Raised by Wolves (2020)
Fantastic, classic, real Science Fiction.
First of all, great ending! Really blew my mind! I really enjoyed watching the first season. It's not easy stuff to digest, it's confronting, challenging, clever, provoking, fantastic. Definitely traces of Scott's Prometheus and I would not be surprised if further down the track there would actually be a real connection to the ALIEN universe. I also saw some influences from DUNE and Battlestar Galactica there. The world building is amazing, the ending is fantastic and blows your mind. I really love how things come together at the end of the season and you see the big picture and belive me the picture is HUGE. It's quite interesting how the perspective of how you see the characters keep changing and how they evolve. Again, this is not easy viewing, this is real Science Fiction. Whoever gave this show a low rating, please stick to watch superhero movies. Can't wait for season 2.
Das Boot (1985)
The mother of all Submarine movies. Monumental, epic, superb!
This mini series reflects the book of Lothar-Günther Buchheim very closely. The life of a German submarine crew during WW2. Dramatic, realistic, emotional, gripping. One of the best books I ever read and one of the best movies/mini-series I have ever watched. Right up there with Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, Long Road Home but consider its from 1981 I would rate it much higher. No CGI, all just pure hard handy work in the Bavaria Film Studios!
Das Boot (1981)
Monumental, epic, realistic, emotional, nerve-wrecking. One of the best movies of all times.
A monumental war movie, brilliant acting, directing and camera. The mini series of this feature movie is even better. Anyone who likes war movies, thrillers, submarine movies and dramas, go for it. This is the mother of all submarine movies ever made.
