11 Things to Expect From "The Walking Dead" Season 73 of 11
There may be more than one major death right off the bat
Sorry for the bat pun, but yeah. Don't go thinking this is just about who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale.
Fans picked up on a possible slip-up from director/producer/special effects guru Greg Nicotero when he tried to defend the cliffhanger to Entertainment Weekly, saying, "If we would have shown the deaths, then they wouldn’t have felt our characters in Season 7 the way they need to." Deaths, plural? Hmm.
Nicotero added fuel to the fear fire during an appearance on AMC's "Geeking Out". He openly warned that who Negan killed would not be the only major event of the premiere. "There's so much more that happens in that episode that is more heartbreaking than that moment, that by the time the episode's over it's almost too much. It's that intense."
Speaking of intense, the Negan/Rick premiere clip showed Negan stealing Rick's hatchet, then dragging him into the RV; even if Rick survives that, what will Negan do to him? Something held over from the "Walking Dead" comic book perhaps, playing off the "right hand man" reference?
