A non-secular life

I was wondering how a spiritual life might look. This movie is a good example of how foolish spiritual living can appear to non-believers. Leaving me with the question: Can I trust the Lord when I cannot see anyway to make things work out?

Light reveals truth.

Job 12:22 He reveals the deep things of darkness, and brings deep shadows into the light.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose, Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.

Drama defines character

Very well written. I love the respect given to the audience who allowed to discover characters through the story. We are not told by narration who, what where or why.

Drama develops naturally to develop our understanding as does our love of characters.

Beyond excellent photography, efficient editing and directing, this movie captures the rich depth of characters the original book brings to life. Not only will I effusively recommend to family, I intend to watch repeatedly myself.

Science error?

Just a minor flaw that makes little difference to plot. A thermos bottle contains heat or cold due to a layer of rarefied air (sometimes referred to as a vaccum) because long wave heat has difficulty passing through areas of few molecules. Space is rarefied air with molecules widely dispersed. 4 humans and their associated microbes would generate heat that would adversely affect their health while surrounded by vacuum more so than the cold invading the container. I think far more likely occupants packed into a small crate would displace the air necessary for 4 humans to breathe

Interstellar (2014)

Mind expanding in the manner of 2001 A Space Odyssey

A beautiful production. This is what I expect from science fiction: science fact extended with fictional situations to ponder questions from differing perspectives. I hate the genre is filled with cheesy horror stories and am so glad this stellar filled production does not stoop low to gain boxoffice count.

Using Tim writing a letter to his father with whom he has always had a strained relationship, this episode explores seeming discrepancies in Gibbs' rules, Tim's father's rules, and Tim's rules. The exploration includes Tim's thoughts about the purpose of rules and parenting while providing in one episode a great number of Gibb's rules. Viewers of the series will remember Gibb's wife, Shannon starting his list-making effort. Each rule is born of a life lesson.
