The World's 1000 Greatest Actress (In Progress)

by andreas-sellfors | created - 12 Apr 2018 | updated - 07 Mar 2023 | Public

Welcome all you great looking people out here in cyberspace to this list over The World's 1000 Greatest Actress. How as you see are only done at 70%, since I started in April of 2018. It is the case even as I have been here (at IMBD), a lot since we in Sweden had our outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in the spring of 2020. Because, during this time did I think a lot about how tough it is for these women to always be »on top« of their acting and »social radiance«. So, they can stay in the »lime-light« amongst the world's leading movie-stars. And be »on good terms« with the general public about what »they« symbolise. Which is not a easy task in our very performance driven society. Yes, you need to have a strong glow and not put yourself in dubious situations [such getting caught when you are driving on the influence of alcohol]. And of course, you must have starred in one famous movie. And around this topic [what is a good or a poor movie], so is it maybe as many opinions as the amount of people here on earth! This ranking consists therefore solely of my opinion - who I make from some rules.

1) I rank every actress to a specific movie that I love. And you see it in the notes that I have/are making 2) For every 50 actress - so are they either from Sweden or NCIS 3) My goal is that every actress have a profile picture here on IMDB But if they don´t have it, so is not a big deal. 4) I don´t care about "my" actress fame, even if it is hard to avoid. 5) I also don´t give a dam about getting many actress from a specific film genre, even if I myself are watching many more movies from independent companies that blockbuster.

Finally so have I to apology for my bad english, because at this moment have I not had some help from my aunt, so until then so is it maybe a lot of errors in my in my grammar.

1. Judi Dench

Actress | Skyfall

Dame Judi Dench was born Judith Olivia Dench in York, England, to Eleanora Olive (Jones), who was from Dublin, Ireland, and Reginald Arthur Dench, a doctor from Dorset, England. She attended Mount School in York, and studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has performed with the ...

2. Sophie Marceau

Actress | La boum

Sophie Marceau was born Sophie Danièle Sylvie Maupu in Paris, France, to Simone (Morisset), a shop assistant, and Benoît Maupu, a truck driver. She grew up far from the studio spotlights. When she was 14 she was living in the Paris suburb of Gentilly with her father. She learned from friends that ...

Many of the actresses who have been a Bondgirl. Such as Daniela Bianch and Carole Bouquet. They have often not appeared in any further good films after their romance with 007. Yes, they have often been forgotten. But Marceau is one of the exceptions. Yes, since her role in The World Is Not Enough (1999), so have she appeared in several big French productions. And to my cinematic eyes, so is she best in the thriller Anthony Zimmer (2005), in which she is a mysterious undercover agent.

3. Nicole Kidman

Actress | Moulin Rouge!

Elegant Nicole Kidman, known as one of Hollywood's top Australian imports, was actually born in Honolulu, Hawaii, while her Australian parents were there on educational visas.

Kidman is the daughter of Janelle Ann (Glenny), a nursing instructor, and Antony David Kidman, a biochemist and clinical ...

The first movie I saw with Kidman. Where she had the lead role. It was the heartbreaking musical Moulin Rouge! [2001]. And since then have I followed her career very closely. Because I really admire her courage, and the time she spends to both explore and develop her acting talent. Sometimes is her acting therefore better than several of the films in which she participates. For example, so is it almost only her performance in The Golden Compass [2003[, that makes the film worth seeing. And she is also a really good team player in Tolken [2005]. Yes, as Silvia Broom, so are Kidman a credible UN interpreter from the fictional African country of Matobo, when she plays against Sean Penn and Catherine Keener, who are Secret Service agents from The Dignitary Protection Division.

4. Anne Dorval

Actress | Mommy

Anne Dorval was born in Noranda, Quebec on November 8th, 1960. Since appearing in her first professional theatre role in 1985, she has acted in and won awards for numerous theatre productions, films, and television series. Anne is also a prominent dubbing actress in Quebec, having dubbed the voices...

During the summer of 2014, so had I a great privilege. Yes, as an intern at the Zita Cinema, so had I free access to the cine-ma's morning press screenings of the cine-ma's upcoming films. And it was during one of these occasions that I first came in contact with Dorval, who put me, to use a Swedish expression to the floor with her role as a generous NPF mother in Mommy (2014). Because, since I myself have an NPF diagnosis, so can I really say that Dorval is absolutely wonderful in her role.

5. Sean Young

Actress | Blade Runner

Mary Sean Young was born on November 20, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Lee Guthrie (née Mary Lee Kane), an Emmy-nominated producer, screenwriter, public relations executive, and journalist, and Donald Young, Jr., an Emmy award winning television news producer and journalist. ...

My first film memory with Young is from The Director's Cut of Blade Runner, which I saw at my aunt's house in Linköping. And I fell instantly in love with this version. Witch neither have a sleazy Hollywood ending, or a sleepy Voice-Vover by Harris-on Ford. Which he was forced to do after several threats from the film's financiers, who were two really egocentric old men. Which for a newcomer, as Young was in the movie business at the time, could have made her really cut. But she persevered and made a great performance.

6. Audrey Tautou

Actress | Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain

Audrey Justine Tautou was born on August 9, 1976 in Beaumont, France, to Evelyne Marie Laure (Nuret), a teacher, and Bernard Tautou, a dental surgeon. Audrey showed an interest for comedy at an early age and started her acting lessons at 'Cours Florent'. In 1998 she won the best young actress award...

Because I often re-watch many movies during a month (if nothing urgent occurs at my job), so have I a good view of all movies, witch a specific actress have been doing. But when I started to create this project over The World's 1000 Greatest Actresses, so did I get a big surprise. Because, I had completely forgot that Tautou had a leading role in the Da Vinci Code (2006). So, before this project, so did I therefore think that my first film with Tautou was the drama comedy Nathalie (2013), which I saw in an almost empty cinema at Victoriabiografen.

7. Cate Blanchett

Actress | Carol

Cate Blanchett was born on May 14, 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to June (Gamble), an Australian teacher and property developer, and Robert DeWitt Blanchett, Jr., an American advertising executive, originally from Texas. She has an older brother and a younger sister. When she was ten ...

You know that an actress is good. When you sit and wonder where she was in a movie, when both your candy, chips and chocolate are gone, and the subtitles roll in front of your eyes at your local cinema. So, yes, it happened to me when I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Dead Skull (2009), with my parents. And, well, I could blame the cinema, because many of Sweden's first cinemas were digitized after 2009 But it also took me about half of the Blu-ray version before I saw her. And, well, maybe would I have seen her earlier, if I had not just seen The Lord Of The Rings, because her role in this film is far from an Elf.

8. Noomi Rapace

Actress | Män som hatar kvinnor

Swedish actress Noomi Rapace was born in Hudiksvall, Gävleborgs län, Sweden to Swedish actress Nina Norén and Spanish Flamenco singer Rogelio de Badajoz (Rogelio Durán). Her parents did not stay together, and when she was five she moved to Iceland with her mother and stepfather, where she lived for...

Since the beginning of the 2010s, there has been a real upswing in the global film industry for Swedish actors. And best of all, it's kind of good for Noomi Rapce. Yes, besides being Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in Ridley Scott's Alien drama The Prometheus (2012), so is she really great as a grieving mother over her dead daughter in Angel Of Mine (2019). And she retains her dignity after the role of Bianca in Robert Budreau's fictional adaptation of the Norrmalmstorgsdramat. And even if the success in Sweden in the role of Lisbeth Salander opened the door to Hollywood, so is it not a place that Rapce really likes.

9. Uma Thurman

Actress | Kill Bill: Vol. 1

Uma Karuna Thurman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, into a highly unorthodox and internationally-minded family. She is the daughter of Nena Thurman (née Birgitte Caroline von Schlebrügge), a fashion model and socialite who now runs a mountain retreat, and of Robert Thurman (Robert Alexander ...

Thurman was one of the first women during the Metoo-spring to accuse film producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, which had accord in the begin-ing of her career. Which she should have revealed several years ago, according to herself. Because as she kept quiet, so is she subtly responsible for many actresses that he has abused. But now it is done. Which is just not something you do over a coffee rope. It also takes a lot of stake to star in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill movies, And the second part did I see with some of my high school classmates in 2004. And the movie was great until the last scene. Because then the bride is ....No, I will not reveal what she does to her husband.

10. Charlotte Fich

Actress | Kærlighed på film

Charlotte Fich ended her education at Theater school at Århus Theater in 1989, and thereafter worked at the theater until 1993, when she continued in Copenhagen. She's had several great roles in "Turandot" (1993) at Rialto Teatret, "Den flagrende gæst" (1994) at Bådteatret, "Mysterier" (1996) at ...

Fich was born on September 26, 1961 in Dragør. And already as a little playful girl did, she like to play theater, which she can thank her parents for, as they really allow-ed her to play. So, her childhood home was a fun-filled place. Yes, sometimes did she and her sister pretended to be a circus, and they sold tickets to everyone who passed by their house. However, the games were not close to the crimes she is investigating in the role as Police Commissioner Ingrid Dal in the Danish crime series Rejseholdet during the late 1990s. And the series plays in a significantly higher league compared to its Swedish counterparts. Like 2010's Van Veeteren and Wallander films.

11. Sidse Babett Knudsen

Actress | Borgen

Sidse Babett Knudsen is a Danish actress who works in theatre, television, and film. Knudsen made her screen debut in the 1997 improvisational comedy Let's Get Lost, for which she received both the Robert and Bodil awards for Best Actress.

Following the critical success of her debut, Knudsen has ...

The first time I saw Sidse Babett Knudsen in a film role was in the Danish drama series Borgen. Which is a political drama about a prime minister's rise to power. And how the power changes her during her reign as a highly democratic prime minister. But for viewers in the US is she foremost known for her role as Theresa Cullen in Westworld (2016-2018)

12. Sienna Miller

Actress | G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Sienna Rose Diana Miller was born in New York City, but was raised in London, United Kingdom. Her father, Edwin "Ed" Miller, who is American-born, is an investment banker and a dealer in Modern Chinese paintings. Her mother, Josephine "Jo" Miller, was a South African model and a personal assistant ...

Even though London is only an hour's flight from my home in Stockholm, so have I not been there until the summer of 2015 [when I was over 30-years old]. And I was there with my parents, and my sister. So together had we had a really nice vacation. And on the last day of my visit, so was I in a large DVD store, where I bought two films that would not be available in Sweden in several months. And one of the movies was High-Rise [2015], which I mainly chosen because Jermy Irons had one of the leading roles. Yes, the rest of the ensemble had I not seen before. So, after plowing through this dystopian movie several times, since it not had a Swedish subtitle, so did I get a whole bunch whit new and fresh actress. And most of all, so did I appreciate Miller's role as a really bitchy prima donna.

13. Millicent Simmonds

Actress | A Quiet Place

Millicent (Millie) Simmonds is a BAFTA nominated American actress from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania best known for Wonderstruck (2017), A Quiet Place (2018), A Quiet Place Part II (2020), and Helen & Teacher. Millicent made her Broadway debut in 2023 starring opposite Laurie Metcalf in Levi Holloway's ...

Before Simmonds was 12 months old, so did she lose her hearing, after a drug over-dose. And it caused some stress in her family. Because, her father wanted to obey the hospital's advice, which was that Simmons would be lazy and not want to drill her hearing if she learned to sign at an early age. Which is absurd. But after some battel, so did her mother got to teach her family [she has 4 siblings], in American sign language, so that they can communicate with her. And it has been very rewarding in her movie carrier. Because when John Krasinski started to direct A Quiet Place [2018], so was it a non-negotiable question to cast no other than a deaf actress (in the role as his deaf daughter. Because, he needed to be accompanied around what it is like to be the only person who is deaf in his family.

14. Ahney Her

Actress | Gran Torino

Ahney Her was born in Lansing, Michigan, USA. She is known for Gran Torino (2008), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Night Club (2011).

Gran Torino [2009], was Ahney's [a Hmong girl], first film. And it was no problem for the graceful cult actor and director Clint Eastwood. In fact, so was it not possible from his view to tell a story – where a racist war veteran engages in a Hmongboy life situation, if not the film's main characters [except himself], were people from this community. And from how good she is in the film, so are I really hoping to see her being cast in more films.

15. Kara Hayward

Actress | Moonrise Kingdom

Kara Hayward was born on November 17, 1998 in Massachusetts. She was discovered at an open call, landing her first movie role in Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom (2012), and received critical acclaim and numerous award nominations for her performance as Suzy Bishop. At this point, she was 12 years ...

When I sat down with my mother and father in one of the Sergel Cinema's large cinemas, to see Moonrise Kingdom (2010), during the film's premiere week in mid-May 2012, so had I not seen any of director Wes Anderson's previous comedies. So, I had no idea that his films always take place in a mini universe (like a doll's cupboard), where both the film's characters, environments and objects are presented in “their” different rooms, which can be seen as a mirror of our normal reality. And it is often very good not to have any expectations of what you are going to see. Because, you can not be disappointed, and feel that the film is not as great as you were thinking that it would be. Which I then have been about Andersson follow-ing movies. But when I saw Moonrise Kingdom, so was it a very rewarding movie. Yes, I had never guessed that the film was Hayward's first role in a professionnal film production.

16. Karidja Touré

Actress | Bande de filles

Karidja Touré was born on February 14, 1994 in Bondy, France. She is an actress, known for Girlhood (2014), Versus (2019) and In Your Hands (2018).

What the hell! Are you now maybe thinking. And, yes, you can think that there is no fucking way that this French youth are The World's 16th Greatest actress. And compared to icons like Judi Garland have you right. But she is this high, like everybody in this project from my own experience around this actress. And in this case, was I still an intern at the Zita cinema when I saw her in Girlhood, where Touré's character joins a group of girls, and re-finds herself for a while, before she discovers that she is not happy.

17. Diane Neal

Actress | Ann Rule's Circle of Deception

Diane Neal was born in Alexandria, Virginia. She moved to Littleton, Colorado, when her father was promoted to the position of federal attorney in Denver. She is the youngest of three daughters. Diane was a pre-med major in University, before leaving to pursue modeling, thus allowing her to travel ...

My first contact with this fantastic actress was from her role as Abigail Borin in the crime series NCIS, which completely "snorted" when it appeared on TV3 in 2003. Yes, as you will notice if you follow this ranking really closely. So, I have a whole bunch of actors in the series within this project. But unfortunately have the screenwriters of NCIS only used Neal in 6 episodes. So, it's lucky that she's been Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in over 100 stories.

18. Jessica Steen

Actress | Armageddon

A native of Toronto, Canada, Jessica Steen is probably best known in the U.S. for having been a regular on two short-lived TV series: the critically acclaimed Homefront (1991) and the science fiction show Earth 2 (1994). She also appeared opposite Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld (1989)) in ...

Spoiler alert; Here have we one more talented actress. That I first became aware of through NCIS, where she was in 7 episodes during the series' first four seasons. Before the screenwriters sacrifice her character, to save the series main squad from being killed by a suicide bomber in Se04:Ep19: Grace Period. But just because they brought in Cote De Pablo as Mosad agent Ziva Davis, so did they not have to get rid of Cassidy. But, well, you can not be angry forever. No that is spilled milk under the bridge. So instead I get to see her in Heartland (2007-2018). So then have I two fantastic series that I can follow with joy.

19. Milla Jovovich

Actress | Le Cinquième Élément

Milla Jovovich is a Ukrainian-American actress, supermodel, fashion designer, singer and public figure, who was on the cover of more than a hundred magazines, and starred in such films as The Fifth Element (1997), Ultraviolet (2006), and the Resident Evil (2002) franchise.

Milica Bogdanovna Jovovich...

If there is any film genre, where you not have to be a professional screenwriter, to record a film, so it is in the horror and zombie movie genre. For no person with a fresh mind would make several sequels of The Bridges Of Madison County (1995). But their is four Shark movies, and twelve sequels of Friday the 13th films. So there are no problems to make this movies, even if their are really horribel. And it can´t be so fun for the actors to only be known, as for example, as Sidney Prescott from the Scream franchise. But Jovovich have apparently no problem to reproducing her role as Alice in x Resident Evil-movies. Myself however are not a big fan of zombie-movies. But the first Resident Evil (2003) are really good. And she are both handsome and great in The Fifth Element (1997).

20. Renée Zellweger

Actress | Chicago

Renée Kathleen Zellweger was born on April 25, 1969, in Katy, Texas, Her mother, Kjellfrid Irene (Andreassen), is a Norwegian-born former nurse and midwife, of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish), and Swedish descent. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is a Swiss-born engineer. The two married in 1963. Renée ...

So, now is it time for me to make a maybe naive statement. Because, during the last five years (as from 2015), so have I notest that it really more fun to watch a lovely drama compared to an action-packed blockbuster. Yes, 10-years ago so did I fall a sleep when I tried to watch Notting Hill (1999). But now. when I see Zellenger’s great acting in the dramatization of the first big success novel about Bridget Jones from Helen Felding’s. Which is an intricate triangle drama whit, and around against Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), so am I having a really great fun.

21. Zoe Saldana

Actress | Guardians of the Galaxy

Zoe Saldana was born on June 19, 1978 in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldaña. Her father was Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. She was raised in Queens, New York. When she was 10 years old, she and her family moved to the Dominican Republic, where they would live for ...

Alright every lady, gentleman, and whatever you identify yourself as. Prepare your-self for some shocking news. Around why I have this lovely lady as No:19 on this list over The World´s in my eyes 1000 Greatest Actress. Because she is not this high from her acting in Avatar (2009). Yes, from my point of view are Avtar a really horrible movie. So, I have her on this position from her acting in Colombia (2011), where she act as Cataleya, who seeks revenge again-st everyone who killed her family when she was only 10-years old.

22. Keira Knightley

Actress | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Keira Christina Knightley was born March 26, 1985 in the South West Greater London suburb of Richmond. She is the daughter of actor Will Knightley and actress turned playwright Sharman Macdonald. An older brother, Caleb Knightley, was born in 1979. Her father is English, while her Scottish-born ...

Well, from a gender perspective, is it no new thing under the sun, when I sat and laughed to many scenes in Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). Because Knightley is the film's beautiful girl who is abducted by evil pirates and the only rescue is a captain (Jack Sparrow) without a ship who sees a chance to regain what he lost a long time ago. We therefore have gullible pirates with parrots on their shoulders, who ride in underground rivers, and arrive at damp treasury caves and secret port cities. So, when Knightley gets his international breakthrough in this film, so it's not a deep-blooded story. But is very funny.

23. Catherine Keener

Actress | Being John Malkovich

Catherine Keener is an American actress, Oscar-nominated for her roles in the independent films Being John Malkovich (1999) and Capote (2005). Acclaimed in her community for her quirky roles in independent film and mainstream such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Keener got her start as a casting ...

If you've seen Catherine Keener in many movies in the last 20 years, so is it not a big surprise. Because she really likes to star and have the supporting role in a movie. And she like it because the interesting characters are very few if you have to be the lead and be beautiful all the time. It also more fun, as there are is not a big pressure on your performance. But in The Interpreter have she anyway a quite big role as The Secret Service agent Dot Woods from The Dignitary Protection Division.

24. Sandra Oh

Actress | Killing Eve

Sandra Oh was born to Korean parents in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean, Ontario, Canada. Her father, Oh Junsu, a businessman, and her mother, Oh Young-Nam, a biochemist, were married in Seoul, Korea. They both attended graduate school at the University of Toronto. Sandra began her career as a ballet ...

If you happen to be casted a Drama TV Series, which becomes really appreciated for many years. Then can easily get stuck in your role. Yes, Johannes Brost will for example never be more than the bartender Joker in Rederiet. But Sandra Oh has managed it throughout her time as Cristina Yan in Grey's Anatomy. Yep, she had been doing many things between the series many seasons. And that's something I really like. Yes, I love actresses who like to do many different things. I clearly remember for example how she was in Sideways. So that makes her No. 28 on this list.

25. Sofia Helin

Actress | Bron/Broen

Sofia Helin was born on April 25, 1972 in Hovsta, Örebro län, Sweden. She is an actress and writer, known for The Bridge (2011), Arn: The Knight Templar (2007) and The Snowman (2017). She is married to Daniel Götschenhjelm. They have two children.

Halin got her big break in Sweden with Bron – a quite crazy crime-serie. Where she acts as Saga – who is a police officer with a slice of Asberger, and it creates a lot of problems. She stops for example in the opening act an ambulance, that someone has let through on Öresunds-bron without her permission. And it results in a tough exchange between her and Saga the Danish policeman Martin Rohde (Kim Bodnia), who in her world is out of his mind, because you do not violate the rules that you sign up to act from. Yes, for people with Asperger are rules very impotent to follow. And here do I speak from my own experience. And it makes Saga a great view into the world of ous whit this diagnose.

26. Gina Dirawi

Actress | Egghead Republic

Gina Dirawi was born on December 11, 1990 in Sundsvall, Sweden. She is an actress and producer, known for Egghead Republic, Young Royals (2021) and Ginas show (2015).

4Okay. As some of you probably already noticed by now. So, is this not a traditional ranking list, which is based on an actress either big commercial success, or their failed roles. And this applies above all around why I have Dirawi on this position as No:26 on this list over The World In my eyes 1000 greatest actress. Because I never laughed as much as I did, when I saw her, as the leading lady in Donna Juanita - A musical with 28 songs from Hasse and Tage's song treasure at Stockholms Stadsteater with my mother. So even if this was her first (and right now only) real play, because of many personal reasons. So is she No:26 on this list.

27. Anki Lidén

Actress | I taket lyser stjärnorna

Anki Lidén was born on April 5, 1947 in Mölltorp, Västra Götalands län, Sweden. She is an actress, known for Glowing Stars (2009), Irene Huss (2007) and Wallander (2005). She has been married to Klas Bergling since 1988. They have one child.

Spoiler Warning: The first time I saw Anki Lidén was in SVT's dramatization of The Fifth Woman (1996), which is a really tough story. And compared to several of the other novels by Henning Mankell, that have been made into films with Rolf Lassgård as Kurt Wallander, so is the main the-me of this novel really relevant from the metoo-movement (which took off in Sweden in 2018). Of course, there has not been any reports in the Swedish press where a man has been scalped on bam-boo poles, as one of Lidén's victims are in this TV series. Yes, it is not a beautiful treatment that Lindén's character gives her victims. But I can really understand her anger against a lot of men, who have not been in court for their abuse of their partner, despite the injuries documented at several hospitals. So, Linden's role in this TV series makes her No. 29 on this list.

28. Lena Olin

Actress | The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Swedish-born Lena Olin already had a successful career as an actress before she came to Hollywood. She acted at the Royal Theatre in Stockholm and was directed by Ingmar Bergman. She was born in Stockholm, to actors Britta Holmberg and Stig Olin, who appeared in six of Bergman's films. Lena also ...

Okay, all followers of this project. Here comes my first real political rant. Because, the feminist that I have deep within me, he can not help but ponder a rather sad conclusion. And it is that it is still very difficult in our modern society to have a brilliant acting career when you 1) Are a middle-aged woman. 2) Is married to a male director. Above all, it is clear from how the relationship between Colin Nutley and Helena Bergström are portray-ed in the daily Swedish press. Because many of their film projects (such as Heart-break Hotel), have been sawn along the ankles, to use a swedish expression. But Lennart Hällström and Lena Olin have not been feeling this sad treatment during their over 25-year marriage, who we get to know in Together with Strömstedts.

29. Frances McDormand

Actress | Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Frances Louise McDormand was born on June 23, 1957, in Gibson City, Illinois. She was adopted by Canadian-born parents Noreen Eloise (Nickleson), a nurse from Ontario, and Rev. Vernon Weir McDormand, a Disciples of Christ minister from Nova Scotia, who raised her in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. She ...

When it comes to movies that really made me laugh, cry, be really happy and overwhelmed at the same time, so is it Martin McDonagh's drama comedy Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). Because without revealing several parts of the plot, so is it both really sad and cheerful. And Frances McDormand plays such a great role, that she should probably be higher up on this list. But in the end so do you have to decide, because otherwise can you choose in indefinitely. So, I can only blame myself, because after I gave her this position, so did I realize that she is the egocentric mother in the wonderful Moonrise Kingdom (2012).

30. Kathryn Morris

Actress | Minority Report

Kathryn Morris was born on January 28, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. She is an actress, known for Minority Report (2002), Mindhunters (2004) and Cold Case (2003).

If there is one series that really should be for sale in a nice DVD box, it is definitely this really sophisticated crime series Cold Case (2003-2010). Where Kathryn Morris has the lead role as the hard-working police commissioner Lilly Rush. And because each episode contains a lot of music from that year, like the murder they're investigating. So unfortunately is it never going to be released on DVD.

31. Katrin Sass

Actress | Good Bye Lenin!

Katrin Sass was born on October 23, 1956 in Schwerin, German Democratic Republic. She is an actress, known for Good Bye Lenin! (2003), The Weissensee Saga (2010) and Bürgschaft für ein Jahr (1981). She was previously married to Siegfried Kühn.

The first time I saw Good Bye Lenin! (2003), which takes place after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and is a good attempt to turn back the time to the autumn of 1989, so was I an great student of the master's program in ethnology at Södertörn University. And in the movie is Sass a single mother and a tireless supporter of the communist regime, who has a heart attack when she learns that her son Alex (Daniel Brühl) is arrested when he is participating in an anti-communist demonstration.

32. Emily Mortimer

Actress | Mary Poppins Returns

British actress Emily Kathleen Anne Mortimer was born in Hammersmith, London, England, to writer and barrister Sir John Mortimer and his second wife, Penelope (née Gollop). She was educated at St Paul's Girls' School in West London, and it was whilst there she began acting. Mortimer moved on from ...

To shine in your roll after Jeff Daniel's big monologue in the beginning of the first episode of The Newsroom (2012-2014). When he excels with all his acting talent, and humiliates a female student, who asks him to describe how the United States is the best nation in the world. That is no dance over red roses, to use a Swedish expression. But as Executive Producer for The Atlantic Cable News, Mortimer gives him one really good match.

33. Connie Booth

Actress | Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Connie Booth was born on December 2, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. She has been married to John Lahr since August 19, 2000...

When it comes to iconic characters, so is it really right about the role that Booth formed together with the humor giant John Cleese, and which he acted as in Fawlty Towers. Because, Booth contribution to the success of Fawlty Towers is the same as the work that Cleese put in on this project. Yes, even if the original idea to make a series based on a hotel owner in Torquay, whit a generator (Donald Sinclair), who was the meanest man Cleese met in his whole life, so was it never a One-Man show. But unfortuna-tely, so could they not save they’re at this time rather crackilated marriages. But it became a refuge for their demons.

34. Demi Moore

Actress | G.I. Jane

Demi Moore was born 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico. Her father Charles Harmon left her mother Virginia Guynes (née King) before Demi was born. Her stepfather Danny Guynes didn't add much stability to her life either. He frequently changed jobs and made the family move a total of 40 times. The parents ...

If anyone had told me that I would see Moore in a role as a risk manager, at an investment bank, which existed at the beginning of the financial crisis. Then would I not take you for granted. No, I would have thought that you were making a bad joke. But that is, of course, what she is in Margin Call (2009), where she struggles with the consequences, that she knows are going to happen to the company, because her bosses are not willing to withdraw their risky business. So, she really is a lady with hard skin on her nose in this movie, and she must also be like this. As the men in the company has a really big ego.

35. Brooke Langton

Actress | The Replacements

A veteran of Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade, Brooke Langton has been working in the film industry for 30 years. A series regular on many television shows (Extreme, Melrose Place, The Net, Life, Glenn Gordon Caron's series Fling), a recurring character on the acclaimed Friday Night Lights,...

For some reason, so am I as scared today as I was when I saw The Net in the late 1990's, about the computer expert Angela Bennett (Brooke Langton). Who accident-ally gets a top secret email from a terrororganisation, with goal is to take control of people's lives through various manipulations using the Internet. And when they become aware of Angela's understanding what they're after, they steal her identity and place hers on the F.B.I.'s list of America's ten most wanted people.

36. Prunella Scales

Actress | Howards End

Prunella Scales was born on June 22, 1932 in Sutton Abinger, Surrey, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Howards End (1992), Fawlty Towers (1975) and Wolf (1994). She has been married to Timothy West since October 26, 1963. They have two children.

When you read this text, about the almost 90-year-old English actress Prunella Scales, so has she got dementia, which you unfortunately can get in old age. And because it is on her immediate memory, so is it really hard for her to playing theater. But on the other hand, so have she a great reason to tag down and enjoy the "few" years she has left to live. Yes, if it would have been me, so would I quit my career a long time ago. But that is apparently not an option for this actress. Who as the lead as Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, can say to her grandchildren (of she have one), that she are one of the stars, in without a doubt one of the world's best sitcoms of all time. Yes, because even though they are over 40 years since the series saw its light on BBC 1, so it is still really relevant.

37. Elisabeth Moss

Actress | The Invisible Man

Elisabeth Moss is an American actress. She is best known for the AMC series Mad Men (2007), Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale (2017) and the films The One I Love (2014) and The Invisible Man (2020).

Initially, Moss had aspirations of becoming a professional dancer. In her adolescence, she traveled to ...

Since the mid-2010s so has Moss become a more and more big actress from my cinematic eyes. Because, she is beautiful in her role as a depressed pregnant mother in Ben Wheatley's dystopian High-Rise (2015), and she is really brilliant as Secretary Peggy Olson in Mad Man (2007-2015). And the role of June Osborne in The Handmaid's Tale (2017-2021) suits her like a glove. Because even if her character is expos-ed to really hard things so does it not trouble her a lot. Instead has it both developed her personal emotional register and made her a stronger woman. And the series has also become bigger than the TV show itself, which Moss, of course, is really proud of.

38. Meryl Streep

Actress | Out of Africa

Considered by many critics to be the greatest living actress, Meryl Streep has been nominated for the Academy Award an astonishing 21 times, and has won it three times. Meryl was born Mary Louise Streep in 1949 in Summit, New Jersey, to Mary Wolf (Wilkinson), a commercial artist, and Harry William ...

When it was announced that the almost 65-year-old Clint Eastwood would both direct and star in the charming photographer Robert Kincaid in The Bridges of Madison County (1995), so where many people really surprised. Because, he was mainly known as Dirty Hardy. And even more astonishing was it that several big bosses at the film company Warner Bros. wanted a very younger actress in the role of the 45-year-old Italian housewife Francesca Johnson. Yes, both Jessica Lange, Isabella Rossellini & Kim Bassinger were chosen to play the role when the studio where doing the casting. But Eastwood did not want that. No, she argued for Streep, who had not had such a deep role since Lindy Chamberlain in A Cry in the Dark. And from my point of view, so it's her best movie role.

39. Emma Thompson

Actress | Sense and Sensibility

Emma Thompson was born on April 15, 1959 in Paddington, London, into a family of actors - father Eric Thompson and mother Phyllida Law, who has co-starred with Thompson in several films. Her sister, Sophie Thompson, is an actor as well. Her father was English-born and her mother is Scottish-born. ...

As almost every fucking major film company nowadays cannot or dare to make an intelligent film. Where no one is shot before the subtitles are gone in the beginning of the move. Or being chased in a violent car chase through an entire city, because you need to have it, to hide that the plot is as hollow as an Appenzeller. Then it's nice to see a film like The Judge (2017), where Thompson has to make a life-changing decision in her role as a Court of Appeal judge. Should she force a teenage boy to a blood transfusion to save his life? Well, after she visits him at the hospital where he is waiting to die. So, the visit has several unexpected consequences for both the boy in question and for herself.

40. Charlize Theron

Producer | Monster

Charlize Theron was born in Benoni, a city in the greater Johannesburg area, in South Africa, the only child of Gerda Theron (née Maritz) and Charles Theron. She was raised on a farm outside the city. Theron is of Afrikaner (Dutch, with some French Huguenot and German) descent, and Afrikaner ...

If any of you - who are currently skimming through all my previous motivations, or who slavishly follow this project - are of the opinion that there are quite a few political arguments around my ranking. Then you can already skip this motivation. Because it is inevitable that it is still difficult for women in our modern society to both produce and have the role of actress in an action film, but that it is only seen as an ordinary action film. Yes, even I myself was really surprised (which I am a bit ashamed of afterwards), when I saw that she was a co-producer of Atomic Blonde (2017), during the subtitles.

41. Julia Roberts

Actress | Pretty Woman

Julia Fiona Roberts never dreamed she would become the most popular actress in America. She was born in Smyrna, Georgia, to Betty Lou (Bredemus) and Walter Grady Roberts, one-time actors and playwrights, and is of English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, German, and Swedish descent. As a child, due to her ...

As a teenager, so was I thinking that Roberts' role in Pretty Woman was silly. And when I passed the 20-year stretch was not one of the world's greatest films. But now, when I will turn 35 (in 2023), sp have I got a very different view on this romantic-comedy, which was first called 3000, and which Roberts first refused, because a it was going to be a dark Art film. And that was not a thing that she wanted to do. But after a conversation with director Garry Marshall, she changed her mind after they agreed on some changes to the script. And it was both luck for her and Roxette.

42. Agata Trzebuchowska

Actress | Ida

Agata Trzebuchowska is a director and screenwriter. She graduated from University of Warsaw and Wajda Film School.

Agata played the title role in Pawel Pawlikowski's film Ida, which won Poland's first Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Her first short film called Heat (co-created with ...

While SF's cinema almost show films from the major studios, so is cinema Zita devoted in showing films from many independent studios. And in 2014, when I worked at the cinema, they showed many movies from both France and Canada. But that I would fall in love with a black-and-white Polish drama, about an orphaned novice who the days before she is to make her nun vow finds out that she has an aunt. It's not tipped.

43. Viola Davis

Actress | Fences

Viola Davis is a critically revered actress of film, television, and theater and has won rave reviews for her multitude of substantial and intriguingly diverse roles. Audiences across the United States and internationally have admired her for her work- including her celebrated, Oscar-nominated ...

Here on place No.38 have we the list's first black actress. And it's quite embarrassing for me, that it was pure luck that I got my eyes on this actress. Because when I was looking for interviews with Tom Hanks on Youtube, so did I stumbled upon a conversation he had with Viola. In the both tacky and intelligent interview-series Actors On Actors. Because, because since the actors are interview each other, so is it sometim-es a bit cheesy. But the conversation between Hanks & Viola is brilliant. Yes, Hanks immediately asks Viola the intelligent question; Is it perfect for making a movie like Fences, if you have done over 800 performances of the play before you start filming.

44. Toulou Kiki

Actress | Timbuktu

Toulou Kiki is known for Timbuktu (2014), Sages-femmes (2023) and Hier (2018).

During the premiere week of the French-Mauritanian drama Timbuktu (2014), I witnessed a surreal event. Because when I looked up from the ticket computer when I worked at the box office at cinema Zita, so stood the rap artist Timbuktu in front of me and wondered if there were any tickets left for tonight's show whit Timbuktu (2014). But unfortunately, all tickets were booked both with us, and among the rest of all Stockholm's cinemas. And looking at the plot of the film, where Kiki plays the role of the heroic wife Satima, it's not strange. And I have the film on Blu-ray, in my film collection, which I have started to get (create), in recent years.

Here have we Denmark's greatest female actress. Because since her first role in Ung Lek (1956), so has she participated in every great movie or serie, that has become both a really big domestic and internationally success. Yes, she stars in both the comedy Olsen-Banden På Spanden (1969), the drama series Matador (1978-1982), Ingmar Bergman's drama documentary The Good Will (1991), as the hospital Serie Riket (1994-1997), and the crime serie Rejseholdet (2002-2004).

Lois Chiles is a former supermodel-turned-actress who gave elegant performances in a variety of films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Her motion picture debut role was as Robert Redford's sexual endeavor in the old-fashioned Hollywood melodrama, The Way We Were (1973). Shortly after, she starred ...

That most of the James Bond movies, who were made during both the 60s and 70s have not eaged very well. That agrees probably more than just me around. But some of them is okay. And above all is Moonraker (1979), from my point of view a good movie. So even though Chile has not made much of an impact after her role as Holly Goodhead, so is she this high on this list over The Worlds 1000 Greatest Actress from this film alone. Which you can criticize me for if you want. But I think it's a lot more fun to rank these actresses based on the heart instead of based on their commercial success.

52. Lina Leandersson

Actress | Låt den rätte komma in

Lina Leandersson was born in Falun, Sweden She took an interest in performing from an early age, acting in amateur theatre performances, attending drama courses, and performing street- and jazz dance. One of her first roles was in amateur theatre performance, playing the mother of a spoiled girl ...

When the team behind the film adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist praised vampire novel Låt Den Rätte Komma In (2008), picked out the children who would play the lead roles. So, did they use the acting Paige StagePool, and one who grabbed the ad was Lina, who sent in a film clip to the film's casting agent. And after two auditions so did, she get the role of Eli. But since then have it unfortunately not been as many roles after her role in Ömheten (2013).

She is the daughter of British actor Will Keen, and Spanish actress, theatre director and writer María Fernández Ache.

Keen...

From that we here at place No. 40 have this young actress. So, do I want to say a lot about all the Swedish reviewers, who present His Dark Materials in the Swedish newspapers. Where Keen has the lead role, Because as I'm is a real fan of the books by Philip Pullan, which the series revolves around. So, I am really really annoyed, over that not a single reviewer (well, except Moviezine) has managed to get into the main message of the series, which is a real dark story. With both child protagonist, theology, and atheism in a youth science fiction. So, for those who take the time to get acquainted in the series' real message, it's not a small story. And the BBC is so close to the book that I started crying like a small child when I sat and watched the first episode of the series for myself up among the treetops in Hässelby.

54. Suzanne Clément

Actress | Mommy

Suzanne Clément was born on May 12, 1969 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She is an actress and director, known for Mommy (2014), Laurence Anyways (2012) and I Killed My Mother (2009).

That the young Canadian director Xavier Dolan has used Suzanne Clément in almost all of his films since his debut in the late 2010s. That not a big surprise for me from her 1) role as Julie Cloutier in I Killed My Mother (2009). 2) her acting as the girlfriend Fred Bellair in Laurence Anyways (2012), who has a great deal of aggression. And 3) as the low-key neighbor Kyla to the character Diane 'Die' Després in Mommy (2014), who has a son with a very serious ADHD diagnosis.

55. Daryl Hannah

Actress | Wall Street

Daryl Christine Hannah was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of Susan Jeanne (Metzger), a schoolteacher and later a producer, and Donald Christian Hannah, who owned a tugboat/barge company. Her stepfather was music journalist/promoter Jerrold Wexler. Her siblings are Page ...

Alright ladies and gentlemen!. The argument below about why Daryl Hannah is No. 45 on this list of the world's 1000 greatest actresses is perhaps quite provocative. But in my world, so are you almost automatically among the world's fifty greatest actresses when you had a major role in the world's greatest film Well, I'm talking here (of course) about Bladrunner (1982). And I've also taken into account that she's a really great villain like Elle Driver in the Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill movies.

56. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio

Actress | The Abyss

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was born in Lombard, Illinois, to Mary D. (Pagone) and Frank A. Mastrantonio, who ran a bronze foundry. Her parents were of Italian descent. She was raised in Oak Park, IL, and began her career in school plays as a teenager. Mary attended the University of Illinois and ...

In the mid-1990s, when I was around 10 years old. So, did I often check through old VHS tapes. And one time, so did I found a recording of The Abyss (1989), which I first fought was quite interesting. But it's not a movie for a young child. No, I probably watched about half an hour of the movie before I got really scared. It was also the actors during the filming, for the film was recorded in a real underwater tank.

57. Yvonne Lombard

Actress | Äppelkriget

51For the Swedish TV-audience, is Reuter best known for her offensive characters in the cult-declared Sit-comedy Lorry (1988-1995). And as Lena in Svensson, Svensson (1994-2008), is she even more praised. And why Not. I mean how can not love a really carring mother to two great children. One is Lina, a horse loving teenager and the other is Max, cynical and sarcastic young boy. Today are Svensson, svensson so loved that it gets really bad in many Swedish homes if someone is not quiet when SVT (Sveriges Televison) annually repeats the series' Christmas episode. This makes Reuter a utterly shining actress. and No:51 on this list.

64. Carmen Silvera

Actress | 'Allo 'Allo!

Carmen Silvera was a British comic actress of Spanish descent, primarily known for television roles. Her most memorable role was playing Edith Artois in the hit sitcom "'Allo 'Allo!" (1982-1992), which depicted multiple ongoing conspiracies in German-occupied France during World War II.

Edith was ...

In the early 1980s, the Swedish TV audience got really excited about Silvera's role as the antagonistic wife Edith to opportunistic café owner Rene Artois and Allo Allo! (1982 to 1992), which I have the first two seasons of on DVD. And the only thing you can remark on. It's that the sound quality is not the very best. For several times, the actors' voices are supplanted by the audience's bursts of laughter.

65. Liv Tyler

Actress | Armageddon

Liv Tyler is an actress of international renown and has been a familiar face on our screens for over two decades and counting. She began modelling at the age of fourteen before pursuing a career in acting. After making her film debut in Bruce Beresford's Silent Fall, she was cast by fledgling ...

Okay, around this actress, so is it just as good to admit right away, that I have a lot of mixed emotions. Because, as I am a great Lord of The Ring fan, so have I many objections around her role. And that is;1) Arwen is made into a sexy Xena warrior when she helps Strider (Mortensen), and his “hobbits-friends” to escape from several large Nazguls, and that is really wrong, because in the book is it done by Glorfindel. 2) She does not create a herd of white horses, which attack and pull down several Nazguls in a river. NO, that does Elrond. But in order for Arwen to not only be a Bi character in the movie, so did the director Peter Jackson a lot of liberties with her character. But I had rather seen her in several scenes at her home in Rivendell. Because if it's any part of the book, that it's really trimmed down, so it is from this part of the book.

66. Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Actress | Seinfeld

Julia Louis-Dreyfus was born on January 13, 1961, in the New York City borough of Manhattan, to Judith (LeFever), a special needs tutor and author, and Gérard Louis-Dreyfus, a billionaire businessman. Her parents divorced when she was young, and she spent her childhood in Washington, D.C., and New ...

Now ladies and gentlemen! So have I a big question. That I want you to answer really truthful. And that is; Do you know that Dreyfus did not have the role of Elaine Benes in the pilot of The Seinfeld Chronicles (1989-1998). Well, if you knew, you'll get a gold star. For this had I no idea about when I started this project. But you. who then have control over the design of this sitcom. You know that she came on this show, from a recommendation from NBC. Because, many of NBC:s executives felt that the serie needed a female lead, because otherwise would it not have any chance to survice. And both Jerry Seinfield and Larry David thought it was perfectly OK.

67. Nicola Walker

Actress | Spooks

Nicola Jane Walker is an English actress, known for her starring roles in various British television programs from the 1990s onward, including that of Ruth Evershed in the spy drama Spooks from 2003 to 2011 and DCI Cassie Stuart in Unforgotten from 2015 to 2021. She has also worked in theatre, ...

Over the years so has it been lots of good series from BBC. And some have remained in one's memory to a greater extent than others - such as The Fawlty Towers (1975-1979). And for a while was Spooks (2002–2011), where Walker makes the role of Ruth Evershed a favorite. But as it began to look more and more like the American Agent series 24 (2001-2010), so did I lose my interest for the serie. But I continued to follow Walker's career. I therefore know that she has a good role as Jackie 'Stevie' Stevenson against Stellan Skarsgård in River (2015).

68. Gunnel Lindblom

Actress | Jungfrukällan

After acting studies at the Gothenburg City Theatre from 1950-52, she made her breakthrough debut in Gustaf Molander's Kärlek (1952). When Ingmar Bergman became head of the Malmö City Theatre he asked her to join him there and with him as a director she played the role of Margareta in Goethe's...

Here have we the first actress in this project of the world's 1000 leading actresses, with whom I don`t have have a personal relationship. And by that I mean, of course, that I have not seen Lindblom in a play at Stockholm City Theater. Or in the films that she both financed herself and directed in the late 1970s. Because during this age in the Swedish film industry, so was it not on the world map that a woman could make sophisticated direction. Which we thankfully have go away from here in the 2010s. But it of course, everything is still not gold and green forests to use a swedish expression. As Lindblom can agree with.

69. Stina Ekblad

Actress | Fanny och Alexander

Stina Ekblad was born on February 26, 1954 in Solf, Finland. She is an actress, known for Fanny and Alexander (1982), The Serpent's Way (1986) and Amorosa (1986).

That time passes quickly when you get older. It really suits how I look at Ekblad. Because I was quite shocked. When I realized the other day that it is already six years since I saw Ekblad as Kristina, in Dramaten's rather modern production of The Emigrants (2014). But after we got to follow both Kristina (Ekblad), and Karl-Oskars (Lassgård), preparations for the move to America in the first act. So was the second only a long wait for Gordot. Sorry, I mean, it was just a long voyage across the Pacific towards America. Yes, the play was over when they just got to Minnesota's beach.

70. Rebecka Hemse

Actress | Beck

Rebecka Hemse was born on August 4, 1975 in Södertälje, Stockholms län, Sweden. She is an actress, known for Beck (1997), The Searchers (1993) and Höst (1998).

Rebecka Hemse had her big breakthrough in Lulu (1994). at Malmö Dramatic Theater. Where she stood on stage for over 4 hours before she was being murdered by Jack The Ripper. Sure, call me an idiot if you will, when I hereby reveal the end of the play. But it's no secret to stubborn theater foxes. On the other hand, she is Sweden's most underrated actress. Because, if you ask one randwom person on Drottninggatan if they recognize her, then is she just Police Commissioner Martin Beck's daughter. However, so does she really like to not be a star. Becouse in the actor no celebrity. No, it is only a person who lends her body, so that we (the audience) can ponder both simple and difficult questions. So thus it is a dangerous profession. Because before their graduation (premiere), they do not know if they have created something good or bad. And I myself had the privilege of seeing her in Electra (2020), before the pandemic put an end to all theater.

71. Marie Göranzon

Actress | Dag och natt

Marie Göranzon was born on October 27, 1942 in Linköping, Östergötlands län, Sweden. She is an actress, known for Day and Night (2004), Beck (1997) and Everyone Loves Alice (2002). She is married to Jan Malmsjö. She was previously married to Lars Amble.

Here have we probably one of Sweden's greatest actresses. Who have become increasingly demanding around her male co-actors in recent years. And that is ok when you are over 75 years old. Because as it became clear with the Metoo spring, so have it bee been many rotten eggs within Dramaten. Which should have been kicked out many years ago. So as good as she is in plays such as Måsen (2007), Ett Dockhem 2 (2018), as good is she to expresses herself around this men. Which Eirik Stubø, according to her, had to take over. But apparently is she still disappointed with how the storm was handled. Becouse, nowadays is on Stockholm City Theater

72. Birgitte Hjort Sørensen

Actress | Kraftidioten

Birgitte Hjort Sorensen is a Danish actress. She has been nominated for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award. Born in Hillerød and raised in Birkerød, Sørensen aspired to an acting career after watching the West End production of the musical Chicago while at school. She graduated from the Danish...

In the thriller serie Geåzone (2018), so is Sørensen's character - Victoria Rahbek taken hostage by a terrorist group. And because of that, so is she forced to stealing from her job and lying to people that she loves, and she does it very well. And this situation is a big threat to her, and to her son. And it is so big, that she has to reconsider her vision of the world. Which I myself had to do about her talent. For this role is really different to the tough journalist who she does in Borgen (2010–2022).

73. Benedikte Hansen

Actress | Borgen

Benedikte Hansen was born on September 24, 1958 in Denmark. She is an actress, known for Borgen (2010), De vilde svaner (2009) and Gøngehøvdingen (1992).

In 2022 is the fourth season of the political TV series borgen (2010-2022), going to air on Neflix. And hopefully we will then see Hansen again in the role of the hot-tempered journalist Hanne Holm. Who is a pretty burdus mentor to her younger female journalist colleagues. Because, with her over 30 years in the industry, so is she not afraid of old men's slime, and she sees ruler techniques straight through. Personally would not want her against me. But I really like seeing her in this role.

74. Trine Pallesen

Actress | Nøgle hus spejl

Trine Pallesen was born on June 19, 1969 in Denmark. She is an actress, known for Nøgle hus spejl (2015), Unit One (2000) and Forbrydelsen (2007).

Trine Pallesen had her big TV breakthrough with the role of Gaby in the both acclaimed and partially criticized police series of Rejseholdet (2000-2004). Which from my eyes is the world's best police series. And since then, so has she participated in several other much appreciated police series such as Brottet (2007–2012), Grethe (2016-2017), DNA (2019), which she has managed and cared for really well while being a single mother of two teenagers. Which she wants to give really good advice to before they move away from home.

75. Charlotte Munck

Actress | Headhunter

Charlotte Munck was born on December 2, 1969 in Århus, Denmark. She is an actress and writer, known for Meeres Stille (2013), Headhunter (2009) and A War (2015).

Charlotte Munck has an impressive career in the film, TV and theatre world. With her strong and intelligent acting, her talent runs the ...

If Rejseholdet (2001-2003) is the world's all-time best police series. Where you have a good representation of how the daily police work is when you investigate murders. Then the series differs from the action that exists in Anna Pihl (2006-2008), who shares second place over the world's leading police series in strong compet-ition whit. NCIS (2003-), Rizzoli & Isles (2010-2016).

Rene Russo was born in Burbank, California, to Shirley (Balocca), a barmaid and factory laborer, and Nino Russo. Her father, a sculptor and mechanic, left the family when Rene was just two, and thus her mother raised Rene and her sister, Toni, as a single mom. Her father was of Italian descent, and ...

Rene Russo is No. 69 on this list of the world's, in my opinion, 1000 best female actresses based on her fine roles in mainly 2 critically acclaimed films from the mid-1990s. The first movie is Ron Howard's criminal thriller Ranson (1996), where she plays wife to the multi-millionaire Tom Mullen, whose relationship, are seen on her head when their son is kidnapped.

Miranda won the role as Éowyn in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy after Alison Doody had declined the role because she was going to have a baby. And I can really understand Doody's decision. To do the role (as Otto did instead), had forced her to spend six months in Australia , where she had to learn both riding and sword fighting. Otto then makes the role so good that she is No.71 on this list.

During what I believe was the spring of 2014, I practiced at the Church of Sweden in Tureberg, as part of my education as a humanities treatment educator at Väddö Folk High School. And since they have a nice library, Whereupon I borrowed a number of films, where one of them was the French film The Snow on Kilimanjaro (2011). Where a union pensioner and his wife are robbed, believing that it is not enough for their conscience to bring the attackers to justice. And the role of wife, it is then played by Ariane Ascaride while the role of the pensioner is played by Jean-Pierre Darroussin, who is also her opponent in The House by the Sea (2017).

79. Michelle Williams

A small-town girl born and raised in rural Kalispell, Montana, Michelle Ingrid Williams is the daughter of Carla Ingrid (Swenson), a homemaker, and Larry Richard Williams, a commodity trader and author. Her ancestry is Norwegian, as well as German, British Isles, and other Scandinavian. She was ...

If there is any actress who during her long career only have made films with small-scale independent film companies. Since she broke through in the role of Jen in the youth series Dawsons Creek (1998–2003), it is Michelle Williams. Because like many interesting actors, she is more interested in making multi-faceted characters than blockbusters. She has therefore played emotionally troubled women struggling with heavy losses or loneliness in Wendy and Lucy (2008), Blue Valentine (2010), and Manchester By The Sea (2016). But sure, the role of Dolores Chanali Martin Scorsese's psychological thriller Shutter Island (2010), was a great movie.

In 2010, action star Bruce Willis made his latest film, which has a enough high entertainment value, to qualify for a place around 250 over the world in my eyes 100 top movies. And there in Red (2010), the film's Distressed Woman is made by Parker. Like Willis fakes a date and kidnaps. So that she in turn is not kidnap-ed by a high-tech murderous, because Willis' character has revealed some very intimate details from several of his previous assignments as black-Ops Agent Frank Moses. Unfortunately, the film team were not good professionals, because there are a lot of really big flaps in the film. But where they are somewhere in the film, I do not intend to reveal them in this text.

81. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Actress | Chicago

Catherine Zeta-Jones was born September 25, 1969 in Swansea, Wales (and raised in the nearby town of Mumbles), the only daughter of Patricia (nee Fair) and David James "Dai" Jones, who formerly owned a sweet factory. After a notorious art theft, master thief Robert MacDougal (Sean Connery) is suspected. And to catch him, the police use some unconventional methods, which you are not allowed to do in Sweden. For example, MacDougal's inner circle infiltrates insurance assistant Virginia Baker (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Or, we have the revealed under-cover agent Peter Rätz who reveals lots of crimes within Bandidos andHells Angels. And in the film, Baker manages to get a good grip on MacDougal. However, she has a little more than just professional feelings.

To have a little sister. Who is as interested in film as yourself. It's absolutely wonderful. Because without her, I would never have seen Harmon in the role of Police Commissioner Jane Clementine Rizzoli at the Boston Police Homicide Unit in the TV series Rizzoli & Isles (2010–2016). Yes, right after ten minutes of the first episode. Where a serial killer seems to have gotten a Copy-Cat. So, did I get the same feeling. As when I stumbled upon NCIS on TV-3 in the early 2000s. Which in itself is not so strange, since one of Harmon's teammates is Sasha Alexander from NCIS. And hope-fully the sister is also right that the series does not stagnate. For myself, I have only seen three of the series' seven seasons

83. Anaïs Demoustier

Actress | L'enfance du mal

Anaïs Demoustier was born on September 29, 1987 in Lille, Nord, France. She is an actress, known for Sweet Evil (2010), The Snows of Kilimanjaro (2011) and Alice and the Mayor (2019).

As you may have noticed, I have a great love for French movies. Because compared to many American films, the French men almost always have a very high quality when it comes to both script, image format and acting. But A New Girlfriend (2015), where director François Ozons challenges gender norms in a welcome way to begin with, the film towards the end unfortunately becomes a real soup, with far too many clichés, where Demoustier has one of the main roles. So, then it is lucky that she is brilliant in The Snow At Kilimanjaro (2011).

Since Bond first appeared on the white screen in Dr. No (1962). So, the films have had quite varying quality. Nor have they aged any further well. In any case, several of the stunts are very transparent from my cinematic eyes. Over the years, the role of Bond has also been played by more actors. And when they restarted the series with Pierce Brosnan as 007. Then the role of Bond-Girl went to Scorupco, who makes a really great introduction as the Russian programmer Natalya Fyodorovna Simonova in Goldeneye (1995). Because here in the mid-1990s, she was not just an eye piece or a sex object.

86. Abby Brammell

If there is one movie, that I have been really embarrassed by in recent year. So is it really the Norwegian director Eskil Vogt's love drama about Ingrid (Ellen Dorrit Petersen), who barricaded herself in her safe home after she lost her sight. Because, here in Blind (2014), so have we a sexual triangle drama that Ingrid evokes from her writing. Or so it seems, because since we also follow her husband, we never know what is true and what is fantasy.

Compared to the Indiana Jones films made in the 1980s, so where the script for the fourth film; Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), which came in the late 2000s, maybe not as rich, and deep-rooted as the previous ones. But personally, so do I think that it is the best one, because the idea whit Indiana from my point of view is not that it should be philosophical, no, it's a fantasy world. In addition, you can not rely on an old recipe. That Allen in the role of Marion Ravenwood therefore has a significantly larger role in the fourth Indiana Jones film compared to her participation in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), is then fully correct

96. Saoirse Ronan

After The Lord Of The Ring movies so have Peter Jackson had both high peaks and deep valleys. For Mortal Engines (2018), was a pretty poorly produced film. But on the other hand, are The Lovely Bones (2009), a nice and sad story about 14-year-old Susie Salmon who experiences her first love when she is raped and murdered by a neighbor. And the main role as Susie is played by Ronan, who has made several films after this one where she has had strong female roles. Like Florence Ponting in the great love drama On Chesil Beach (2017).

97. Jorja Fox

Jorja Fox has become a familiar face by playing major roles in three of the most successful television dramas in history: ER (1994), The West Wing (1999) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000).

While many male actors have behaved like pigs through-out their careers, to get what they want when they are acting (like Örjan Ramberg). Or think it's fun to shock their colleagues by fighting down a sound engineer in Stjärnorna På Slottet (2020) - which Ola Rapace apparently thought was fun, so are Fox engages in utterly different things when she's not filming. For she has a) been with PETA to promote vegetarian-sm, which is good for the climate if it does it right. And she has b) works with ADI to shed light on the suffering that animals often do in circuses.
