The Godfather: Part II by Francis Ford Coppola
The Godfather films alongside Coppola's Apocalypse Now are films that stay in my memory like almost no other. I chose Godfather: Part II because of what it says about American immigrant identity, its ability to conjure complex sympathy for the antihero, and its extraordinary cinematic storytelling. I loved Coppola's Godfather series so much that one of my first films was a teenage homage to The Godfather starring American friends of mine on one of my first holidays to America!
