Editors' Picks: Our Favorites From the Week of Sept. 239 of 10
Casting News of the Week
Our obsession with the 2013 documentary 12 O'Clock Boys, a chronicle of Baltimore's dirt-bike culture and the adolescent kid Pug who wants nothing more than to ride with the big boys, has never waned since friends first showed us a worn-down screener DVD-R. This week the movie adaptation, which was first scripted by Moonlight's Barry Jenkins, took a giant step forward with the casting of Teyonah Parris and Jahi Winston. Seems like the narrative won't stray far from its source material as Winston landed the role of Mouse, a youth whose sole ambition is to join a group of riders known as the Midnight Clique.
