Joy Ride (2023)

One of the Best Films of the Year

I got early access to "Joy Ride" which I've been looking forward to watching all year and it didn't disappoint.

There's been a lot of bad comedies I watched this year but this isn't one of them. This raunchy comedy is about 3 Asian woman and one non conforming finding there identity as they travel through China looking for Audrey's birth mother.

I loved the tone because it feels like a 2009 comedy in the best way mixed with todays humor. There's a lot of callback jokes, physical gags, and quippy dialogue which I love in a comedy film. I was laughing the whole time.

Ashley Park and Stephanie Hsu were the reasons I went to see this after there performance sun earlier A24 projects but the whole cast killed it.

The editing was punchy and there wasn't ever a second where I felt bored. The film goes at a fast but manageable pace. Even though this was comedy it did tackle serious issues and had some strong emotional moments in it which I didn't really expect which you lose in these newer comedy films.

I'm leaving this vague just because you should go see this film blind the trailer gives away half of the movie so I wouldn't watch if you want to have the best experience. But all 4 of the main characters go through changes by the end which are definitely well deserved.

My excitement was met so for a comedy film I give it a 10/10. I know it may not be for everyone though because there's a lot of sex jokes but it goes along with the films message of sex positivity.

Worst Australian and Horror Movie in General

"Talk To Me" a movie I was excited to see. This is my third Australian horror film I've seen behind "Relic" (one of my favorites), and the Babadook.

This movie was complete garbage. It took scenes from "Relic" and is basically a less compelling version of "Annabelle Comes Home".

The movie has very obvious foreshadowing and I found myself falling asleep while watching it. All the horror elements are structure the same and feels like an AI wrote them. The most interested part was barely in there and just teenagers saying stories they heard so you get no first hand information. There was sound mixing issues and the dialogue was clunky. There was so many useless characters and it took a good chunk of the movie to settle on a main one. Don't get me started about the ending it doesn't even make sense with the rest of the film because the film basically says nothing the whole movie. People were calling out the twists about two scenes before they were happening.

This felt like someone who watched one horror movie and thought they could make there own. I loved how people complained about "Slenderman" but that's a masterpiece compared to this film. It feels like it was written by someone who never went to high school everything was so robotic.

This movies has no redeemable qualities I was extremely disappointed. It's scarceness comes from gore as a shock factor which honestly isn't scary.

Honestly 0/10 one of the worst movies I've seen and it barely counts as a story. I would skip seeing this convoluted mess. If anyone disagrees talk to the hand ✋ .

Euphoria: Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door (2022) Season 2, Episode 1

OK I guess...

I was so excited for the release and it was a let down. I really enjoyed the first part with Fez's origin story. It was done well, and loved seeing Lexi again. The second half just seem campy, and they want to show all the characters we loved. Honestly this first episode has very little plot or build up, and lacks the complex crafting season one has. After the special episodes I was wondering if this season was going to be told from Jules's perspective. At this point I couldn't really tell because, the characters made decisions out of context. Hope it gets better in episode two.

River (I) (2021)

Brilliant film

Throws you right into the film expirence lots of twists and turns and river had grade a acting. Beatiful shot had me guessing what was next and i was extremely engaged. I owuld highly recommend watching this film if you're into the sci-fi and drama genres because river has a such a unique voice and can't wait to see more from Emily Skye.

Netflix's Hidden Gem

I had really fun time watching this show its fast pace, witty, and covers so many topics ranging from female empowerment through sexuality. The shows very witty and enjoyable to watch. I highly recommend this show it was well done and very original you will not be disappointed, and honestly underrated.

Locke & Key (2020–2022)

Barely a spoiler in here and also unwatchable show

Locke and key one of the worlds stupidest shows. The plot twists were predictable there was only one orginal one. The show its too clever for itself to the point its cocky. All the episodes follow the same plot line with his throwing all exposition In the final 2 episodes even then it didn't explain some answers. This show was riddled with continuity errors and the villian was established very poorly. This show just off my head ripped off lights our and harry potter and probably many more shows and movies. Spoilers ahead too!!!!!

Netflix's the order had a whole episode where they took out fear kinsey still had fear the character don't evolve and the last 2 episodes are slightly engaging. With almost a complete rip off of lights out as the final episode for the first 15 minutes . Netlfix canceled some great shows but of this canceled i wouldn't care. The dialogue is poorly written and it feels like im watching a awful CW show. All the interesting parts theh brush over and jsut forget it in the plot and they magically appear. Which is a shame because the cinematographery was beautiful. I wouldnt watch a second season the first season was unwatchable. I would recommend for younger kids who don't care about plot as much because it just through it out the window.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)

Excellent Movie Totally Worth the hype

This movie is excellent I watch it when it dropped at midnight. This movie has a very stylistic theme which the first one didnt have which i enjoyed. Don't want to spoil but there was one cheesy street fighter based fight seen if it wast in there and the design 10/10. It was super fun and I had no expectations but it was worth the wait. Way more story then the last time that fits the story. Jenna Ortega did a exceptional job and it had lots of twists and turns. It had humor and it was a great sequel hope theres a 3rd. Overall a great comedy produced by Netflix.

Don't Talk to Irene (2017)

Great movie

This movie was hilarious because of the sass. I give it of 8 becuase there seemed to be a lot of dick jokes and it seemed unessary. But otherwise it was a great film with a great message. I would recommend watching this.

Truth or Dare (I) (2018)

Going in with low expactions but came out surprised

This looked like a bad movie from the outside and i decided to finally watch it and was surprised. The acting was spot on and it was a good move how the antagonist palyed off the characters with a few surprises. Overall good movie and hope it has a sequel

Dimension 404 (2017)

Dimension 404 isn't a rip off

People keep saying this is a bad black mirror. But tv shows can be formatted this way.This show was made for a low budget because it was crowd funded. It holds up and has good storylines. Some episodes aren't so good but it is worthy to watch all the way through. The elements of story were strong and there were easter eggs hidden throughout the show. Enjoyable watch I would recommend this to people.

Venom (2018)

Venom The First of many

The critics are wrong. This movie was amazing and the acting was well done. The plot was well thought out and wasn't the same spiderman vs venom story. Especially the ending setting up for a sequel. The only reason why people didn't like this movie because they thought it was going to be a action packed movie, but this difference made good instead of Disney same dtorylines every time. Sony therefore understands marvel better tjen Disney. A marvelous madterpeice that i would recommend

The Ring Two (2005)

Not as good as the American Orginal

Disclosure I have not seen the asian version of the ring. If I say the original I'm referring to the american version. The ring 2 wasn't as interesting as the original. It basically was the original. I gave it a three for effort I liked the ending but throughout the whole movie nothing happens that you haven't seen in the first one. I would just avoid this completely and watch the first one if you want to be disappointed watched The Ring 2.

The Nun (2018)

Different But Still Amazing

The nun has been part of the conjuring universe for a long time. This is the most religious aspects of the other movies, but it was still amazing. This movie was one of my favorite horror movies of this year. It leaves you answered the questions from the other series and makes you ask more. The work that was done on this movie is amazing, and shouldn't be judged as another rip off horror. If you like the other conjuring movie I would recommend the Nun.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

One of Marvels Worst

I don't understand how this movie got so much hype, it's completely ridiculous. The time Thanos took to gather all the infinity stones (six years) he could've went to the planets and killed half of the people. He didn't even complete his mission which was to and I quote "destroy half of ALL lif in the universe" which was later change to creatures because they noticed he didn't do that. Their were a bunch of unnecessary scenes and scenes that didn't even make sense. This movie was all over the place and was very hard to follow. Spoiler right here---> A example of this was when he through Gamora off the cliff he shed one tear and was like whatever I now have the last soul stone, and Gamora was the only person Thanos loved and he didn't seem like he cared. The other complete ridiculous thing about this movie is the spiderman bus scene in Homecoming it didn't show he had spidey sense, and finally it was aid in the movie the stones were scatter across the universe that should've taken Thanos longer to find them. My final review 2/10 would not recommend this movie to any superhero fan. The whole movie was just a way for marvel to get money. If you want to see this method done right go to Justice League or Legends of Tomorrow.

The Vampire Diaries reinvented the way you look at vampires in the media. It is not the classic vampire love story. Each episode seems like its own movie. If you like romance, action, drama, and supernatural occurrences this is the show for you. Be warned this show is very addicting and you will want to binge it.
