Editors' Picks: Our Favorite Things From the Week of Sept. 2411 of 11
Tribute of the Week
We bid a sad farewell to Hugh Hefner, who died at 91. Hefner began publishing international adult magazine Playboy in his kitchen in 1953, and it went on to become the largest-selling men's publication in the world. As well as being an advocate for free speech and civil rights, the publisher made regular cameos in movies and TV series, from Beverly Hills Cop II and "The Simpsons" to reality show "The Girls Next Door." Hefner was once quoted as saying: "I dreamed impossible dreams, and the dreams turned out beyond anything I could possibly imagine."
