The idea is to put the original up for auction and then swap it for a forgery once the sale is complete. The real question however is how will the con artists get away with their scheme and get rid of the pesky police officer at the same time?

Fate intervenes in the form of a car accident resulting in Samar losing his short-term memory. The con artists decide to just run the con over again - a little less perfect this time - but Samar has undergone a serious personality change and is no longer the smug SOB they set out to get.

The entrepreneurs sell the product to a museum for use on a very valuable painting. Having hooked their marks, they now have to figure out a way to steal the painting.

The gang seize upon Luke Baincross, choleric playboy, tax dodger and womanizer, who has inherited a country house and a vast collection of Indian art, the centre-piece being a jewel-encrusted tiger which he would like to sell but cannot due to a clause in a family trust. For a fee the hustlers agree to steal the tiger whilst it is on loan to a museum so that Luke can collect the insurance, but maximum security abounds at both Luke's house and the museum, forcing a complicated plan to swap the real tiger for a dummy one.
