Oppenheimer (2023)
Bomb scene was so bad. Made the rest of the movie disappointing.
The bomb scene was so overhyped it killed the rest of the movie for me.
Now I think of Nolan as a pretentious guy. Dude didn't want to use CGI and instead used whatever he used to make a real bomb. Such a dud. The impact of the movie was severely deflated by that weak showing of a atom bomb. I was so looking forward to feel the extreme feelings of seeing that bomb that the the movie was leading up to and it was so bad. Really so bad. Mushroom cloud, no ring, no devastation. The light wasn't that bright. Insane that a movie can be so hyped up over one scene and the scene was absolute crap.
Shame on Christopher Nolan. CGI would have been better.
Doragon Bôru Sûpâ Sûpâ Hîrô (2022)
WATCH THIS MOVIE. Don't let bad reviews turn you off.
This is a great dragon ball film. It's got substance and you truly don't know what's going to happen. For a dragon ball movie that's saying something, it's not supposed to have a big plot. Dragon Ball is power ups and energy blasts. This movie does WAY more than that. I'm not saying it had a deep story because it doesn't but it's not stupid and it kept my interest. One of the best dragon ball movies I've ever seen. I'd give it 10/10 if the story was more complex. But it set the future of dragon ball up so well, I'm so excited.
Snowfall (2017)
Ending of season 5 is so good!!
I was worried about where the story was going but by the end of season 5 I was like WHOA.
I can't wait for season 6. It's a little upsetting knowing it's ending after season 6 but I will be happy if they give it a proper good ending.
Inuyasha (2000)
Worth watching every episode. Great ending imo.
Some arcs weren't developed as much as they could've have been but the ending is so good to me that it's worth watching every episode. The action is classic anime and the story is deep.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Seriously funny.
Made me laugh way more than I thought It would. I needed a good laugh. It's got serious undertones to it as well.
Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
Instant classic
I love everything about this anime. It's a work of art. So deep and visually entertaining.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Truly don't understand the hate
As a 27 yo who watched this movie when it came out and enjoyed it I don't see why people hate this movie. The ending was good and made me feel good. After 19 years I re watched it and i enjoyed it even more.
The Newsroom (2012)
Can we please bring this show back?
The show ended when it could have gone another season. I love the 3 seasons that they did. I pray they bring this show back. They can base it on Wills new family.
Dark (2017)
Top 5 shows of all time.
Exciting and mind blowing. So much attention to detail. Character development is great. Concepts are off the chart interesting. Makes me want to write a novel now.
Once Upon a Time (2011)
Mildly entertaining until season 7 garbage.
The acting wasn't bad, the stories were neat how they were just old and new fairy tales twisted together. Pretty much a simple and basic children's plot though.
Season 7 was hot garbage. A terrible spin off of the first 6 seasons.
The Last Kingdom (2015)
Season 4 did not disappoint. Gold.
I won't post any spoilers but I will say I'm going to be extremely disappointed if they don't make a 5th season.
The characters that they have created are all unique and interesting- even when they kill off a main character and add a new one. The story still works and is a good one. I'd say amazing but I don't need to.
I'm a 26 year old man and this show has brought tears to my eyes on different occasions. When I'm watching this show, I feel like I am Uhtred and I want to see him succeed as bad as I want to succeed in my own life. No other show in history has made me feel this way. I run around the house screaming " I AM UHTRED SON OF UHTRED" to the point that my fiancé now calls me uhtred.
The passion that the writers for this show have is obvious. Nothing is forced. Even if you can guess where the plot is going, they still surprise you with amazing writing and don't get me started on the acting-amazing.
Everyone that is a part of this show is amazing and has given me hope for the future-that people in the industry still care about building a great story.
I hope this series goes on to have 10 seasons. I will be reading all of the books now.
Thank you Bernard Cornwall.
The Shining (1980)
Not a book adaptation
The only scary part of the movie was the lady in the bathtub and only because of her rotten skin. More disgusting than scary.
You miss the build up of Jack Torrance losing his mind. Wendy was terribly annoying. She was supposed to get on jacks nerves I get that but it was like Jack never loved Wendy when the book tells a different story. You don't get to see jack trying to become a better father but failing because of the hotel. They never mention his alcoholism except for in the movies description. The boiler isn't even a part of this movie. Wtf? I honestly wish I never watched it.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
Metaphorical poop.
Besides all of the metaphors and messages this movie sends it doesn't make a lick of sense. How does the boy obtain a poison that a hospital can't detect? How did police never show up to a house that fires multiple gun shots on different days? The family's reaction to the crazy boys actions is ridiculous. The children are 100 percent cool with dying it seems. How does the boy of a well known doctor get killed and nothing happens to the family? No one is investigated and charged with a murder?
It seems the makers of this film just wanted to make something eerie and disturbing without doing any real research. The movie just doesn't work and anyone who says it does, doesn't really understand how a story is supposed to be constructed and delivered.
You (2018)
Season 2 was pure genius
I'm obsessed with movies and shows with twisted endings. I love trying to guess where the story is going. Season 2 of you totally got me. Show me someone who guessed the ending of season 2 and I'll show you a liar. It was great storytelling, the characters were so well developed that I didn't want any of them dying-and I love when a show kills off main characters.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Not as bad as the nerds say
I think the original Star Wars movies were extremely overrated. The new movies shouldn't be hated so much. The bond between Rae and REN is interesting, although I think they should have made it more about them two and not The old emperor. The landscape in TROS is really cool. The sith world was an interesting plot. I like the mystery of Raes origin. The movie kept me interested the whole time. Of course there are some cringeworthy moments, it's a movie made for kids (teenagers). No matter how bad adults think it's for them it's not so of course the plot seems like it's written for 12 year olds. It is !!! Watch the movie and don't compare it to all the others and I bet you'll enjoy it.
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
Don't listen to the bad reviews.
The movie was a really good one. The time travel concept is done quite well because they don't try to over explain it. They even joke about it in the movie. I want to speak about the amazing concept of who rya really is and how it was a lot of fun piecing together together her encounters with the main character-who turns out to be familiar to her.
I've seen a lot of people complain about some things that rya has said. And I'm here to refute them.
1. When rya apologizes for what she did to Maddox you will see reviews about people saying that's when they knew he would be killed-that's wrong. She had just beat him up and broke his leg, which you see from after that moment he walks with a limp for the rest of his life until she eventually kills him by complete accident.
2. When she says her death can't be changed she is right. He killed her in the past, so once he reaches the point of which rya is at the age when she goes back in time to die, that can't be undone because she dies On her last trip and she's told about it on her first trip back in time. So even though she's dying in the past she is just being told about her future death. Which makes sense if you actually sit down and think about it.
3. Relating to the #2- the apocalypse is changed because she completed her mission. Even though she died. She died on her last trip to the past which means she died right after completing her mission. Which was infecting everyone from the white supremacy group with the device from the future that kills everyone by detonation which you see at the very end. Everyone infected was killed at the same time, even though it looks like they happened 9 years apart.
For rya to be saved from dying her grandfather would have to wait another 9 years to try and go back to that night where she was killed and stop him from doing it. Which would have stopped him from continuously pursuing her which eventually led to him convincing her to take on the mission in the first place.
She was supposed to die, he was supposed to keep chasing. He gave up his life by chasing her and she gave up her life by letting him kill her to change the world.
Great story.
Haze (2016)
Good move killed by terrible ending.
I'm not going to spoil this but I enjoyed the movie all the way until the end. I literally had to rewind it twice to make sure it was actually the end and my movie wasn't skipping and cutting off the ending. The ending was that bad that I though it was a glitch.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Not as terrible as people say.
Although the movie is a tad boring and the cgi isn't the best it is a decent movie if you're bored and have nothing else to watch. The main actress is sexy af which makes it tolerable. It's an okay story about two gods going at it. I hate how people say it's just another superhero movie, there are too man-were there not thousands of comic books?
