- DirectorPaolo CavaraGualtiero JacopettiFranco ProsperiStarsStefano SibaldiRossano BrazziYves KleinA "shockumentary" consisting of a collection of mostly real archive footage displaying mankind at its most depraved and perverse, displaying bizarre rites, cruel behavior and bestial violence.Mondo Cane is not #1 on my list because it is my fave or the best, but because it is the first of underground shock socio cultural releases. While lacking in many regards, its still a classic must see.

And I don't even eat meat. Well not usually. A great eye opening doc about veggie terrorism as well as the twisted lengths PETA will go to in order to keep animals from being food or pets-including murdering them in some sort of twisted heroic rational in which could only be understood by them. Just watch this one.
- DirectorRobinson DevorStarsCoyoteJenny EdwardsJohn EdwardsA look at the life of an Enumclaw, Washington man who died as a result of an unusual encounter with a horse.Oh boy...This is a doc about the Enumclaw, Washington man who died as a result of sex with a horse, and thus causing said state to wake up and change the laws. But its not a straight forward doc about that really, its an artsy fartsy attempt at humanizing the whole thing...But for the rest of us freaks, we know the dude as "Mister Hands" the horse *beeper* who used to put out these porn tapes online. Anywhoo, this doc isn't what one would expect bc its indie artsy but I thought it was pretty trippy, especially when you consider it was even allowed to be made and shown at festivals.
- DirectorPaul von StoetzelStarsLarry C. BrubakerTodd CoberyLinda FlandersA probe into the urban myth of the snuff film: one of the most controversial, elusive and vile forms of video. This is an excellent examination on the myth of the snuff film, the best I have seen thusfar. While there are no real answers within this documentary, that does not make it any less eerie or thought provoking.
- DirectorSean DonnellyStarsKelly McCormickTiffanyJeff TurnerTwo individuals, Jeff and Kelly, claim to be in love with the 80's pop singer Tiffany.Wew! Good thing I'm not an aging pop star, because I've got enough damned freaks I have to deal with as just a regular type gal who's never sang at the mall...So if you haven't put 2 and 2 together by now, I think Were Alone Now is a documentary about people obsessed with 1980s pop star Tiffany. Oh wait a minute, scratch that: The two people who are still her fans. We have Jeff, a 50-year-old man with Asperger's syndrome, and Kelly, an "intersexual" who claims to have had an inspirational friendship with the singer when they were teens. Other than being major outcasts who lack social skills of any sort, these two bare the lone common bond of pop princess love, which makes them feel safer and much more at ease in the universe. Ok. This *beep* is AMAZING! No, no, not because of the social rejects in which it depicts- hey, its not their fault they have really bad taste in music... Its zingingly amazing because it was made in 2008!!!! Yes, many years after the Tiffany phenomenon went south and under.
- DirectorWilliam L. BoydBrooke McCarterStarsCorey HaimJudy HaimActor Corey Haim hosts his own explitation video, which takes viewers through a day in his life as he attempts to prove how wholesome he is.Corey Haim: Me Myself and I... Um....Does this really need explaining? What a hot mess this is!
- DirectorCasey AffleckStarsJoaquin PhoenixAntony LangdonCarey PerloffDocuments Joaquin Phoenix's transition from the acting world to a career as an aspiring rapper.Joaquin Phoenix pretending to be insane for the public...Or him pretending to be sane acting crazy whilst trying to convince people he is normal. I dunno, he's cooky pants, that's for sure. A great watch.

Members of the so-called "Bohemian Club" Include. The Grove is where America's power players meet once a year to get hammered, dress up in hooded robes and worship an owl effigy, and rent young male prostitutes from SF- ehem, "allegedly". Oh yeah its also were the majority of big political biz decisions are made, such as who will or will not be running for president and this is where the Manhattan Project was birthed (prob while drunk).
- DirectorAndy NehlStarsKev CarmodyAuriel AndrewRoger KnoxBuried Country is a documentary about the unique cultural phenomenon of Australian Aboriginal country music. Based on the book by Clinton Walker - who co-wrote the film with director Andy Nehl, conducted its interviews and produced its soundtrack album - narrated by singer/songwriter Kev Carmody and shot by Warwick Thornton, it told the story of the genre through the eyes and voices of a dozen of its artists, replete with rare archive footage and contemporary performances. Hailed all round the world, it grew in 2016 into a touring live stageshow. If you, much like me, have ever wondered how exactly country music raised awareness of the acute mistreatment of the Aboriginal race and helped to spark the civil rights movement in Australia than this film is for you. And yes, it really is meant to be a serious documentary.
- DirectorAndrew GurlandTodd PhillipsA documentary exploring what it happens when you pledge to a frat house.
- DirectorJennifer ArnoldStarsMathew BoseMark DressnerThis documentary emphasizes that people have strong feelings about the mullet - very popular hair style among lesbians, race car drivers and others. The general attitude about the mullet is not all positive; some people are even harassed for having one. The director toured the USA asking one and all what they thought about this coif. The journey is not only hilariously funny, it's also enlightening. Turns out, the mullet isn't just a dyke cut. Musicians, bikers and Latino soccer players all love that style.
- DirectorJacob YoungStarsWattie GreenDorsey WhiteJerry WhiteThis documentary short, produced for West Virginia public TV's "Different Drummer" series, introduces us to Jesco White, a hard-living, tap-dancing Boone County resident whose repeated run-ins with the law have interfered with his dream of becoming as renowned a "mountain dancer" as his late father, D. Ray White. We meet Jesco's three distinct personalities; the gentle and loving Jesse, the violent and dangerous Jesco, and the extremely strange Elvis. We also encounter various members of Jesco's family, all nearly as eccentric as Jesco himself. You will ask, "Are these people for real?" Yes, they are.
- DirectorJulien NitzbergStarsJ. Parker Bazzle IIBig & RichPonty's CamperA year in the life of the White family, well known for Jesco White, the star of the "Dancing Outlaw" documentary.Break out the banjo for this hayseed Holocaust! Heres an amazing look into the modern Appalachian outlaw family of Jesco White [Dancing Outlaw], whose reputation spans 3 or more generations. While this is not a new story to anyone familiar with southern mountain life and family feuds throughout history, the Whites surely are an interesting bunch. OK, these are uneducated and criminal minded folks. But they are street (mountain?) smart as hell and have no conscience when it comes to getting what they want when in survival skill mode. The Whites are a fascinating depiction of a family who by extreme isolation mixed with some real down hard luck over time, are no different than inner city gangstas really, sociologically speaking. The Whites too, like many other downtrodden groups, have a story to tell in regards to how they got to be in the place they are in. And yes, for the record, families like this DO exist and always will within mountainous regions of WV, Va, Ky, TN etc. [lets remember there is a difference btwn Hillbillies and rednecks and the Whites indeed are Hillbillies]. Viewers will be sucked in before the opening credits even roll, trust me on this.
- DirectorWerner HerzogStarsJake HessGene ScottWerner HerzogThe documentary follows Gene Scott, famous televangelist involved with constant fights against FCC, who tried to shut down his TV show during the 1970's and 1980's, and even argues with his viewers, complaining about their lack of support by not sending enough money to keep going with the show. Werner Herzog presents the man, his thoughts and also includes some of his uncharacteristic programs.Werner Herzog’s notorious and much sought after documentary on the most crazy-like-a-fox televangelist of them all, Dr. Gene Scott.
