Editors' Picks: Our Favorite Things From the Week of Sept. 243 of 11
Movie Casting News of the Week
Sony announced this week that Michelle Williams is in talks to star as the female lead in Ruben Fleischer's Venom, opposite Tom Hardy. In the film, Hardy will play Eddie Brock, a man who becomes linked with an alien Symbiote that turns him into Venom, one of the ultimate villains in the Spider-Man universe. While the plot of the film has not been revealed, we do know that the film will be a separate universe from Spider-Man: Homecoming and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are used to seeing Williams in more indie and dramatic roles. So, her possible inclusion in this project, along with Hardy and Riz Ahmed, gives us high hopes that this won't be your average superhero film.
