would you say, is the most overused? [link]http://flavorwire.com/233403/visual-representations-of-15-over-used-movie-poster-cliches#1[/link] (I couldn't resist to post this, enjoy!)
Tom Cruise : Always in profile. Horror films : The enormous, looming eye. Thrillers : A silhouette running down a blue street. Miscelleanous : Faces created out of film elements. Action flick : Black and white with a shock of red flame. Big Independent film : A super-saturated golden yellow. Drama/ thrillers : The blindfolded hero must face justice. Romantic comedies films : Only one possible color of dress. Sci-Fi/ Thrillers :The ultra-dramatic back-shot, for the lonely hero. Comic-book action flicks : Black and white with red block text and a weaponry focus. Sexy films : The lead of the film in the background seen through a woman's sexy legs in the foreground. Chich flicks/ Tearjerkers : A silhouette in front of the ocean, with faces floating in the clouds, all in pastel colors. Animals films : Sapphire, and a pairs of figures in profile or from the back (with a huge white moon in the background). Romantic comedies/ buddy movies : Standing the two leads back to back to properly express a tough-love relationship. Character studies : Photobooth faces with overlaid text denotes that the main character is the most important thing in the film.
I don't find any of these clichés overused
