8. Production Design is Going to be Magical
As Season 2 takes us from the Upper West Side to the Catskills, with a jaunt to Paris in between, the costumes and production design are as enchanting as ever. "We have just a trove of magicians," says Amy Sherman-Palladino. "We were very lucky to find Bill Groom and Donna Zakowska, who do our production design and our costumes. When you find mad, crazy, genius pirates like that, we just nod a lot." From the color palette to the silhouettes, they are responsible for conveying the fantastical mood we've fallen so deeply in love with. "The pink at the beginning is not the pink at the end, because Midge at the beginning is not the same person at the end," says Sherman-Palladino. "It's all about the content of the story."
