2014: My favorite Russian movies
2014 is an incredibly successful year for Russian cinema. "Leviathan" by Andrey Zvyagintsev received the "Golden Globe" as the best foreign film, "The Postman's White Nights " by Andrey Konchalovskiy received the "Silver Lion" of the Venice Festival. These films are wonderful, but my Top 5 of 45 Russian movies in 2014 is: the revolutionary drama "Angels of Revolution" by Aleksey Fedorchenko, the social truth drama "The Fool" by Yuriy Bykov, the main hit of the Kinotavr festival of the melodrama "Star" by Anna Melikyan, the film-journey through the life of the main the hero "Cinema about Alekseev" by Mikhail Segal and the harsh drama "I'm Not Coming Back" by Estonian director Ilmar Raag. The best documentary - "The Postman's White Nights". The dest Action - American-Russian film by Levan Gabriadze "Unfriended". The most popular Russian film of 2014 - adventure film "Forbidden Empire" (Gross: $35,59M)!
