This film is pretty much just two hours of set-up & exposition dumps. I don't mind that the effects are outdated; it's just a poorly written film.

Beautifully, beautifully, beautifully done. You feel every single emotion; you feel this man's life. You feel what could've been and what was. You feel a sad nostalgia mixed with a grateful closure. Incredible performances, incredible writing, incredible music, and incredible direction. A truly FANTASTIC feat!

As someone who has dealt with the immense pain of this commonly misunderstood addiction, I was so floored by how incredibly accurate this film is that it honestly meant the world to me when Mark Ruffalo is talking about what it's like to have a disease that makes you violates your beliefs. This film is everything to me...
