, and between documentary and drama, Gaglianone has created a film within a film. You see the apparent artifice of Gaglianone's crew using professionals, including the noted film actor Valerio Mastandrea as the teacher, interlinked with 'real' immigrant protagonists, studying the language to improve their chances of employment and of gaining a permanent residence permit. Thus in the course of the lessons there is simultaneously the painful and upsetting relation of the students' personal stories but also humour, as they interact and share their humanity, bridging cultural differences, united in their striving to make a better life for themselves.
- DirectorDaniele LuchettiStarsStefano AccorsiStefania MontorsiGiorgio PasottiDuring World War II four Italian university students in Veneto join the resistance against the Fascist government.
- StarsSimone CorrenteGianni FerreriRoberto NobileLife and work in a police station of Rome. The chief of the station, Giovanna Scalise, has arrived in town after a long period passed in the city of Palermo, Sicily, where she fought against mafia. Now she catches criminals with the help of Mauro (the crazy guy of the group), Manrico (the cool one), inspector Ardenzi (who is married with Angela, the psychologist of the station), Parmesan (the old one) and the young Nina (who loves the handsome Benvenuti). Distretto di polizia is a TV series of action, sometimes dramatic, sometimes happy, with a peculiar attention to human affairs.
