THE VAMPIRE DIARIES SEASON 5 RATINGS
This is the worst and most disappointing season of the show after s.8!!!!!
The first half was decent, but the second one flopped really much....
Marcus is one of the most lame, by any means, main villains ever seen. The doppelganger storyline was very stupid, flawed and not as interesting as it should. Elena and Caroline's time in the college wasn't shown very well. While Michael Malarkey was very convincing in the role, Enzo wasn't properly developed as a character. Watching Damon and Elena together didn't feel as awesome as before and the season finale aside from (SPOILERS!!!) giving Lexi an epic moment, Alaric his life back and an amazing cliffhanger left me unsatisfied.....
This season though had some strong pros too. Paul Wesley was at his absolute best this season as both Stefan and Silas and the respected storylines were very entertaining to watch. Ian Somerhalder, Candice King and particularly Nina Dobrev were superb as well. Caroline was also great and the some goes for the crossover with "The Originals". The saving grace of this season though was definitely Catherine, the writers knew exactly what to do with her and so her sub plot was outstanding!!!!!
Overall rating: 8.4/10
