Films/Projects I've Worked On
This is just a list of projects (mostly films) that I've worked on since Fall 2009, where I usually appeared as an extra, stand-in, body double, or driver. I've also done some student films, web series, and commercials that probably aren't listed, but I'll try to keep it as complete as possible. A lot of these movies are pretty terrible, I know, but hey, it was a paycheck!

- DirectorEdward ZwickStarsJake GyllenhaalAnne HathawayJudy GreerIn 1990s Pittsburgh, a medicine peddler starts a relationship with a young woman suffering from Parkinson's disease. The first film I ever got to work on! I'm seen briefly as a Pfizer trainee in the training montage towards the beginning. I was near Jake in a lot of shots, and I learned a lot of things that I'd never even thought about before stepping foot on film set, like how having blond hair and blue eyes is pretty useful when you're just a face in the crowd, because when they're trying to bring attention to the star, they want to surround him with people that look nothing like him. I remember when I went to that extras casting call how the person running it said that they wanted to get people from Pittsburgh, just not people that LOOKED LIKE they were from Pittsburgh.
- DirectorPaul HaggisStarsRussell CroweElizabeth BanksLiam NeesonA married couple's life is turned upside down when the wife is accused of a murder. The second film I got to work in, which was between days of shooting on "Love and Other Drugs". I'm a doctor on the terrace of a building that Russell Crowe passes when he's making a run for the subway, and then I'm also hanging out in street clothes near the train that he gets on. I don't think I actually made it onscreen though.
- DirectorTony ScottStarsDenzel WashingtonChris PineRosario DawsonWith an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe.I was mostly used as a stand-in for one of the actors in the railroad headquarters scene where the railroad execs are going through the whole "Who cares about the loss of human life, we're going to lose MILLIONS!" routine. I'm also walking down the sidewalk during the opening shot of the film. Again, I'm not seen, but my old car makes an appearance.
- DirectorD.J. CarusoStarsAlex PettyferTimothy OlyphantDianna AgronAliens and their Guardians are hiding on Earth from intergalactic bounty hunters. They can only be killed in numerical order, and Number Four is next on the list. This is his story.I'm in a carnival scene, and I don't know if I make it onscreen or not, because I didn't bother to see the film, as it looks pretty bad. I do know that with the way things were shot, I'm literally in multiple places at once. I actually work at a movie theater, so with films like these, sometimes I'm lucky enough to get a look at scenes I worked on without actually having to sit through the entire film. I just didn't happen to catch this scene during the short time that the movie was out.
- DirectorJulie Anne RobinsonStarsKatherine HeiglJason O'MaraDaniel SunjataUnemployed and newly-divorced Stephanie Plum lands a job at her cousin's bail-bond business, where her first assignment puts her on the trail of a wanted local cop from her romantic past.I worked on several different scenes, and I'm not sure I was seen in any of them. This is another one that I skipped, but I DID see all the stuff I was around for. I'm a couple cars back from Katherine Heigl when she was at the intersection with the naked guy in her car, I'm an emergency room orderly, and she walks back in forth in front of my parked car (that I'm not in) when she's spying on a guy in the parking garage of his apartment building. I'm also a driver in a bridge sequence that I think was cut from the film.
- DirectorJohn SingletonStarsTaylor LautnerLily CollinsAlfred MolinaA young man sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.I actually DID see this one, and wow, what a mess it was! Again, I'm all over the place, but I don't think I'm seen anywhere. I was around for a lot of the hospital sequence but was never at any point in front of the camera, I was an FBI agent investigating the guy getting thrown off the train, I'm running for my life when the bad guy starts shooting outside of the baseball stadium, and I'm also Jason Isaacs's body double in scenes leading up to his death that weren't used (that actually did make it into the trailers and TV spots). I also double as the arm and shoulder of the guy that puts the bomb in the oven in ANOTHER shot that wasn't used. The way it plays out in the film, the bomb is already there, despite the fact that no one ever goes near the kitchen. It's funny to actually be around for shots that are used to fix continuity errors, to know they exist, and then see them NOT get included.
- DirectorGavin RappStarsTyler CourtadCameron McKendryJohn SabolThe son of the beloved female vocalist in the popular doo-wop group, The Skyliners, confronts his estranged father for the truth about her suicide.I don't know when or if this is ever seeing the light of day, or if it's going to end up on TV or what. I'm just hanging out in a nightclub when the group is performing a few of their song.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane.I got to be a Gotham City police officer, with a GCPD cop car and everything, which would have been the coolest thing ever to my 1993 self that was just getting into comics at the time. I doubt I'm seen, as EVERYONE was a cop that day, but I'm walking past Matthew Modine into a train tunnel (the very same one where Russell Crowe was boarding his train in "Next Three Days") right before the entrance is blown up, and then I'm also one of the cops in the tunnel WHEN it blows up. Most of the people outside when it goes are also the same people inside. At the same time that "Dark Knight Rises" was filming, there was also some second unit stuff for "Avengers" being shot a few minutes from my house, part of the opening of the film I think. They ended up not really needing any extras, but man, if I could have been a Gotham cop AND a SHIELD agent in the same week, it's very possible that I would have had the biggest nerdgasm ever.
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseRosamund PikeRichard JenkinsA homicide investigator digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper responsible for a mass shooting.I got to work for a day as a porter in a bus station (which was actually a car dealership), and again, I'm not sure if I make it into the film at all. Man, Cruise is CRAZY young-looking for his age...
- DirectorGus Van SantStarsMatt DamonFrances McDormandJohn KrasinskiA salesman for a natural gas company experiences life-changing events after arriving in a small town, where his corporation wants to tap into the available resources.I hang out at a bar a lot and also sat in the stands at a little league game.
- CreatorGlen MorganStarsChloë SevignyJames D'ArcyJames MorrisonFollows Catherine Jensen, a recently promoted homicide detective who enlists the help of Thomas Schaeffer, a forensic psychologist, to track down serial killers and relentlessly seeks the truth behind the disappearance of her brother.I just got my first job working behind the scenes on the pilot for this A&E show, which is an adaptation of a Danish crime drama from last year. I did a couple of days of P.A. work setting up the production offices and stuff, and they said they liked me, so I have a good chance of getting asked to work more on this project as it gets closer to actually shooting. I'm pretty psyched about this, because it's tough getting crew work if you're a total newbie with no real experience behind the scenes or if you don't know anyone that can really help you, so at least having this on my resume might help me get future gigs.
- CreatorLeo ChuEric GarciaStarsRyan PotterCarlos KnightGracie DziennyThree high school students - Mike Fukanaga, Owen Reynolds, and Amanda McKay - become ninjas with the help of Mike's grandpa. My second opportunity to work on a TV show in less than 2 weeks! I just worked on "Those Who Kill" last week, and I will be working IN s second season episode of this show next week. Not quite sure what I'll be doing yet.
- DirectorMichael GrassoStarsCarter RoyRachael CarpaniAbbie CobbWhile trying to discover more about the killer of his son, Brennan becomes fixated on the story of The Umbrella Man, a suspected shooter in the assassination of President John F. KennedyI was just a lawyer in the background of a few courthouse scenes. It's supposed to be 1982 or 1983, and my suit was particularly brutal as far as early-80s fashion goes. I think I looked like the guy in "Goodfellas" that screwed up and spent the money...
- DirectorBennett MillerStarsSteve CarellChanning TatumMark RuffaloU.S. Olympic wrestling champions and brothers Mark Schultz and Dave Schultz join "Team Foxcatcher", led by eccentric multi-millionaire John du Pont, as they train for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, but John's self-destructive behavior threatens to consume them all.I worked on this one on two different days, but was called to work on even more, as much of the movie was crowd-heavy since they were re-creating a lot of wrestling events. My first day was spent working the room at a gala that Steve Carell's John DuPont was pretty much throwing himself, where I was one maybe one of two guys with longer hair in the entire scene. After unning the loop for hours, we spent a few more hours listening to Carell and Channing Tatum delivering the same speeches over and over and over again. The next time I worked was when they were re-creating the 1988 Olumpics, where we watched Tatum have the same match all day long. It was pretty interesting though, because the whole scene was a good five minutes long or so, and Tatum and the other wrestler went through the entire match each time, so those guys were really going. It wasn't until the end that they just did bits and pieces to get the close-ups and stuff that they wanted.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.Sooooooo, way back in 2011 when I was bummed about not getting to be GCPD and SHIELD in the same summer? I got a second chance last June when the "Captain America" sequel was filming in Cleveland. At first, I only got offered a day on it as a mall shopper when Cap And Black Widow are sneaking around out of costume, trying to find a place where they can see what's on a disc or drive or something. After that, I got a haircut, shaved, sent new pictures to the Marvel casting folks, and was soon contacted about being a SHIELD agent. The day I worked, we did several scenes that were supposed to be at the Triskelion (the headquarters of the Ultimates in the comics) that take place throughout the movie, including some scenes where Robert Redford's walking around, reaction shots to Cap announcing who framed him for shooting one of the other characters, a shootout involving Sharon Carter that's happening while a fleet of helicarriers are attacking overhead, and Cap (both Chris Evans and his stunt double) in full costume crashing through a glass ceiling. Fun stuff! A couple days later, I was asked to come in to see if I'd be a suitable body double/stand-in for Robert Redford, but I unfortunately lost out to...well, someone that was actually a dead ringer for Robert Redford. Still, it was nice to be considered, and the movie looks AWESOME.
- DirectorGabriele MuccinoStarsRussell CroweAmanda SeyfriedAaron PaulA Pulitzer-winning writer grapples with being a widower and father after a mental breakdown; 27 years later, his grown daughter struggles to forge her own connections.I'm not quite sure when this new Russell Crowe flick (my second!) will be hitting theaters, but it seemed like something that they'd try to push around awards season. Anyway, I worked in a scene that took place in 1989 and was decked out in a sweater that Bill Cosby wouldn't be caught dead in. Between takes, Crowe was a pretty funny guy, urging us all to go see "Noah", which was still in theaters, and suggesting that anyone that had scene the film should have better placement in the scene.
