The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers (2006)
No Region 1 DVD Releases - that's exactly why this GARBAGE evaded Common Sense Media
Yes, this garbage is NOT on Common Sense Media. I emailed them asking them politely if they could review it, but they couldn't - as an American company, CSM can only review content only available and made in the USA, while this show has had a couple of DVD releases - not one of them is for Region 1.
This show is a pile of rubbish that we can all live without. Everything is stupid in here. The made-up language and names all look and sound stupid. And are the creators unaware of the fact that "Xan" is a drug?
The name Réndøosîa is so garbage-sounding and mocking. And it doesn't exist - they depict accurate maps of Europe. Let's just forget about it and pretend these brothers are from Phaethon (the planet that is now the asteroid belt - or Maldek as the new agers call it).
The three Pathetic Maldek-Phaethonian Brothers make nothing good for themselves nor on the viewers as they travel around the world. Their stunts are extremely unsafe and it seems that they don't even know what safety is. All their successes are just purely based on luck rather than safety! That is NOT how to produce your characters.
The big fat brother, who I don't even want to say his name, already knows how to CURSE (yes, the brothers do curse - it says so on the website) - but in an episode, can't even count to 5! Are you even kidding me right now? And the brother named after the drug is so obsessed with getting foreign girls! What is this show doing right now?
And needless to say - flash animation kills it.
Anyway, the Pathetic Maldek-Phaethonian Brothers will forever be remembered as one of the worst cartoons ever made and what NOT to do when making a cartoon - but I also hope their memory will disintegrate away into nothing, just like what happened to their home planet - which is now a collection of asteroids between Mars and Jupiter.
Team Umizoomi (2010)
Dante's Divine Comedy is more scientifically accurate than this
Dante's Divine Comedy was intended to be scientifically accurate as it included the widely-accepted scientific theories of that time (for example, spherical Earth, gravity, geocentric Solar System, being day and night in opposite sides of the world, etc.) But when I watched Team Umizoomi when I was younger, now I can compare. There is an episode where the largest star is revealed to be - not a cloud of superheated gas and plasma fusing hydrogen or other elements in its core to support it from gravitational collapse - but rather a house for comets! And those comets are smaller than a human! And yet again in another episode, they said that 100 is the biggest number. Are you kidding me right now? You want to be educational and accurate, yet what are you teaching children? There are an infinite number of numbers larger than 100. Thus, I do not recommend this show, and am proud to give it a 3/10. Sorry, Nickelodeon. This is probably your worst and most inaccurate show.
Danny Phantom (2003)
Good cartoon
I just found this, and even though I only watched one episode, I enjoyed it. I discovered DP through Martha Speaks because Helen's father is named after him.
Martha Speaks (2008)
Edit: Changed my mind. Never will be as famous as Danny Phantom and The Fairly OddParents because it doesn't deserve it
Yes, I've changed my mind.
I used to like Martha Speaks when I first found out about it. I tried (in vain) to create Wikipedia pages on the characters, wasn't successful. Then I found out about Butch Hartman and his shows. Both Danny Phantom and The Fairly OddParents are much more famous than Martha Speaks, and at first I got annoyed at Martha Speaks being so "unnotable" and "underrated"; I've gotten into lots of trouble on Wikipedia over Martha Speaks's notability because they let The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom have mentions in some of their list pages, but they won't let Martha Speaks have mentions!
But of course, my mind has changed. I wouldn't recommend this show anymore. I'm now a hater.
Yes, I get it, it's supposed to promote English studies and things like vocabulary and Shakespeare, and stuff like that. And that's good. Shakespeare is good for kids. But Martha Speaks is poor-quality and waters down the vocabulary definitions. SparkNotes already did Shakespeare videos (intended primarily for students but good for kids too) and there's a real Danny Phantom book based on Macbeth and the infamous curse myth. But Martha Speaks is a real shocker when it comes to astronomical definitions. The definition of weight (how much a force like gravity exerts on matter) is lied-to, and the astronomical definitions are the worst. Believe me, I like astronomy and have studied it ever since the age of 5 (I'm being honest). They called Canis Major in an episode "Martha Supremo" (though it was corrected in a later one). Seriously now?
And of course, I agree with other aspects other people mentioned here and on Common Sense Media the flash animation makes it terrible, the plot holes are overused, etc. Helen's dad was my favorite character when I used to like and watch this show. But of course, I don't like him anymore.
Speaking of Butch Hartman's shows, Helen's dad is named after Danny Fenton (look it up), and in the Martha Speaks episode "Dogs in Space" they ripped off Crash Nebula from The Fairly OddParents! Shame on you, PBS Kids and WGBH Boston! Are you trying to water down Butch Hartman's shows? If you deny it, then too bad! I've leaked it out here!
So I am now to conclude why I no longer like this show. I wouldn't recommend it, even to English studies teachers. It's just a watered-down mix of dog literature ("dognuttery"), Butch Hartman, and Shakespeare.
And yes, I know I've mentioned him way too many times in this review, but Butch Hartman (and Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy, American Dad, etc.) made their own version of Martha Speaks. It's called "Zoomates", look it up.
IRrelevant Astronomy (2008)
Highly hilarious and educational.
Seriously... these guys should continue making this series, it's one of the best ever.
