- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsTom HanksMarlon WayansIrma P. HallAn eccentric, if not charming Southern professor and his crew pose as a classical ensemble in order to rob a casino, all under the nose of his unsuspecting but sharp old landlady. Each and every screwball gag in this falls flat on its face, in ways that are either unfunny or downright embarassing to the considerable talent involved. Everybody has to fail once, and this is the Coen failure.
- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsTommy Lee JonesJavier BardemJosh BrolinViolence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong and over two million dollars in cash near the Rio Grande. At a few key junctures within the film, it reaches ecstatic heights of quality in pacing, storytelling and cinematography at once. The only complaint that can be made about this film is that these moments are too good.
They take you out of the story momentarily because your brain says: "Whoa. Wait. This is a REALLY GOOD MOVIE." - DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsBrad PittFrances McDormandGeorge ClooneyA disk containing mysterious information from a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous and daft gym employees who attempt to sell it.

- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsTim Blake NelsonWillie WatsonClancy BrownSix tales of life and violence in the Old West, following a singing gunslinger, a bank robber, a traveling impresario, an elderly prospector, a wagon train, and a perverse pair of bounty hunters.
- DirectorGeorge ClooneyStarsMatt DamonJulianne MooreOscar IsaacAs a 1950s suburban community self-destructs, a home invasion has sinister consequences for one seemingly normal family.Written by Coens. A sort of "attempt at Coenry" by director George Clooney, and watchable as a curio.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsLouise LasserBrion JamesPaul L. SmithA pair of whacked-out cartoon-like exterminator/hitmen kill the owner of a burglar-alarm company, and stalk the partner who hired them, his wife, and a nerd framed for the murder, who tells the story in flashback from the electric chair.Written by Coens. If the studio had allowed Raimi to cast Bruce Campbell as the lead, everyone would have enjoyed themselves and made a classic. Instead, we get this corny-yet-creepy mess. Still worth tracking down because its just too stylish and out-there to be boring.
- DirectorJ. Todd AndersonStarsMichael RapaportMichael JeterJohn Carroll LynchA man takes matters into his own hands when a pharmaceutical kingpin moves into his town to cause some real trouble.A Coen elbow nudged the script. This is a curiosity created by the Coens' storyboard artist. It's 100% successful in capturing...certain elements of style. Yet without a strong backbone of thoughtful narrative intent, the (delightfully) skewed-perspective adds no delicious twist. There's not a meaningful idea there to be twisted. A bunch of stylishly-odd things happen and there's Michael Rappaport. Some entertainment can be found if you can locate a copy.
