Unbelievable (2019)
Not a comfortable watch, but a gripping on
This isn't a how that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. The characters are very human, they make mistakes, some of them are just plain wrong. The acting is incredible. At times you will like characters at other times you really won't, but they will be believable and not overdone. It doesn't rely on action, or other kinds of plot devices that stretch the imagination. It tells a very real story about real people.
Some people may find it slow or boring because it is totally story and character driven, but the story is taut and the acting is on point. It brings up some really uncomfortable points and truths about how sexual crimes have been treated and reporters of sexual crimes have been treated and continue to be treated in our society.
Blood & Treasure (2019)
Only real fun is predicting the next scene or line before it happens
I am not sure there is an original scene or line in this entire show.It has beautiful people and the scenery is decent, but that is about the only positive. The opening scene was painful and it did get better from there, but only marginally so and only because it would be almost impossible to get worse.
Jack Taylor (2010)
Not horrible, just terribly repetitibe
It isn't a bad series, but every episode seems to follow a formula and have all the same elements in it. People are stonewalling him, He beats someone up, someone abducts him and for some reason just beats him up a bit and then for some reason lets him go one or more times. The guards won't help him, he drinks a lot.
It isn't a bad show at all, but every episode seems so similar it just gets long.
Somewhere Between (2017)
Bad writing, bad acting,
Devon Sawa is good, pretty much everyone else is average to horrible in this series including the child actors. Not that they are given much to work with, the writing and directing is horrible as well. I tried to stick with it to give it a chance to develop, but it just didn't get much better. The first episode was almost unwatchable and it did graduate to just a bit above unbearable, but eventually the totally unrealistic writing and overacting wore me down and I realized there were far better ways to spend my time than watching this poorly executed show.
