I was so genuinely bored while watching this movie that I found myself checking the time on my phone constantly throughout. The movie tries to give you a taste of the everyday life of a young woman in film school who is juggling her work and older boyfriend who happens to be an addict, however it is unbearably dreary and dull. The main character is boring and has no defining personality other than being a pushover film student, and her catering to her manipulative boyfriend does not encourage any sympathy. This movie is basically a vignette of nothing happening.

I had low expectations for this movie, but at the very least hoped I could laugh at it. Much to my horror, this movie is a boring and tedious slow burn where you keep waiting and waiting for something to happen but nothing ever does. This movie twists too many times and doesn't have the plot or character development needed to make it worth keeping up with. Two stars for the marketing and Octavia Spencer.

The movie is visually stunning however the dialogue and plot are confusing and jumbled. It is not entirely historically accurate either and bites off much more than it can chew in terms of storytelling. Additionally, the camerawork is purposefully shaky for the entirety of the movie but does not add much to the actual plot. If you get motion sickness, beware.
