Reviews
LA Shrinks (2013)
Amateur Night On Bravo
Worst Show Ever! (Least as far as cable is concerned)
Acting - In addition to the three main "stahs" being completely incapable of being themselves on camera for a second, They went ahead and hired a troupe of reality washouts from shows you seen before to play their "patients". I bet even even the kids and pets came from Central Casting too.
Writing - Straight out of hackneyed and unused spec scripts from 20 years ago. Mom gets thrown in the pool at "random", Patient makes snappy one-liner then winks at the camera, and hijinks ensue at a gay nightclub. Oooh, How unscripted and real.
Cinematography - Ugh-lee! Everyone's been glossed over with the softest lighting and cleaned u with the most modern digital palette to hide the aging effects of this over 40 cast in a laughable attempt to pass them off as 20 somethings. I live in California and the pretty pastels that are LA of this show is as much of a fantasy as the India you see in Bollywood.
Music - Sounds like they got a cut rate bargain from leftover Desperate Housewife cues complete with campy chimes and clichéd ambiance. Honestly, A porn soundtrack would have fit better and been more appropriate too.
Educational Value - Like Oprah or Springer but for people who need those shows explained to them a.k.a. Programming for the Obama voter. There is nothing of merit going on here or any solving of problems, Just pop-humanism pablum passing for new age junk science.
I should also add that Dr. Venus Nicolino is in fact a life coach and NOT a therapist as she lets herself be marketed here, In order to be a therapist you need to be licensed which she is not.
Thanks Andy, We as a nation are now dumber for you having let this travesty aired. You let this happen on your watch.
And to think, It's been in the works since 2009!
At least that's the last we will ever hear of this show and these "doctors" outside maybe reality conventions.
