Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 6) character dialogue by episode
This list ranks characters for each episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 6) by the amount of dialogue (measured in words) that they had in that episode. This list was inspired by an old web site, the The Hellmouth High's Line League (link via archive.org), which performed a similar analysis for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Like that site, this list will award medals to the top three finishers for each episode.
For each episode, the number of words that each characters speaks were calculated using transcripts available on the web. All characters with credited dialogue appear on the episode lists. If dialogue is credited to more than one character (i.e., two characters saying the same dialogue simultaneously), the dialogue is split evenly between the characters. This occasionally results in characters being credited with half words.
The data below are not perfectly accurate. For example, transcribing a bit of dialogue as "100%" will provide a slightly different result than if the dialogue were transcribed as "one hundred percent." Various sounds like a grunt or "um" or "uh-uh" or "hyah" may or may not be transcribed. Finally, I have noticed occasional errors in the transcriptions.
Subtitled words in languages other than English will count in dialogue totals.
Feel free to use the data below for your own projects, and leave a comment indicating where readers can see the results of the project.
Warning: This page contains spoilers at least as far as who does or does not appear in any given episode and how prominent that character is in the episode. It is advised that you do not look at the data from any episode that you have not already seen.

This was a tough episode. Simmons had more dialogue in this episode than any character has had in any other episode except for Simmons in "4,722 Hours." She only got a silver as Fitz set a new record for the most dialogue of any character in any episode of this show.

This episode is a good reminder of the advantage that knowldge can give a character. Had Simmons not arrived at the end of the episode to provide exposition, she would have fell between her grandson and her lab partner in fifth place. With the exposition, she snagged her first gold medal in 20 episodes, and, as seen below, snuck back ahead of Sarge for third place across the entire season. - CreatorMaurissa TancharoenJed WhedonJoss WhedonStarsClark GreggMing-Na WenBrett DaltonThe missions of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.Total for season 6, all characters with > 200 words.
