Good fun. Feel good movie
19 April 2022
If you're looking for something deep and meaningful this isn't for you. The story has been told a million times before. And you know how it's going to end.

But.... It's a great ride along the way. Bullock once again proves she's a great comedic actress. Tatum plays the part of the dumb pretty boy well. The chemistry between the two of them is great.

Brad Pitt has a great cameo and delivers a fantastic performance. Da'Vine Joy Randolph hits the mark every time. The weakest link in the ensemble is Daniel Radcliffe who just looks too nice to be a villain.

The whole cinema was laughing and chuckling all the way through at the screening I went to.

So if you want a feel good movie that you can just sit back, relax and enjoy. This is the one.

Not as good as season one.
5 April 2022
After watching episode one of the first season, I binged watched the rest. After watching the first episode of season 2 I just felt a bit flat. The old characters seemed a bit hammy and the new characters were badly miscast. Simone Ashley especially. She didn't have the spark needed for the part.... If she's the main love interest in this season, viewers will be turning off in droves.

London???
28 October 2021
Don't they realise that English viewers will know this isn't filmed in London. A few phone boxes, black cabs and other props can't disguise the fact that it's New York.

Not London
22 August 2021
I'm a big fan of this show and love the locations. I have visited all the places they have filmed in. As someone who lived in London for 28 years, I was looking forward to this episode.

The first outdoor scene in London was outside a church, which was definitely not an English church. The building behind the bench that they sat on had widows you would never find in England.

All of the outdoor scenes were obviously Eastern European. Did they think that an American audience would be duped? Certainly no European would think this was any part of the UK.

From the fake London interiors to just about everything else "English" in this programme. They got it wrong.

Amoral Doctors
21 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
How could you put your lives in the hands of these doctors? Halstead, Manning and Archer. Have no ethics or morals. Forever breaking the rules and going completely against medical ethics when it suits their needs.

Just recently Manning stole trial drugs to give to her mother when told she wasn't eligible for the trial. Complications arose for which Halstead helped cover up, even though he had already endangered the trial with another patient. Not to mention his illegal work at the illegal drug taking facility. This is a man who likes to get on his high horse at the failings of others. But he is the worst offender. A complete hypocrite.

And Archer, recently put a patient in a morphine induced coma so that he could perform an operation that the patient had refused. Completely disregarding the patients wishes.

I always thought doctors were supposed to be the good guys. Now I know that it's an entertainment programme, but for a lot people it's a reflection of what really happens. Chicago Med tries to make these character likeable and realistic. However all it does is give the public little faith in the people who sometimes hold our lives in their hands.

Too much mumbling
4 March 2021
I love this show, my only problem is the actors speech. As a Brit I'm used to and a big fan of US shows. From Happy Days in the 70s to Law and Order, and all the Chicago franchise present day. I have never had a problem understanding dialogue. In this show however 30% of what is said is completely unintelligible. If it's not mumbled through closed lips there's background music or other noise obscuring what is said. And I don't mean during battle scenes. I'm constantly having to rewind, sometimes twice to find out what is being discussed.

So many continuity blunders
5 July 2020
As someone who has lived in London for a very long time I always like to watch movies set there so I can look out for recognisable sights. However I always feel aggrieved when things are out of order. In the car chase after the massacre. The president's car is supposed to be making a hasty exit to Somerset House, a 3 minute drive with all the roads closed However, they end up passing the Bank of England which is in the opposite direction. Upon reaching Somerset House they jump in the helicopter to head to Stansted airport. After being in the air for several minutes they are still over central London, at one point over Charring Cross station. Again in the opposite direction. Surely if you're trying to get the president to safety you would take the quickest or least dangerous route. Not fly over central London where anyone it seems with a rocket launcher has access to the roof's of tall buildings

Didn't the budget stretch to wardrobe?
18 May 2020
I'm used to bleak windswept scenery being a huge fan of Vera. But there's only so much scenery padding I can take. This programme could do with being 30 minutes shorter to start with. The main characters are all miserable and one dimensional. No one cracks a smile or gives any hint of a personality. Even the guest actors for each story a a miserable bunch. I found myself not caring about any of them. I'm 4 episodes in and the main character has worn the same pair of very distinctive jeans throughout every episode. In one episode he never changed his outfit all through the investigation which must have lasted, days if not weeks. I was so distracted by his lack of wardrobe and obvious lack of hygiene that I didn't care about the story. I'm going to give the rest of this a miss as I don't see it getting any better

Boring Zzzzzzzz
24 November 2019
The most boring and ridiculous episode ever. The storyline petered out halfway through. Bombs going off in a packed city hall.... No casualties. S.W.A.T arriving on the scene at every incident with seconds to spare, with little or no intel on how they found the locations. They were meant to be dealing with sophisticated criminals who got away on their last encounter. Rubbish.... I was so bored I was almost glad for the commercials

Scandal: You Can't Take Command (2015)
Season 4, Episode 22

I enjoyed it
8 June 2015
I enjoyed this episode. I think the writers have deliberately left lots of story lines open. It was great to see Command get his comeuppance at last. However I can't see a man of his resources being held for long. Will Jake return? (Hopefully). How could Olivia let him go? We know it's not the end for Cyrus, Mellie, Rowan and Miya. Will Huck curb his murderous ways? Will David and Abby hook up again?..... The only sour note was the vomit inducing final scenes between Olivia and Fitz.....

Does anyone really like this relationship? Everyone I speak to seems to think Olivia and Jake are the perfect match! Come on writers, if you don't want to lose viewers sort this out! Looking forward to the new series.

Straight Sex and the Silver Screen
8 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Looked forward to getting this box set. What a disappointment. The early episodes were reasonably informative. Lots of Hollywood scandal and gossip to go with a good narrative. By the time it got to the 60s the whole thing became very turgid. Gay sex in films or gay themed films were barely mentioned. The only example I can remember being Midnight Cowboy. The whole thing is more about censorship than actual films. There are lots of quotes from obscure people, but no interviews with producers, directors, actors or anyone at all. Just Miss Welch giving a narration. If you really must see this I recommend you rent it not buy it.
