Cars 2: One Shot Review by Keith Simanton1 of 1
Colorful, clever and completely unnecessary Cars 2 finally ends Pixar's streak of great, meaningful animated films. Focusing almost exclusively on the character of Mater, the popular-with-kids, hick tow truck from the first film, is its most egregious error and it leads to a dumbed-down film as well. The spy hooey gets interminable early even though the Pixar-approach makes elements and details of it diverting (the bad guys are lemon cars that demand to be towed around by servile tow trucks).
