The Whale (2022)
Well deserved Oscar
What an amazing film. Brendan Fraser is outstanding and a million miles away from previous Mummy etc roles. I'd put watching this off for some time as I wanted to be in the right mood to watch as I'm more of a fast paced film guy.
By the end I was blubbing as the characters (Charlie and Ellie) worked their magic to create a stunning film with just a handful of characters and a small apartment.
Nearly every scene in the film was emotional and the time sailed by. Part of me wishes he had decided to get the help he needed but that would not have had the same impact. I suppose that's why I'm not a screen writer !
The Covenant (2023)
Another Guy Ritchie masterpiece
Absolutely loved this, wasn't sure to start but got very involved with the characters and the theme of the movie. About 10 minutes in I was hooked by the filmography and the quality of the script and acting. Quite some famous others alongside Jake, but he and 'Ahmed' steal the show absolutely.
Wasn't sure if this was based on a true story, it's nice to think that it was if not then it's highlighting the plight of this war and the aftermath to real citizens of Afghanistan.
Didn't cry but it had potential and was disappointed when the film ended as I was left wanting to know what happened. I filled that bit in myself.
How sad that many interpreters have not had the promised help.
100% Wolf (2020)
6 yr old engrossed
Few movies keep our son quiet, this one did. No idea why. I didn't watch it so hence I decided to give it 5 rating. If I'd been rating on how peaceful it was for 1.5hrs then it would be a 10
The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011)
Really sick
Quite a disturbing main character so difficult to watch. I do like gore but this was just creepy
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
Eeeek
Why not indeed!!! It's not well acted but concept is different I suppose
American Assassin (2017)
Good action film
It's an obvious story line but enjoyable all the same. Quite well acted and plenty of violence if you like that kind of thing
Gun No 6 (2018)
BBC brilliance
A hard hitting documentary about the lives affected by the use of an illegal hand gun across 2 major cities in Great Britain. Brilliant!
