Musical Adaptation of the Week
Nearly 30 years to the day since the release of Beetlejuice, it has been announced that an adaptation of Tim Burton's cult comedy is headed to the stage. The loud-mouthed, undead character, memorably played by Michael Keaton, will be revived from October at Washington D.C.'s National Theatre before potentially heading to Broadway. Casting has yet to be revealed, but it will be directed by Alex Timbers, co-creator of "Mozart in the Jungle." As Beetlejuice himself would say: "It's showtime!"
