- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsClint EastwoodEli WallachLee Van CleefA bounty hunting scam joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery. As a huge fan of the western genre i truly believe that this is the best movie ever made and will always remain as my favorite movie off all time. A masterpiece from the legendary Sergio Leone. Also including the best score of all time.
- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsMartin SheenMarlon BrandoRobert DuvallA U.S. Army officer serving in Vietnam is tasked with assassinating a renegade Special Forces Colonel who sees himself as a god.The greatest interpretation of the Vietnam War. Has many legendary scenes in it. Including the breathtaking performance of one of the best actors in the history: Marlon Brando.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsHenry FondaCharles BronsonClaudia CardinaleA mysterious stranger with a harmonica joins forces with a notorious desperado to protect a beautiful widow from a ruthless assassin working for the railroad.A Classic tale of revenge. I consider it being one of the best in the history of film and in the western genre. Sergio Leone truly has a way to make masterpieces. And talking about the great Sergio Leone, you also have to talk about Ennio Morricone who once again blew my mind with the score in this movie.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.A great movie. Possibly should be higher on this list, but after a lot of thinking i find it satisfying to put it here. Heath Ledger is the word that comes in mind when you talk about the Batman movies. The reason for that is very simple. By acting in the level he did i can say in all honesty that his performance in this movie is an all time great. One of the greatest single performances of all time. But it's not only that, because the movie itself is also very entertaining and good.
- DirectorDamien ChazelleStarsMiles TellerJ.K. SimmonsMelissa BenoistA promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential. It's very important for me that a movie gives you more that one way to interpret what you just saw. This is one of those movies. Great scenes, icredible acting and interesting characters with a lot of depth. The ending scene of this movie is one of my favorite movie scenes. For the reason that you can interpret it in ways more than one. "Not quite my tempo" one of the greatest lines in it's simplycity.
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsJoaquin PhoenixRobert De NiroZazie BeetzDuring the 1980s, a failed stand-up comedian is driven insane and turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City while becoming an infamous psychopathic crime figure.Heath Ledger finally has some strong competition. No one has ever come this close but, Joaquin Phoenix sure does it. This also shows the level that the Heath left behind him is very high.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJohn TravoltaUma ThurmanSamuel L. JacksonThe lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.Tarantino being one of my favorite directors will have many movies in this list and it is quite difficult for me to put his movies in order, but this rings a bell quite a lot and might possibly be his best work. For me this has a very special place in my heart, because it is the first movie i ever saw from Quentin Tarantino. The big reason why i love Pulp Fiction is that it does not only have phenomenal acting and a great cast, but it also makes you think. What happens where and when and most importantly why.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsJack NicholsonShelley DuvallDanny LloydA family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future.I saw this movie at a very young age for the first time. Which was a mistake, because it simply is the best horror movie of all time. It's not only scary, but it is also psychological. This movie has many brilliant scenes where you really have to clear your mind and listen so that you can understand the real meaning behind everything. Jack Nicholson by being on of the best actors of all time does incredible work in this movie and only for that reason this will be one of the greatest movies ever made. And that is just a one little thing.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMatthew ModineR. Lee ErmeyVincent D'OnofrioA pragmatic U.S. Marine observes the dehumanizing effects the Vietnam War has on his fellow recruits from their brutal boot camp training to the bloody street fighting in Hue.The list continues with the same director and there is a reason for that. In my opinion Stanley Kubrick has done a lot of *beep* but also a lot of great stuff. This is one of them. The reason i like this movie is the great acting and dark theme that surrounds it through the whole movie.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsLeonardo DiCaprioMatt DamonJack NicholsonAn undercover cop and a mole in the police attempt to identify each other while infiltrating an Irish gang in South Boston.Great actors, great story and a deserving winner of the best picture award. - DirectorIrvin KershnerStarsMark HamillHarrison FordCarrie FisherAfter the Rebel Alliance are overpowered by the Empire, Luke Skywalker begins his Jedi training with Yoda, while his friends are pursued across the galaxy by Darth Vader and bounty hunter Boba Fett.As a huge Star Wars fan i cannot ignore the greatest Star Wars movie there is. Quite often i find it interesting when the antagonist beats you to it. And in this movie that just happens. Big reason for that is that the antagonist in this movie is Darth freaking Vader. One of the most iconic characters in the movie history.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsRobert De NiroJames WoodsElizabeth McGovernA former Prohibition-era Jewish gangster returns to the Lower East Side of Manhattan 35 years later, where he must once again confront the ghosts and regrets of his old life.A massive, epic and phenomenal story that keeps you interested from the first scene to the last one. This movie literally has everything in it. There is no way you can call this anything else than a perfect picture that deserves all the credit in the world.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsClint EastwoodLee Van CleefGian Maria VolontèTwo bounty hunters with the same intentions team up to track down a gang of outlaws led by a psychotic Mexican bandit, who is plotting an audacious bank robbery. One part of the legendary Dollars trilogy. Lee Van Cleef by being the best antagonist actor of all time makes this movie great. One of those movies where a scene can be acted incredibly well without saying a word.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsBrad PittDiane KrugerEli RothIn Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a plan to assassinate Nazi leaders by a group of Jewish U.S. soldiers coincides with a theatre owner's vengeful plans for the same.A Great movie. What can i say? The Acting of Christoph Waltz is high class. The movie itself is brutal, dark and in a way quite funny. Which is very unusual. One of the best movies from Tarantino. A must see movie that doesn't let you down.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJamie FoxxChristoph WaltzLeonardo DiCaprioWith the help of a German bounty-hunter, a freed slave sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner in Mississippi. If Christoph Waltz was great in the Basterds. In This one he was even better if it's even possible. This is a great story and includes the great genre i love so much. This movie has one of my favorite scenes that i have seen where Leonardo Dicaprio prooved once again why he is a great actor.
- DirectorJohn G. AvildsenStarsSylvester StalloneTalia ShireBurt YoungA small-time Philadelphia boxer gets a supremely rare chance to fight the world heavyweight champion in a bout in which he strives to go the distance for his self-respect.The most inspiring film about sports. - DirectorJonathan DemmeStarsJodie FosterAnthony HopkinsScott GlennA young F.B.I. cadet must receive the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims.Creepy is a good word to describe the performance of the great Anthony Hopkins. - DirectorNicolas Winding RefnStarsRyan GoslingCarey MulliganBryan CranstonA mysterious Hollywood action film stuntman gets in trouble with gangsters when he tries to help his neighbor's husband rob a pawn shop while serving as his getaway driver. For a long time this has been a very important movie for me. Easily on of my favorite movies and always will be. This has a great deal of calmness in it, but also knows when to light up. The fact that the main characters name is never revealed makes it even more fantastic. Sometimes a little mystique is great.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsLeonardo DiCaprioJonah HillMargot RobbieBased on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.Inspiring, exciting and comedic. From a great director with even greater cast. Dicaprios best performances come from this movie and it's a shame he didn't win his academic award from this movie.
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsMel GibsonSophie MarceauPatrick McGoohanScottish warrior William Wallace leads his countrymen in a rebellion to free his homeland from the tyranny of King Edward I of England.Mel Gibsons true masterpiece. - DirectorRidley ScottStarsDenzel WashingtonRussell CroweChiwetel EjioforAn outcast New York City cop is charged with bringing down Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas, whose real life inspired this partly biographical film. One of Denzel Washingtons great performances that kept me interested through the whole movie. Based on true events makes this even more interesting for the reasons that are quite obvious. Usually fiction is more interesting than facts. In this the case it's the opposite.
- DirectorMike NicholsStarsDustin HoffmanAnne BancroftKatharine RossA disillusioned college graduate finds himself torn between his older lover and her daughter. The ending scene in this movie is one of the greatest scenes i have ever seen. Reason for that is, that the ending scene is like a picture that shows a thousand words. You know what is happening even that the actors dont say a word. The impressions in the faces tell you everything.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L. JacksonKurt RussellJennifer Jason LeighIn the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters. Some old blood and some new blood. - DirectorGavin O'ConnorStarsBen AffleckAnna KendrickJ.K. SimmonsAs a math savant uncooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities, and the body count starts to rise.Easily the best movie of 2016. - DirectorAlex GarlandStarsAlicia VikanderDomhnall GleesonOscar IsaacA young programmer is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in synthetic intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a highly advanced humanoid A.I.A movie that makes you think is always welcome to my mind. - DirectorMichael CiminoStarsRobert De NiroChristopher WalkenJohn CazaleAn in-depth examination of the ways in which the Vietnam War impacts and disrupts the lives of several friends in a small steel mill town in Pennsylvania.Highly psychological film with great acting. - DirectorCurtis HansonStarsKevin SpaceyRussell CroweGuy PearceAs corruption grows in 1950s Los Angeles, three policemen - one strait-laced, one brutal, and one sleazy - investigate a series of murders with their own brand of justice. For me this is quite similar to the movie Heat. I dont really know why i get that feeling, but there sure is something in there. A great story from an interesting time. Very well written plot with great twists.

- DirectorMartin BrestStarsAl PacinoChris O'DonnellJames RebhornA prep school student needing money agrees to "babysit" a blind man, but the job is not at all what he anticipated. My favorite movie from Al Pacino.
