The Mandalorian: Chapter 1: The Mandalorian (2019)
38 minutes in total, pretty lame for a start
Usually TV series have a length of at least 55 minutes! The Mandalorian of Disney Plus totally disappoints! 38 minutes for the first episode is more than underwhelming! If you look at the 9 episodes, Disney seems to have split one movie here and is showing this as a series. Only of the great cgi I give 5 stars!
Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019)
Pretty entertaining, but they really had to call it Love Actually
First things first: the pilot was a mess up.... pretty boring and more like Love Actually revival. But with the second episode, the TV show showed its great strength: great characters. Especially the small supporting roles are so heartwarming that the show is really entertaining! I hope the show remains refreshing as she came over in the first five episodes!
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt (2019)
What money can buy...
Well, Stranger Things with it's third season was one of the best creative work of the Duffer Brothers. They changed a lot in this season, for some good reasons. They just wanted to surprise everyone. And they played it pretty well.
But finally, the first two episodes were highly disappointing. The characters annoyed with their behaviour. Too many teenage problems the viewers have to struggle with and at the end you asking yourself, why did they do this? Even the acting of the teenage cast was pretty bad in the first episodes. By watching episode 3 you realise back for the first time that Eleven wasn't a mother tongue speaker! In the first two episode Milly Bobby Brown characterised her like a typical hysterical teenage girl.
Also I had struggle about the characteristics of Hopper! From the capricious Chief, he mutated to the aggressive bad tempered Chief! But to be fair David Harbours acting was such a joy in this season. Also Wynona Ryder was brilliant and I really liked how her character changed in this season. For the first time I loved Joyce!
So, there were some issues why it wasn't a brilliant, but a surprising good season.
The setting of the season was spectacular, the special effects mind blowing. So, Netflix put most of the money in creating this season! What is a good decision for the creators, the crew and the fans. Fact is that other productions are not happy with this decision. Because Netflix cuts the money on other productions, insiders say. And is it worth it? I don't know, but don't like it, when other productions are getting worse, just because they don't have the money to do something better!
Stranger Things: Chapter Two: The Mall Rats (2019)
Ups and downs
So we are in episode 2 now and the magnets and that Billy went to the other dimension was a good starter for the mysteries.
But first we still have to struggle with the cringe behaviour of the the teenage heroes. But that's not the only thing: the scenes at the newspaper is the most stupidest plot! It's like a big joke of characters! The Duffys just forgot that in the past weird things happened in Hawkins and the media might be aware when strange things happening again! But yeah, it's the easiest way to show the world before #metoo happened!
Stranger Things: Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy? (2019)
When there is just black or white
It frustrating when people only ranked only one or two stars just because they do not like the episode, but still be totally entertained. 1 or 2 stars would be on the level of the comedy show "Under One Roof", which comes to 1.5 stars! I think imdb should be working on their system. Most of the so-called fans knows only white or black, but nothing in between!
So talking about Episode 1:
I think it was an episode that was done well, but not excellent. The biggest issue that this season has to struggle with, is the teenage behaviour. The main cast are now at an age where they are expierience love for the first time. Unfortunately, the Duffy brothers have created that part exaggerated and sometimes even embarrassing, so it's almost annoying, especially for all who have been out of old for a long time.
In many countries, the series is verified because of the horror and violence scenes only for viewers up of the age of 16. If the Duffy had noticed, probably we had seen a different kind of episode. And I wondered why no one of the kids struggling with what happened with them in the past. They just live like nothing happened. Like: look at us it's the 80ies TV Bubble Gum world we live in! Seriously?
Many fans got annoyed in season two that the little 80's references almost completely disappeared from the show! In this first episode are already so many references, it's almost too much.
What I did like and what they did brilliant in that episode were the scenes were combined just by the camera!
The kids cast was okay so far, not great acting. Unfortunately Milly Bobby Brown was the biggest disappointment in her acting. Sometimes she acts like a fashion model being on a catwalk: look I suppose to getting sexy! But David Harbour and Winona Ryder did a really excellent job! For the first time I really liked Winona's character in this show!
The Last Czars (2019)
It seems historical correct
However, the scenes shot are not really good! Unfortunately the dialogues do not convince! Instead of gleaming halfway with dialogues that give the story a depth, the authors are just using too many platitudes! Even the actors are almost bored in most of the scenes! A pity, that could have been something great!
In Enemy Hands (2004)
This movie is one of the badest movie I have seen
It starts with the Plot. If anyone thinks, that German nazis behaved like that, even that the Americans fight with each other in the end. That writer didn't understands the two world wars! Than the UBoat, well it's like an UBoat comes close to the Nuclear UBoats build in the 90ies! When did the Second World War ends? 1945! Correct UBoats looked totally different 45 years earlier! As I said, the creators didn't understand the Second World War!
And the acting, oh boy, it was so bad, like the whole directing. But had anyone noticed, how each actor, who dies in this movie....let me say: I think they had a competition who is dying with the worst acting. When Scot Caan acted the characters dead, it looked like the replaced him with a display dummy. But then came Clark Gregg, and he I his death performance. I was waiting for at least a minute, that somebody will start a laugh! But finally the characters dead was acting the worst was germans actor Til Shweiger. He acted his characters dead with an in his eyes, that says: what am I actually doing here!
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
To all who gave 1 star...Shame OnYou!
It's ridiculous and childish to give 1 star, because of the poor writing! Yes, D&D wrote an ending that doesn't make any sense, because of rushing to the end, the mistakes and the wrong decisions they made over the past two seasons. It was impossible to finally deliver an ending that made sense after all. That's D&Ds fault and they have to live with it their entire life!
But to rate this episode 1 star is disrespectful to all actors, to the special effect department, to costume designs, to the whole crew! Because they did an outstanding work and was one in a kind! They work there asses off and just because of one of the badest ending in tv history, you rated it 1 star? Shame on you!
