2002
- Because of the severe economic downturn in late 2001 and other factors negatively affecting corporate sponsorships, the awards presentations were not open to the public as they have been in years past.
2003
- For the first time ever winners are being announced before the annual awards ceremony.
2007
- The category 'Best Animated Feature' gets added to the association's awards tally bringing the total number of categories to 15.
