- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.I had high expectations for this movie, and it was able to surpass every single one of them. Toy Story 3 boasts masterful storytelling with a great cast of characters. This is also the only animated movie that has ever made me cry. It's just that powerful.
- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom. The movie that started it all for Pixar. Woody and Buzz are my favorite characters conceived by the studio. The film's premise is phenomenal, and its execution even more so.
- DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye.Yeah, I have three Toy Story movies in the top spots. What can I say, I just fell in love with the series! Toy Story 2 is a very good sequel. Viewers are introduced to interesting new characters and get to see the development of beloved originals. The existential plot revolving around Woody was surprisingly adult and quite intriguing.
- DirectorAndrew StantonStarsBen BurttElissa KnightJeff GarlinIn the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.Never before have I been so captivated by a pair of robots who can hardly even speak. Also, Pixar is somehow able to make their romance both touching and believable. I absolutely loved Pixar's representation of a dystopian future in this film.
- DirectorPete DocterDavid SilvermanLee UnkrichStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanMary GibbsIn order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think.Great world building with an endearing cast of characters. The synergy between the protagonists is fantastic. It also has a very touching ending.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonSamuel L. JacksonHolly HunterWhile trying to lead a quiet suburban life, a family of undercover superheroes are forced into action to save the world.Who doesn't love a good superhero movie? This one comes equipped with a detailed plot and memorable characters. And let's not forget the awesome action sequences!
- DirectorPete DocterKemp PowersStarsJamie FoxxTina FeyGraham NortonJoe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.
- DirectorAndrew StantonLee UnkrichStarsAlbert BrooksEllen DeGeneresAlexander GouldAfter his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.A grand adventure in which a clownfish must travel across oceans to find his lost son. I love how Pixar showcases a ton of different aquatic lifeforms in this film and gives them all unique characteristics that make them all really stand out.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.Pixar once again works their magic by creating an expansive and beautiful world with colorful characters that is all literally just confined within someone's head. This film is just so creative.
- DirectorLee UnkrichAdrian MolinaStarsAnthony GonzalezGael García BernalBenjamin BrattAspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer. The animation used for the land of the dead is fantastic. The twists are pretty good, though a bit predictable. It also has a great selection of music. There were some really touching moments in it too.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonHolly HunterSarah VowellThe Incredibles family takes on a new mission which involves a change in family roles: Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world. An incredible sequel, but it sort of resets some of the characters' development from the previous movie. Jack-Jack is the real MVP.
- DirectorDan ScanlonStarsTom HollandChris PrattJulia Louis-DreyfusIn a magical world full of technological advances, elven brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot set out on an adventure to resurrect their late father for a day.As someone who has a great relationship with my brother, I really felt this one. It exceeded my expectations and kept me thoroughly entertained throughout.
- DirectorMark AndrewsBrenda ChapmanSteve PurcellStarsKelly MacdonaldBilly ConnollyEmma ThompsonDetermined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.Pixar's take on the classic princess genre ended in a success for me. The development of the bond between Merida and her mother was executed quite well.
- DirectorJohn LasseterJoe RanftStarsOwen WilsonBonnie HuntPaul NewmanOn the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn't everything in life.I remember being really into this movie as a kid. While its plot and characters don't match up to those present in other Pixar films, it was still very enjoyable to watch.
- DirectorDan ScanlonStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanSteve BuscemiA look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sully" Sullivan during their days at Monsters University, when they weren't necessarily the best of friends.A nice prequel providing viewers with the backstory of Mike and Sulley. It's fun and lighthearted.
- DirectorJohn LasseterAndrew StantonStarsKevin SpaceyDavid FoleyJulia Louis-DreyfusA misfit ant, looking for "warriors" to save his colony from greedy grasshoppers, recruits a group of bugs that turn out to be an inept circus troupe.Pixar did a lot of good things with this movie. However, there was nothing in it that stood out to me as particularly great or memorable, which I believe is why it is often overshadowed by the studio's other films.
- DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway.Notorious for having one of the most emotionally touching introductions in animated movie history. Unfortunately, I felt that the rest of the film just didn't match up to its beginning. It's imaginative, but it gets a little too weird in my opinion.
- DirectorBrad BirdJan PinkavaStarsBrad GarrettLou RomanoPatton OswaltA rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant.Everything about the movie was perfectly satisfactory. The romance was fun, but I just couldn't really get into it. Guess I'm not much of a rat person/ food connoisseur!
- DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.A lighthearted sequel with some nice moments, but it unfortunately lacked the significance and depth of its predecessors in my opinion. The movie could've used more tension and better characterization of the normally spot on cast.
- DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.A nice sequel primarily focusing on Dory and her search for her parents, all while dealing with her disability.
- DirectorJohn LasseterBradford LewisStarsOwen WilsonLarry the Cable GuyMichael CaineStar race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.I remember being pretty entertained with this film when it was first released, even if there really isn't much depth to it.
- DirectorBrian FeeStarsOwen WilsonCristela AlonzoChris CooperLightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.Personally, I didn't like the direction taken with this movie. To be honest, I don't really think that this installment was necessary. It's still an ok film nonetheless.
- DirectorPeter SohnStarsJeffrey WrightFrances McDormandMaleah Nipay-PadillaIn a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. It was a cute movie with a nice dynamic between the dinosaur and his boy. It was just...oh so boring and lacking in so many ways.
