Coronation Street (1960)
Ridiculous script for the Yasmeen and Geoff story
Having been one and having worked with battered women for years I can only say the story line is pathetic and ridiculous. That a woman of her age would even consider putting up with spousal abuse is totally ridiculous but worse that she would plead guilty is just unbelievable.
All around her she's friends and family who know the truth but the writers have her sitting there like a stupid lump on a rock refusing to fight back. Just too ridiculous to watch. Having one's husband give them an STD is more than enough for any woman, especially an older more experienced in life woman, to fight back and showing her cowering is just stupid at best and completely unrealistic.
It's all been done for sensationalism and that's just really unfortunate for the real battered women out there. Until this story line ends and Jeff is removed this soap is a definite miss IMO. Frankly the writers should be ashamed to have milked it this far with so much stupidity.
Carter (2018)
Worth a look.......maybe
I like all the characters except the lead one Carter and the episodes would be fun if it weren't for him. I can't figure out why the writers make Carter so stupid and annoying. His know it all stupid character adds absolutely nothing good to the show. Quite the opposite. I turn it on altho I don't know why because I get immediately annoyed when Carter enters the scene and end up changing the channel. Just MY opinion guys.
Space Force (2020)
Silly and boring!
Only watched 2 episodes feeling determined to like it because someone told me it was good but it's anything but IMO. It's not good or even OK because it's just too stupid. Perhaps the writers should have tried harder to actually be funny because some stupid 4 star general without a clue and acting like a dummy in an equally ridiculous plot is anything but entertaining. And I still do not know why his wife ended up in a long term prison sentence in episode 2. That was not explained and really ticked me off.
Jamie & Jimmy's Food Fight Club (2012)
Just yuk!
As a vegan the one thing I absolutely do not need to see are the animals they're going to murder so they can feast on dead flesh and call it delicious. That has no curb appeal at all IMO. Also as a vegan it sure would be nice to see them cook some meals without including a dead animal in it. Again IMO.
Wild Bill (2019)
Great acting and interesting plots
Wild Bill definitely has great acting and interesting plots that are easy to follow. And being a fan of Rob Lowe sure doesn't hurt who even while an embittered man is fun to watch. But OMG the majority of the Brits in the series are nasty unpleasant quite horrible people and nothing but a cold draft in what could have been a really enjoyable series.
And it's not just the cops who are nasty rude creeps. It's literally everyone in every episode who has a nasty streak running down their back that dominates every scene. It's either a horrible depiction of Brits or just insulting to them but either way I completely understand why it's not getting a second season because by the end I found myself quite turned off by the unpleasant mood it leaves behind.
The Valhalla Murders (2019)
Useless cops messing around in the dark.
The only thing I liked is some of the incredible scenery but one need not sit thru a terrible show to see that. I'm half way into the 3rd episode and done like toast I'm so fed up with the extreme stupidity and incompetence of every cop involved.
The cops believing they're after a serial killer are still literally never prepared even when chasing a suspect and are frequently assaulted because they're running around in the dark with a torch that lights one square foot and lose their suspects so often it's ridiculous. They even drive to the Valhalla boys home and search the huge building in the dark with the same ridiculous weenie flashlights rather than wait for daylight and get proper lighting to see properly. Somehow the producers think it makes the mystery better. I'm here to tell them it DOES NOT! It makes it completely unbelievable is what it makes it. The stupidity through out the show is annoying and intolerable.
I'm also left wondering if Iceland still hasn't heard about electricity and lamps that light their homes and offices because both are so ridiculously dark they seem to be lit by a kids night light. I know of no office lit so poorly or anyone who lives in the dark in their homes. It's stupidity taken to the extreme and hopefully not an accurate description of how Icelandic cops really are or how the people of Iceland really live.
Christmas Jars (2019)
Just ridiculous!
Love Christmas movies and tend to binge watch this time of year as they're usually quite fun. I expect them to be over mushy and typically the same theme about someone selling or saving something usually in a small town and of course falling in love with someone unexpected. But this movie crosses the line right into EXTREMELY annoying and STUPID the dialogue and characters are that unbelievable and irritating. A definite channel changer IMO.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
All it's about is an angry woman!
All it's about is an angry woman driving around in an old truck cussing everyone she meets out! While the acting can't be criticized because the actors are all excellent and no doubt even praised I found as time went on I'd no idea why Mildred was such an angry mean, potty mouthed to everyone and quite hateful person. Yes her daughter was murdered and that's enough to fill one with emotions but it's not enough to cause anyone to turn hateful towards everyone as she was. It was not possible to invest any emotion in her at all. The movie was ultimately boring and too long. Not a movie I'd recommend. Can't think why anyone would but then perhaps that's why it's been so heavily promoted. Because it's just not good!
