Does series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino feel the pressure of a sophomore slump? Not at all. There is a lot more story to tell before the dust in Midge Maisel’s life starts to settle. "The great thing about being able to do a character like Midge Maisel or Lorelei Gilmore is that their humor is used as a defense mechanism and it's how they navigate through the waters," says Sherman-Palladino, who excels in rapid-fire comedy. "Humor doesn't come from, 'My life is great.' It comes from, 'Life is awful.' It's a lot of working out what's going on inside." So, expect a bigger, better and more fantastical Season 2, when it returns on December 5. "Basically, we just decided we had to go for it," says Sherman-Palladino. "We have all of the pieces to go big or go home. We don’t go home. We never go home."
